There are a number of computers and a table area for children to sit at. Often there are children's activities held here. The main library area has a good selection of books on all subjects, and the fiction section is particularly good, and the staff are friendly and helpful, with an obvious passion for books. There is a full range of magazines and daily newspapers to read and an fantastic reference section upstairs. Top notch free education entertainment. Well done Penarth Library.

Recently I was talking with a colleague's little boy who told me how much he loved it too so it's good to know it's still a regular haunt for the Penarth bookworm kids. For the adults there is a good range of fiction/non fiction as well as reference, local studies and family history materials. Students can benefit from the free internet access, CDs and DVD's for loan. There is also the use of a photocopier which has a small charge (about 5p a copy) but is invaluable. The staff are absolutely wonderful and incredibly helpful if you're looking to track down something specific. A real local library with a wonderful local feel.

It is part of the same building as Llandaff North Day Centre and is situated right on the roundabout at the junction of Gabalfa Avenue and College Road. The library offers - fiction, non-fiction, and talking books for adults; a separate section for children full of books for tots to teens. The latest addition is a selection of DVDs for children and teenagers to borrow for a week at a time. You'll also find community information, a reference section for adults, a magazine exchange, and a photocopier for all to use. There are10 PCs with full Internet access, including 2 adult only PCs and 2 child only PCs, as well as use of self-help Internet guides such as the BBC's Webwise CDRom - and books on how to access the net. Storytimes for pre-school children are held on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10am. A Youth Worker is based here on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3.30pm to closing, offering after school activities and projects, and the opportunity to get involved with the Young Achievers Awards scheme. A Reading Group meets on the last Wednesday of every month at 2.30pm. The Library is also handily on Bus Route 35. They have car parking available with a dedicated disabled space outside the Library.

Absolutely beautiful library, set in a great location and the friendliest, most welcoming staff I have met in a very long time. This is my favourite library in the city! It was refurbished about a year or so ago and is now a…read morereally relaxing, welcoming place to go and read a book and choose your next selection of books. Its well placed too, there is a bus stop right outside which takes you into the centre of Cardiff or alternatively up to Llanishen. They have sections on fiction and non -fiction, DIY, cookery, biography and of course, my favourite, crime fiction. If a book which you would like to read has not come into the library yet, you can order it and it only takes a matter of days to arrive. Please support your local library - they cannot survive without our support.

Took my number as they didn't have it in stock phoned me a little while later and not only did they manage to locate one from another area,a special book I had been trying to find they had bought! yes actually bought so that I and others could read. They are so so helpful and very polite. There are internet facilities free and also printing facilities (ideal if you have no pc) and the charge for a print out is minimal. There is a lovely section for children and has a play corner. they also have story tellers in so young children can be entertained and listen to wonderful tales sometimes even siging. Exellent
