Came into Blade & Brush on a Saturday afternoon needing a cut for an important presentation the following week. VERY SATISFIED! I walked in and was greeted very pleasantly by the woman at the desk. She offered me coffee and asked if I had been there before. The barbershop itself was very clean and features modern decor and a comfortable waiting area. There were only 2 barbers working today so there was a little wait, but I didn't have an appointment so I was anticipating that. Jessica was my barber and she was great. She asked a lot of questions to make sure she was giving me the exact cut I wanted and even gave me some ideas for styling which I really appreciated. In what has surely been a nightmarish year, finding Blade & Brush has been a rare bright spot. I live in the city, but grew up in Haddon Heights, so I noticed when this cool little shop opened. Since I didn't have to wade through a sea of protesters to grab cut, I thought I'd give it a shot; and I'm so pleased I did. Let's start with the fact that it's very pleasant to be in the space. It's nice without being pretentious. Big windows, and lots of room make it feel...well, whatever the opposite of claustrophobic is. Parking is never a problem in the burbs, and it's super affordable. My stylist...or barber...what's the right term theses days...is Beth. She's super cool, and super professional. In the city, no one mind charging you $40 to give you a (pretty lame) clipper cut. Beth takes her time, uses scissors, and is as consistent as the sun rising in the east. If you want to talk horror flicks, she's got ya' there too:) If you're asking yourself should I spend the extra $3 to upgrade from a classic cut to an "executive", the answer is a definitive yes. You get a wash, which is more like a head massage, and you actually get a face massage. Amazing. I go in the middle of the day (like lunch), and it makes the second half of the work day a breeze, as the whole experience is so relaxing...and you leave looking extra tight, too. In short, I cannot recommend Blade & Brush more highly. From vibe, to cut, to value for dollar...I would rate them all at 5 stars. Have a go, good people! read more

I'm new to the area and have been looking for a new Barbershop. I found Blade and was very impressed with the detail to the interior and exterior of the building. That was nothing next to the energy that you feel walking in. I'm very very particular about the way I want my hair done. I was blessed to get Maddie!!!!! DO NOT GO!! This was my first and last experience with blade and brush. Although the shop was very clean, professional, and well maintained. I could not say the same about the staff and customer service, or at least Anita's service to be specific. I would give this shop 0 stars if it was an option. I explained what I wanted and showed a picture as well but received nowhere near what I was looking for. She seemed more worried about what was on the TV than cutting my hair. Customer service was extremely low, attention to detail was nowhere to be found, and the overall experience was one of the worst I have had. I genuinely believe I could have done a better job with a pair of craft scissors. I would recommended this place to absolutely no one and honestly can not believe that they have such good ratings. I will not be going back and I advise anyone thinking about getting their haircut here to go somewhere else. Spending $40 for a haircut at blade and brush is the equivalent to throwing $40 into a fire. read more

I wanted to love this place. I'm a local and honestly it would have been a game changer to have a spot within walking distance. I went on a week day during the afternoon. There was 1 guy in the chair getting a cut and no body else. I was not greeted when I came in and in fact felt as though the 2 doing hair avoided talking to me as if I was not there. I was only approached when the first person was paying and was asked if I had an appointment. Fair. I did not but was able to get a chair. This was after banter about a lighter for a cigarette break. I sat in a chair and was asked what I wanted. I replied a medium skin fade, and about an inch off the top. And off we go turns me away from the mirror and tell me about conspiracy theories and how the government is corrupt, goes into a thing about oJ and stabbing the "bitch". Tells me about a bunch of medical stuff. All the while he stinks like cigarettes. He turns me around and says it's done what do you think. Well I think you don't know what you're doing. I do not have a skin fade. The word fade implies a gradual change in length and a skin fade is shaved at the bottom. What I got was a crooked #2 clipper cut to the crown and straight shaved at the temple. I'd say it was a high and tight, jar head style, but that would be a disservice to that haircut. I'm a nice guy so I paid and gave a tip. All together 44 and change. I won't be back and honestly it's just hair but it's a bummer. read more

I'm a type of person that dislikes haircuts, so I only get one about every 5-6 months letting it grow out in between; this can make it more difficult for the barbers to give a good cut, but they succeeded at Blade & Brush. read more

Jasper refused to cut my hair - considering I am a long time REPEAT customer you would think they would have more respect. Do not come here. I drove 45 min to come to this place and they refused to cut my hair. I WILL NEVER RETURN AND I WAS A GOOD TIPPER. I was told since I was late I would not be served. Even though almost every appointment I have with Jasper he has made me wait 10-20 min in the lobby. I will be sure to tell everyone to never come here. read more

Jasper did a thorough and awesome job on a head shave, beard trim, and hot towel shave. Will be back when in the area. Was thrilled to discover this shop when I was looking for a new barber. The shop feeling is very welcoming and has great charm, making it feel like a boutique experience. Jasper was the barber to cut my hair during my visit and he did a phenomenal job. He was very precise with my haircut and I can tell he treats each haircut like a piece of art. Lastly, the prices were very fair for the end result; most people would pay double what I did for a haircut downtown!
