We also asked for a sewer cleanout, but the cleanout was of a smaller variety than they were expecting and the promptly refunded us the difference. My husband met with the inspector and got the 411 directly from him and we were very pleased with his performance as well as Scheduling and Billing. They were down an employee due to maternity leave and Julie the Co-Owner went the extra mile, promptly calling me back from the car making sure that our call was treated with importance instead of me having to wait too long when I could have moved onto another company I was given as a referral. I had called another company after leaving a message that was cheaper but it was a nationwide corporate company and I prefer Mom & Pop operations as there is often more attention to detail, accountability, flexibility, agility, they are better at answering questions and in my opinion rarely say "I don't know" if they can help it. Super prompt and meticulously done. We put our house under contract on Saturday around lunch time and Blackland called us within an hour of the contract offer being accepted. The inspection was completed first thing Monday morning. We loved the fact they used modern technology to detect possible water or gas leaks within the walls. We weren't present during the inspection, but our inspector called us and went over the report line by line even though she was "off the clock". We also liked they provided a free one year subscription to the Home Owners Network. The Blackland team was beyond nice and would recommend them to anyone purchasing a home. I am currently re-locating back to the DFW area after living in the Houston area for 16 years. I put an offer in on a house and it was accepted, immediately my realtor gave me several options for home inspection with Black Land Home Inspection being one of them. I reviewed my options and decided to go with Black Land. I was impressed as the owner called me while I was still looking at the web site to ensure I wasn't having any troubles, then gave me the option to have an early Monday morning inspection. After the inspection I spoke with my inspector, Brittany, to see if there were any major concerns as I understood it would take a few hours to get the written report. This is my second time using Blackland for a home inspection. Clay inspected the first home and was extremely thorough and very informative as to how to mitigate items that needed repair. Brittany performed the inspection on a second home. She was just as thorough and knowledgeable. Brittany went above and beyond pulling out a shovel and digging an area she had concerns of water leakage. I did not see the water on the surface but somehow she knew it was deep in the ground. I am the seller, and Blackland Home Inspections was hired by the buyer. Buyer is halfway around the world and depended on an accurate assessment of our home to make his final decision. After receiving his report, he back out of the sale. Clayton Houston advised me to avoid, at all costs, to not get my hands on the report. But I did, and after reading the report, I understand why the buyer backed out. And I don't blame him. But I also know now why Mr. Houston didn't want me to see the report. It's a 45 year old house, and I fully expected some issues to be found. What I didn't expect was for Clayton Houston to report lies and misrepresent so many things in his report. I counted eleven items he lied about, and the professionals I hired back that up. He just couldn't find anything wrong with them, so he made something up. There are also Ten items considered deceptive reporting by the professional contractors. The roofers, foundation specialists, electricians, plumbers, irrigation techs, and HVAC techs I have hired in the last week have been scratching their head about so many items on that report, they find it appalling. They have found so many more issues, even more serious than the one's he reported, that should have been included. So Buyer beware... you will pay him more than the going rate for home inspectors to deceive you. Seller beware... I wouldn't let him step foot on my property again. Realtor beware... he will make so many of your deals go south. read more

Let me start off by saying that Blackland is AWESOME!!! When I called and first spoke to Julie I immediately knew that I was dealing with someone who knew her business and wanted to help her customers. As we spoke about all that was going to be done, the only word that was coming to mind was...Thorough! I have had several inspections before and they all did the basic services and checks that were needed, but Blackland went above and beyond to make sure that I was fully informed on they state of the home that I was purchasing. While on site with Clay, we spoke at length about the home and what he was finding. He discussed with me his recommendations and helped me understand all that was going to be needed.
