I was recommended to go to Gerard Lee Motors by my brother who has had his cars serviced by them for years & I have to say I was very impressed by the efficiency, from initially seeking a quote over the phone for specific repair work to be done, to the call back response (with quote which was competitive as I tried 3 other garages) within 15 minutes to getting the car in & repaired within 3 days and on the day to get a call in the afternoon to say it was ready at the time I was promised when I dropped it off that morning at 8.30am. I highly recommend this friendly family owned business for car repairs & servicing, who will do a good job at a reasonable price!

I purchased a Jaguar XF on 25-01-2024 for €20,000 -- a huge amount of money for me -- and I made this decision with trust and high hopes. Sadly, the experience has turned into a nightmare. From the very beginning, the AC didn't work properly. I reported it during the warranty period, but they only gave what now seems like a temporary fix. The issue returned within a few months. Then recently, an engine warning light appeared on the dashboard -- a very serious problem. I contacted Ronan, the salesperson who sold me the car, but instead of understanding or supporting me, he simply told me the warranty is over, and I need to pay for repairs myself. On top of that, the service booking was delayed for nearly a month, despite the urgency. When I asked about trading the car, given these issues, he refused to give even an estimated trade-in price. How can I decide anything without knowing the approximate value? What made this experience worse was the way I was spoken to on the phone. While I was trying to express my concerns, Ronan cut the call mid-conversation, not allowing me to finish speaking. I found that incredibly disrespectful and insulting. After spending €20,000, I expected to be treated with basic decency. Instead, I felt completely dismissed and belittled. This isn't just about a faulty car. It's about the way a customer is treated after the sale. I approached them politely and humbly, but received zero help, zero empathy, and zero responsibility from their side. I am now left with a car I can't drive safely, no clear trade-in offer, and no genuine support. I feel cheated, ignored, and emotionally drained. It's devastating to feel like I've thrown away €20,000 of my hard-earned money. To anyone considering Dunne Motors, please be very cautious. In my experience, their focus is only on making the sale, not on supporting the customer afterward. Once your money is paid, you're left alone. I sincerely wish I could give zero stars. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. - Karthikeyan Kuppusamy (KK)

I highly recommend Jason of Frascati Motors. My experience has quite simply been superb. On the…read morefirst occasion he resurrected my elderly car, which I feared was unlikely to happen, and the whole service charge was shockingly reasonable. Quite simply my very dead and elderly car was reanimated and drove like a dream. This time around, my now even more elderly car (current age 19 years) had developed multiple problems during the pandemic and I ultimately just took it off the road and let it sit in storage for a prolonged period. I knew that there was a major problem with the brakes, coupled with the fact that the lock on the car's boot had become highly unpredictably dysfunctional. It also needed a general service and preparation for the NCT. I dropped it off and confirmed with Jason that the garage would likely close circa 6pm. He contacted me later in the morning when he had evaluated the car and explicitly informed me about the most expensive aspect of the work needed (which was absolutely essential to permit safe driving). He asked if I wanted to proceed with the work, which I confirmed that I did. He then messaged me to let me know that the necessary parts would be delivered at 5pm and that the car would be ready for collection at 8pm. I was stunned that he was perfectly willing and ready to get the job done on the same day and stay late at work to do this. The car was ready on time; he'd done extensive work on the brake system (which he described as having been "tricky" to do); he'd sorted the lock on the boot (which he said had been "even more tricky" [I knew that he was telling the truth about this, as I'd endured massive unpredictability with the lock's behaviour!]); and he'd also completely rejuvenated the car's headlights (cleaning and reconditioning the glass, ensuring good penetrance of the light beam, and checking headlight alignment), as the material had so decayed that little light was actually getting through. Jason explained everything that he had done to the car (right down to the fluid he'd added to aid suppleness of plastic washers in the engine) and he gave me a fully itemized invoice (including VAT). The car now drives perfectly! My experience of Jason is that he is a consummate professional; he is a direct and straight talker (which I like); and my impression is that he doesn't take fools gladly. He reminds me of my dad, which is very reassuring. My dad trained as a fitter with the railway; he also obtained his senior trade certificates as a car mechanic (1950s!); and he ultimately became a teacher. He always said to trust the professionals in their discipline and not to try to dictate to them. He never attempted to service his own car (N.B. his car mechanic experience was early 1950s!). Some people may find Jason blunt, but my take on it is that he is honest, polite, professional and clear on what is needed to get the job done properly. I am a professional man (a medical discipline) and I completely identify with and understand Jason's stance. I actually find it highly reassuring to know that I am in the hands of a professional, who will tell me the truth without any embellishment. I have to also be very honest and say that Jason spontaneously gave me a 5% discount on my recent bill (perhaps as I was a repeat customer), which I didn't query and was delighted to accept! He didn't have to do it and he made no drama about it. I have seen some negative reviews about Jason and Frascati Motors. None of these negative reviews reflect my experience as a repeat customer of Frascati Motors; and my impression is that none of them actually reflect the quality of the work done but may reflect interpersonal disagreements. If a service is provided, it must be paid for. I am delighted to recommend Frascati Motors as being a 7* (7 star) service. Dr Cian Denihan MCRN 013177

I have been making excuse not to use it for the last month and now I have a doozey, the front right hand tyre has a huge gouge out of it I hadn't noticed before. Eventually I had to pluck up the courage to move from my lovely Micra to the 2.4 Ltr tank that is the S60. My first port of call was Fast Fit. The guys are helpful and friendly, gave me all sorts of advice, replaced the tyre (a crippling 110 Eur) and then said...erm.. how long have you been driving this car? I say something in the region of 30 mins, they say "your breaks are shot to hell, not safe, we can fix em" Well, the shop does say fast fix.. I say ok, I drop the car in 2 days later and 90 mins after that I am road legal and safe again. Now all I have to do is learn how to park the blasted thing.....

I tried phoning them Monday but couldn't get an answer the phone kept ringing out, so no one answered, as I wanted to let them know that I couldn't drive the car that far and I was going to have to take my cat to another garage nearer to me, just 2 mins away from me. I did that and the other garage fixed it, the pipe near the water pump was loose and the clip halfway down. And they had to modify it to make sure it fitted. It cost me 120 euro, as I said I couldn't drive the car to Donnybrook as it would have been to dangerous for me to drive thar far. I am disappointed.
