This is black heaven right here, I wish they had something like this in San Diego! ‍ 100/10 score. Vibes, Music, and Food an amazing experience! Service is very warming as well.

The food and drinks were absolutely fantastic, with a wide selection of delicious dishes and expertly crafted beverages. Additionally, we appreciated the free shots offered, which added to the celebration. Thanks for a memorable and enjoyable experience!

Keron was amazing, welcoming and a vibe. Loved his hospitality and attentiveness. The food was on point! Delicious! Definitely will be coming back.

This was THE BEST BURGER IVE EVER HAD!!! And amazing fries. Honestly, the best. Such a chill and comfortable atmosphere. The service was amazing. GO GO GO!!!!

Blaqhaus was a great experience. They played great music, we had amazing service from Keron and the food was delicious.

After hearing about Blaqhaus NoHo for a while and the fun atmosphere they were known to curate, I was interested in traveling out of the way for this place. When we arrived on the weekend, it seemed very basic and not as pictured online, so I was definitely hoping the food and overall experience would be better. The food was decent, but it gets annoying when a lot of items are à la carte, and you end up spending a lot of extra money on each item instead of just having a meal for these items. Also, compared to a lot of other restaurants that serve bottomless mimosas, it being $35 felt very overpriced and didn't make me as excited to order it, along with the extra costs throughout the meal. It was alright, but seeing the distance and mediocre vibe, I would not return.

Never been here before, but I'm so glad I did. I was introduced to this place with my friend who had his birthday brunch here. They have valet for $12 as it's a very difficult neighborhood to park in. They have a great menu and the food was absolutely delicious. They have a DJ, a full bar, and the music played is great. They have a very friendly, hostess and waiter, and the manager also checked on us a couple of times. The drinks and vibes are flowing and they give a heavy pour. A lot of tasty options. Soul rolls 9.5/10- best thing I had in a while. The only thing is they only give you two and cut them and half to make for. Need at least six. Very delicious and you can taste all the soul food in every bite from the macaroni to the greens, etc. It comes with a sweet-and-sour sauce for a dipping, and it is truly out out of this world. Hot honey lemon pepper 9.5/10- so yummy. It is an eight piece. I normally like all flats, but I got a mix and I wasn't mad at it because the flavor was delicious. Doesn't even eat the ranch as it's so flavorful. Cat fish and grits 8/5 -the catfish was absolutely delicious and the sauce poured on the grip was very flavorful, but the grits were a little greedy. I like mine more creamy. I wish it also came with another piece of catfish. It only comes with one piece, but it is a very big piece and it's very crispy. I got a delicious mocktail, so don't think it's because you don't drink alcohol. You won't have a good time there and you can't enjoy everything till for us. They have who could share between two and five people. I don't do hookah, but my friend said that it was good and they have a QR code to scan on the table when you need assistance. They do get busy and after the food is dropped off, it was hard to catch our server. However, it was still a really great time and the food came out very fast, which I was very impressed by. They also have bottle service!

I don't know much about southern food but my god do they make their food here with love. The cornbread comes as two corn muffins which was a little drier but it went so well with the honey butter! The soul rolls are top tier. Eyes rolling back good. You can't skip this. I've had so many things on the menu and everything was amazing. Amazing flight and house margarita. They have a great happy hour that keeps me coming back! Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Ambiance is very hip and modern. Love coming here to watch sports. They have their own parking space but there's also street parking. I highly recommend!

Is brunch on Saturday 21+ or can we make a resy and come eat with our kids?

You can definitely make a resy and bring kids. It is not 21 and up. It’s an r&b brunch.

Is there a kids menu? Looking for a spot for Easter brunch and was curious if you has a kid friendly menu.

Will you guys start opening early again? Been wanting to bring my coworkers for "lunch" here but didn't know you guys started opening at 3 😭

Hey Melanie we open at 10am on Saturday and Sundays but I can’t see us opening earlier during the week anytime soon… maybe we will trying it again next Summer. Just not enough business to make it make sense. Hope to still see you guys soon!

The reviews on this place are either A1 or trash, so I'm not sure what to think. Has anyone been there recently who can post an updated review?

Any review before June of this year is not talking about the same place. It opened under new ownership at that time. Under the previous owner it had really good food and reasonable prices, and then went way downhill toward the end on customer… Read more

We hadn't visited since February, 2020. Before the pandemic might as well have been 10 years ago, if the world shut down 6 years ago. We were overdue for a followup visit. Judging by how the food went down, we were sore for it. We ordered the Big Tex: four meats and four sides - tri-tip, brisket, pulled pork and links; kale greens, bbq beans, mac and cheese and fries. We opted for the cornbread in the roll slot. It should be the top meats in your order, by premium scale and availability, but more often than they should be, the brisket/tri-tip selections are, 90%, obligatory orders. I think I have a love/hate relationship with the way LA treats the pepperoni pizza of bbq meats. Swinging Door broke us off proper though. Not too fatty. Great tenderism. And the accompanying sauce complemented the smoked all stars, rather than compensated for lack of flavor. Didn't stop me from loving their Whiskey bbq sauce though. The beans were a true bbq side, swimming in a mild sauce and containing lovely chunks of link. And the kale greens - sheesh - I think they might've switched to kale since our first visit. An effective exercise in alternative ruffage that holds seasoning and jucies for a similar bbq/soulfoud bite. We live further away now. Took the food to go, to prevent the intermittent rain from foiling more of our plans. It traveled well. And since I'm using our leftover bbq sauce on every other meal I cook, I'd say we successfully made do with our lunch substitute.

I honestly wish I had ordered more than two. The fresh juices were also a standout; the Pineapple Ginger and Hibiscus were both spot on. Even the imported ginger beer from Kingston was really good. The jerk wings were absolutely delicious, and those small bread rolls (similar to cornbread muffins) were super tasty. The peas and rice and the plantains were also on point. Now for the downsides, the oxtails were disappointing. They weren't very meaty, and at $35 a plate, I expected more than mostly bones. I did get one decent piece, but overall it didn't feel worth the price. The vegetables were also bland. Dessert was another letdown. The sweet potato pie wasn't sweet enough and had an overpowering nutmeg flavor. The cobbler was undercooked, the crust was raw and inedible, and the peaches tasted like they came straight from a can. Overall, a mixed experience, but I'd still come back for the patties, wings, and fresh juices.
