My hairdresser lives in the city of Claremont and they told me about this preserve. Its nestled in a neighborhood of upscale homes and seems to be a part of an HOA. My husband is a photographer, @Anchoredminds on IG, and wanted to take photos to celebrate the completion of my master's. We traveled to the park just before sunset during the summer and found it pretty easily. We parked and walked up the path and the place was completely empty. In the front, there is a sign that warns of no professional photography but we were already dressed and losing sunlight and decided to proceed. Towards the end of our time, there was an angry woman and son that walked by commenting on no photos but we were already done. So visit at your own expense but know there is local beauty to be had. Overall, there are other beautiful places in Claremont that could be captured in your photos. read more

Beautiful park perfect for a quick small photo shoot. They have signs it's not allowed but last I checked public spaces are free to be used for photography. There's a Karen that lives across the street that will take photos of you and harass with comments about taking photos but she has ZERO power to boot you as long as you're respectful and not creating a nuisance. Very beautiful and peaceful place. Found out this is not a regular park and no professional photography allowed. We were taking photos and a resident called the police on us. Don't try to picnic or take photos here they will call the cops on you. read more

This is a small, beautiful, peaceful park located in the foothills of Claremont, tucked in a quiet upscale residential area. From the street, it looks like a regular park with a big, well-groomed lawn... But follow the dirt path behind a wooden gate & stone wall, and it feels like you stepped into a woodland wonderland. There are tons of tall trees, and a huge, seemingly-out-of-place pile of rocks and pebbles. And there are a few benches scattered throughout the woodland area as well. In the autumn, all the leaves turn color, and it's even more amazing to see. The cons? It can get busy sometimes with people flocking here to take pictures... Speaking of pictures... I came here one weekday, just to catch up with a couple friends and their toddler. It was quiet-- just a couple people around with their dogs. I brought my little point-and-shoot camera (actually no bigger than my iphone) to capture some moments with old friends, and no more than 5 mins of taking out my camera did a lady seem to jump out of the bushes and scold us for taking pictures. She said there were no professional pictures allowed. I said i'm not a professional. (with my unassuming point-and-shoot raised). Then she said there were no kind of pictures allowed! I went to visit the signage, and it doesn't state that all photography is prohibited. What about selfies? I'd like to think that the selfies taken on my phone look pretty professional... I have a plethora of filters available and i make sure they're in focus... But i digress. So, i'm not sure if this park is private or public now since my encounter with this power-hungry individual. Just beware if you decide to take pictures here. People may pop out of the bushes in a ridiculous rage. read more

Good park to take pictures I like the place I took a lot of photos at this park I love the flowers

Nice little park, but BEWARE the neighbors have their eyes on visitors outside their community, guess it's an HOA park wouldn't be surprise they put up gates next. They do have poison ivy got to take some home with me on my leg (guess I should of stayed on the path). It's not a dog park either, cops came and educated me on the "leash law" LOL, they were serious too. Heck not worth all the hassles, I gotta find another park for me and my fur buddy. read more

This is a beautiful park nestled in the middle of an upper scale housing community. It's a great park for photography, going for a nice walk and soaking up the beauty that lies within the area. Unfortunately, if you are a photographer and have your camera with you, or are a professional photographer, be aware that it's not uncommon for local residence to approach you and try to kick you out of the park for taking photos. I have a number of photographers I know who have used this park for family photos, etc. and have been harassed by local residence. There is a sign located in the park that does speak to professional photography, but when you read the sign, the park doesn't want photos taken of the park to be used to advertise. Either way, it's a beautiful park in a great location with many points of interest which make for great photography or just a stroll through the park. The wooded wonderland that awaits you in the park never disappoints. read more
