Staff aren't very friendly. I got my nose and third lobe piercing done there and wasn't impressed, they didn't take time to care about you, you were in and out and I didn't feel satisfied with the service. They were very sanitary and piercer seemed nice enough. Both piercings turned out bad, my nose immediately got infected and had to take it out and third lobe has been a problematic piercing since I got it. I've a lot of piercings in my ears & some had started closing over as I hadn't used them recently but I wanted to start wearing earrings again so as they advertised £10 piercings I came here. The piercer was friendly and both the room and all equipment (inc news earrings) were sterile. I liked the fact they don't use a gun but needles and am happy with her work. As for the £10 piercing please be aware that is per hole so if you want both ears pierced it's £20. However, if the hole is just starting to close over it's only £5 to fully open it. read more

My daughter got her lip done here a couple of years ago. They charged her to numb it, but I'm not sure you get your lip numbed! They did not numb her lip and my husband ended up in a shouting match with the manager on the phone. The extra charge was £5.00, and they offered a complimentary saline solution instead of a refund. My husband stood his ground and was able to go into the shop and get the cash refund. Her lip got infected shortly after and this became a frequent thing so she had to take it out after a couple of months! Much to my dismay, I have only just learned that my daughter went back here again to get her navel pierced. This was done at Christmas and four weeks on it's starting to (migrate), push away from the skin! She told me it was the boy on the reception desk that did it and didn't use and numb solution or clamp the skin! The obvious attraction is the cheap piercings, which having my nose done myself I would be wary about, but to teenagers this will be of course appealing! I'd be happy to see this place closed! read more

Got my tongue piercing & snakebites done here. BIG MISTAKE!! When I got my tongue pierced, during the process, the guy kept calling me 'babe' & 'sweetheart', which I found really creepy! I was not told how to take care of it & had to resort to google & youtube, for other piercers advice. Went to a different & much better piercing studio to get my venoms pierced & take my old tongue piercing out (average tongue piercing). To be told that it was pierced too far forward, was pierced squint & was millimetres away from a vein. On the same day I also got snakebites pierced. When I got the right side of my lip pierced for my snakebites, the guy pierced me with no word of warning, hence when the needle went through, I was a bit shocked, no count down, no deep breaths, nothing, which personally, I thought was shocking. Then I got the left side of my lip pierced & when trying to feed the bar through, the needle feel onto my lap & he dropped the bar & then had to re-pierce my lip! Then in doing so, pierced it in the wrong spot & vertically (the right side was straight & horizontal). After complaining, the guy grudged piercing my lip again properly (his fault in the first place). It was then done properly & straight. When I went back to get shorter bars in both my lip & tongue, I got a lot of attitude from the staff & after that day I have never been back. Never heard any good things about this studio & sadly I was caught out by giving them my money. Thankfully I no longer have snakebites & have removed my old tongue piercing & have two correctly placed venom piercings. read more

I've had a few piercings and one tattoo from here and the only thing I can say is the piercings are a cheap price for bad quality and the tattoos are well overpriced. Of the three piercings I've had here I've got none of them in now, two of them weren't straight and wouldn't heal and the other wasn't done in the correct position so didn't look right. I was also quoted £80 for a tattoo design a quarter of the size of my palm. Ridiculous. read more

Not the best place to go, for a little bit more money you can get much better service! The people are friendly but don't take enough time and care. I have had two ear piercings here. The first one was my helix and the piercer didn't offer me a stud/hoop, just put the stud in. The second experience was a different piercer, they did my rook but did not ask me to check if I was satisfied with the placement and just went straight ahead and did it. As a result my piercing is now hidden right in my ear and I would prefer that it show more because it is hardly visible. Not worth saving the few pounds! read more

