On a road trip and we decided to stop at Blakes Lotaburger and since it's near hatch why not try the green chiles on our Order! The burger was delicious and the hatch chiles had just enough spice. The burger was hot, fresh and a decent size. I found the fries to be a bit greasy, with an oily flavor I couldn't quite overcome despite being super hungry after eight hours on the road. Most of their sodas were out, leaving me with a choice of Mountain Dew or Mountain Dew. What really bummed me out though were all the employees just hanging around shooting the breeze with each other while two thirds of the tables were covered in trash as well as the counters and floors. read more

I recently visited this place after coming back from New Mexico and I didn't know what to expect. I really enjoyed the chicken strips and my boyfriend loved his burger. When I wrote my review of Blake's Lotaburger in Deming, I said we would stop in there the next time we were going through town, and we did. This time, I learned there is an Itsaburger that is close to the size of a McDonald's Quarter Pounder, I ordered two Itsaburgers with green chili and cheese. Delicious, and the perfect size for husband and me. I also ordered the Onion Rings and they were hot, crispy and yummy. I'm not sure that the Itsaburger is on the printed menu. The young gentleman taking the order was rather snide as soon as we walked in he said we got Big Burger small Burgers medium burgers before we could even look at the menu. My husband went up for a green chili that they never put in the bag and he had to wait for it. It seems like no one wanted to get the green chili. The place needs cleaning flies were bothering us while we were eating. We usually stop at this location on our way back to Tucson Arizona but we won't be stopping anymore. Visited on January 20, 2025 at about 3:30 pm. The good: cashier was nice. Food was delicious. Bathrooms were clean and smelled good. The bad: terrible looking stains right outside the entry door. Looked like a crime scene. Every single, and I mean every single table was dirty. The areas behind the round tables were dirty. The counter space above the trash receptacles were dirty. I had to ask the cashier to have someone clean off a table for us. There wasn't a whole lot of people at the time, so it would've been fairly easy for one or two members of the kitchen staff to take 5-10 minutes to wipe down the tables. Makes no sense. Clean place, great tasting food, service was excellent. My only complaint is that we visited this location a year ago and the men's restroom door was broken (wouldn't unlock) and it still is. Ordered a burger NM style with chili in it. It was really good. First time trying Blake's, heard it was a New Mexican staple. The ingredients were fresh, the patty was good, and the fries were cooked right but not too greasy either. Would eat again. The service was great. Workers were friendly and attentive to your order and to customers as well. Overall, the dining area was very clean, looked and felt like a classic burger joint. No complaints! The service was poor. There was a line of 10 people and one cashier. Plenty of employees but no one was opening the second register. The cashier would not let me speak everytime I spoke she would interrupt me, I ordered a itsa burger and before I could say with cheese she interrupted me. This went on as I attempted to order four burgers and fries. If she would stop interrupting I could have told her. Moving on the food was good and fresh. They were out of mustard which is the main sauce for their burgers. I don't understand why they couldn't use $10 from the petty cash to get mustard. Nice clean place, out dated but clean. Food taste really good. At night the outside perimeter doesn't look welcoming. Perimeter lights are always turned off and the Blake's sign is also off. Wish it was more welcoming at night. The North East door is always locked from the outside. So you have to go in through the North West door. Which is dark at night. read more

I stop by this Blake's 6 times a month on my way from AZ to El Paso and back again. Never have had a issue. Today however I stop in on my way back to AZ. I walked in and the women at the counter yelled at me for not wearing a mask, I apologized and got my mask. After placing my order I went to pay with my credit card and she angrily indicated that it was broken, so I paid cash. While I was waiting for my food several people came in with no mask, and she said nothing. Those same people paid with a credit cards and again nothing said from her. My bf and I stopped in just now and got the New Mexico Style Lota Burger and we absolutely loved it! Probably the best burger we have tried in a long time. The restaurant was clean and the pretty girl who rung us up was so wonderful. The staff made a delicious burger and the flavor was perfect. Wish we had these burgers in Houston but am so glad to be moving to Tucson where they have them. Definitely will stop by this location in Deming again on the way back to AZ. The family stopped here yesterday on our way home from Texas. Service was beyond slow. But about 6 hours later my daughter got violently ill. Then about 30 minutes later my husband also got violently ill. Then a little bit later my son also got sick. I was the last to fall, but woke up about 4 am also sick. I never leave reviews but I just had to for the guy who works at the front. I had a terrible experience at this restaurant due to their negligent attitude towards food allergies. When I inquired about the type of oil they use for frying due to my severe allergy, the staff member I spoke with was dismissive and unhelpful. Despite my concerns, they refused to check or provide any reassurance, simply repeating 'does it matter.' This lack of care for customer safety is unacceptable.