Avoid they get receptionists to pierce so they can make more money, my smiley felt out a few hours after it got pierced, they tried to charge me £5 for them to put it back in. I've been there before for my piercings because it's £10. It's not great quality but if it's cheap your looking for then the piercings aren't that bad. Just don't expect them to tell you anything on aftercare. I went again for my tattoo, just a bit of text on my arm so I thought nothing could go wrong. Well, Lorraine who's the owner did my tattoo and it's of such poor quality (I looked at her portfolio afterwards and it's literally shocking) I'm now having to go to another studio to get it fixed. Before starting I would definitely advise going to a different store. Plenty of good ones around Glasgow. Anyway I went in to get a piercing done, thinking £10 is good, however when I got there and after I had paid I was told it couldn't be done and to come back another day, which I wasn't pleased about as it takes 30mins each way via bus, a journey which costs around £6. Due to this not being my fault I went back today, (I was already popping into town) to get a refund, however I was told they would not refund me. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR FAULT. The man/woman I dealt with seemed very frustrated and came across extremely rude. I suppose you get what you pay for with these stores. Nothing seemed particularly clean and im glad I didn't get my piercing done there. read more

I went to Blancolo after a friends' recommendation. I had a picture of the tattoo I wanted on another womans body and asked to get the same, but I did not! After 3 hours session, we stopped and I looked at the tattoo - said to the guy that this is different than the picture and his reply was 'ok,ok'. I left because I was too exhaused to continue the 'ok ok' conversation. I returned and confronted this to the artist, his reply was that he wanted to make it more feminine! It was roses that I was getting done, how can it be more feminine? And what is more important, why is he deciding to do something different than what I asked? And if he has a different idea why not tell me and discuss it from the start? The tattoo I got was out of shape, colour and size. Also, I had to pay for the tattoo before it was done! A tattoo is something that will be on your body for ever and also it is a painful process. So people can change their mind even by listening to the sound of the tattoo machine. I was getting a large piece on the side of my back and it was really painful. But I was sitting there without crying, screaming or moving. Only said a few times that it hurts. The reply I was getting was 'no pain no gain' and similar expres.sions A simple 'I know it is very painful on that part of your body' would have been enough. Tattoos are not for people that like the pain - tattoos are artwork, and you don't have to be hardcore in order to get one. I was searching for this tattoo for a very long time and I was really exciting for finally getting it done, but was totally disappointed from the artists work. I would strongly discourage anyone from getting their tattoo done at Blancolo. read more

I was wanting my second ear piercings done for a while and decided on a whim to get them done here 5 weeks ago. Biggest mistake ever. I've got a few piercings and never had any problems with them so I never thought I'd have a problem with my ear lobes. I must say the staff I spoke to were friendly so there was no problem there. I knew something was wrong when I walked into the piercing parlour and it took the girl less than two minutes to pierce my ears. Call it quick service but I'd rather people take their time before putting holes in my body. Anyway, everything was fine up until week 3 when the ball of the barbel fell off and I had to put a different earring in. Both ears horribly infected. I'm really disappointed, not only because I really wanted them done but because I also had to pay £20 for nothing. I won't be going here again I'm afraid. read more

Wow...such helpful and extremely friendly staff. Had my tattoo done with John-Scott on Saturday and I am just so in love with it. Went in the previous week for consultation to plan what I wanted the final outcome to be, and everyone in shop was so helpful and friendly making me feel at ease that I had made the right decision on picking them to go to as had been very worried to put my faith in someone taking 11 months to build up the courage. On the day itself I could not have been made more welcome or at ease by John-Scott, being given breaks throughout the piece and allowed to check work in mirror as it progressed to make sure I was happy so far. I have to admit that I was in tears at 1 point when I could see it coming together so well as looked just like photo. I cannot recommend Blancolo Glasgow highly enough. I have had other tattoos before but this will be the only place for me in the future, Thank you. read more

I got my lip pierced here a few months back and I was happy with the service and quality. I then decided to go get another piercing which I was excited about getting. Yet again I was happy with the quality and service, I cleaned the piercing as I was told with sea salt and water but a limp formed on the top of my tongue and my friend said it was part of the healing process as that's what happened with hers so I left it a few days but after leaving it, the lump worsened and a yellow/green substance started leaking from it. I went to the doctors for antibiotics and was told to remove it if it didn't clear up within 2 days. It hasn't cleared up so as a result of this happening I have had to remove this piercing. I am nowhere near happy with this result and I will not be returning to blancolo for anymore piercings! read more

I'm writing this because I wish someone had written this for me when I was searching reviews because I know how helpful they are. I had my nose pierced here around 2 months ago and at the time I was searching for something cheap and good quality. Apparently you can't get both those things. The reviews for this place were generally mixed and I wish I had looked further into where I could get it done. Don't get me wrong I watched a ton of videos about cleaning and pain, yet failed to get the crucial part right. I went with a parent due to being under 16, and was pretty nervous. The waiting time was relatively quick and everyone was friendly so these things weren't the problem. Once entering, and of course there are different employees so this won't apply to all, the guy seemed pretty bored and was hardly reassuring. He skipped the whole part where he speaks to me about what's about to happen and because I was nervous I didn't think of asking. He never explained what gauge the piercing was, or what material it was or how much it will hurt. Once over I felt fine but a little dizzy, he spoke extremely quickly about the aftercare and skipped most important things like what to use and how long for. Yes, I was given a leaflet though it lacked information on what to do if a bump formed. And this leads me onto my next point, a bump formed on my nose shortly after. Though I'm not putting the blame on the piercer or shop because it's mostly my fault but I do believe if I had known more information about the right care and what to do if it fell out, how to put it back in etc. I followed the care routine of a sea salt solution three times a day religiously but the bump didn't seem to budge and occasionally bled. At this point I gave up and decided to go back to the shop to ask further questions I was too stupid to ask last time. Again, the girl I asked seem slightly amused and bored at my questions (which were all perfectly reasonable). I was told to use bio oil as it was a "keloid", which I later found out is an advanced stage of scar tissue which my bump was not. Of course, despite her attitude, I followed instructions and to no avail. The bump worsened and the bleeding increased. I have now taken the piercing out, after searching online I believe the remedies I've tried should have worked by now and either my body is rejecting the piercing or it's a sign of an allergy to the piercing. After my experience, i don't believe I would come back here. Yes, it is cheap and reasonable (my friend got her nose done around the same time and hers is perfectly fine) but I didn't enjoy my experience. i went to this tattoo parlour because i thought that it was decent my mistake. they were quick enough to take the money from me but when it came to fixing the damage that was left they were trying to con more money from me . When the manager realized i wasn't going to pay them even more than cost of the original tattoo his attitude changed. He was rude abusive ill mannered and very disgusting to speak to ask he was very intimidating. would never go back have also lodged an official complaint against them. i would think twice before getting a tattoo from here read more

I was in Blancolo tattoo's earlier today to question if they could tattoo over an extremely old burn scar (23 years ago) on my left thigh with a bamboo design, when meeting the tattooist he was friendly and offered good advice however the man who worked alongside reception pulled me downstairs after getting the advice saying it is a £50 booking fee for the design when i had not even mentioned i wanted it after being told they cannot tattoo over some parts as the ink would fade from the scar. When i hesitated with whether i wanted it or not at that precise moment he decided to use the exact words 'WE DO NOT WORK FOR FREE HERE'. This shocked me so much as I have had a tattoo from there before when the building was just under central station in Glasgow and the rudeness of that individual has completely put me off returning ever again. read more

The female piercer is good been in a few times and she makes you feel at ease. However there has always been a long wait, I'm not sure if you can book a time but I was impressed to see people being given vouchers to come back another day when they couldn't wait any longer. However I'm disappointed to say I won't be back due to the man behind the till who made a very inappropriate vulgar comment to one of three young girls being served by the (very polite) female staff member. He was also on a phonecall constantly swearing which I find so unprofessional. I assume it was a personal call in which case should be done elsewhere. read more

I made an appointment and sent Blancolo my design on the 5th of January and was scheduled in for a tattoo on 20th January. I travelled from Stornoway to get this done. My consultation was meant to be on the day before and when I went in the artist had nothing prepared for me, nor did he advise how large the tattoo would be (as the design was very detailed) and could not advise the price either. I was told to still turn up for my appointment which I could then have an actual consultation before getting it done. I lost confidence and felt under-valued as a customer and felt they were more concerned about their money than anything so I called when they opened on the 20th and advised that I was not willing to go through with the tattoo and asked for my deposit back. As they did not have anything prepared for the consultation (after having the design I wanted for 2 weeks) Blancolo did not provide the service that I had agreed to with them, so I believed that I was entitled to my money back under the Sale of Goods Act. The manager called me back, was incredibly rude and refused to issue my money back. Terrible service and terrible attitude. read more

*TATTOO/TATTOO PARLOUR REVIEW* So after reading a lot of reviews (i had quite a large, substantial tattoo planned) I decided to go to Blancolo. This was a terrible mistake, I urge anyone reading this, NOT to get any tattoo work done in Blancolo. EVERYTHING, from pricing model, appointments, artist ability and SUSPECT scamming goes on here. I am not an angry customer who wanted money back or anything, just a grown man/father who was severely let down. I will go into detail, but if you cannot be bothered reading further, i will say this - go elsewhere. Pricing: Blancolo's pricing model makes absolutely no sense. Like most people i had a design in mind (i didn't choose something off their wall). I was given a price for this, simple. I talk about my design, they tell how you long an appointment to book and how much your tattoo will cost. They are purposely vague about this. Long story short, the original pricing for the work I wanted done was 250 pounds. It came to 550. When you ask what's going on, you are treated like you are being silly/stupid. More on this later. Getting the tattoo done: A shambles. The tattoo artist (s) working on me would disappear for up to 15 minutes at a time (this time would not be deducted from your overall payment...and you pay by the hour...) they would go and take appointments from other possible customers (again, not deducted from your payment). I was repeatedly not listened to about the work i wanted done, ONE example was that (I was getting a quarter sleeve). I did not want my elbow tattooed. At one point (laying on my stomach and couldn't see) I realised the tattoo "artist" in fact went ahead and began tattooing my elbow, of course by the time I realised, it was too late. The finished tattoo is a f*&*ing disgrace and i will need to go elsewhere to have it completed. Customer service: As mentioned, the tattoo artists in Blancolo seem to have a trick. As mentioned, you pay by the hour. They will begin your work and near the end of your appointment they seem to slow right down, take breaks, speak to prospective customers and co workers. This means of course that they "didn't have enough time" to complete your work, forcing you to make another appointment. And of course, this means you end up paying more than your original agreed price. This went on and on with me until i was 550 pounds, instead of 250. I got to the point of nearly losing my temper when half way through my work my tattoo "artist" would suddenly vanish, or "go to speak to someone", leave me sitting in the tattoo chair for 15/25 minutes. You pay by the hour, this is half your time if you booked an hour. ABILITY: important one, Blancolo also failed here. I went in with a simple request, that they continued the design I had for a tattoo down my arm. They seemed completely unable to do this, what I got looked terrible, and I have it forever. My "artist" seemed apathetic. They never seemed to care or realise how important their work was. Summary. The staff acted like they were part of a private club and treated customers like morons. They have tactics to increase how much you pay them, the tattoo work is absolutely below par, and I promise you that going to this tattoo parlour will leave you regretful. I'm not bitter, I even got a free appointment from them. After my final appointment my wife pointed how the amount of errors in my work, I sent Blancolo a picture of the mess on my arm and they gave me a free appointment. the joke here is that the free appointment didn't fix half of the mistakes on my arm. As I sat there getting tattoos i felt genuinely sorry for people coming in asking about tattoos, designs and prices. i wanted to tell them to go elsewhere. This is why i am doing this now. My work was completed and below par, poor design, poor tattooing ability and too expensive, with terrible staff who get away with murder (couldn't hack working anywhere where they actually be challenged). I WISH i'd read something like this before i'd went, so I write this for you joe public! Go elsewhere. A tattoo is an exciting thing, not something that should be laced with bitterness and anger.
