Not only is the food good, but the set up, color scheme, the presentation of the ingredients, is simply a full on delicious experience. I love all of the options for toppings. I love knowing that I can make a pizza that can really fit my mood instead of just having options for pepperonis or plain. I always get ovalini, ricotta, and feta cheeses, bacon, chicken and sausages for meat, and top it off with roasted garlic cloves, onions, kalamata olives, and artichokes, along with pesto. Not obeying social distancing in the restaurant. The employees directed me to move up in the line when the person next to me was a foot away from me. 22 customers were in the line trying to order pizzas in the store on 9/19/2020. When I said I wanted to wait to complete my pizza order, they rolled their eyes and were annoyed at me as if I was the problem for calling it out. The manager needs to do a better job of enforcing social distancing. I understand it's busy, but don't prioritize getting pizzas in the oven when you haven't rung up the 7 guests waiting to pay and create a jam of people. FOOD QUALITY: Ingredients were still high in quality and consistent with their Pasadena location, so everything tasted fresh. However, their execution wasn't as great as the pizza ingredient ratios were a little off: too much cheese leading to excessive oil dripping or too many toppings leading the crust unable to support being lifted up anywhere. SERVICE: Staff is enthusiastic and friendly, but they work a little slow such that the line didn't chug along continuously and had some stop-and-go traffic. ENVIRONMENT: Modern decor, clean when cleaned, and very spacious with many seats available both indoors and outdoors. Went just before lunch at 11:45 and the line was already out the door. I felt a little rushed getting our order in but they made the food fast and the pizza is delicious, if you like a thin crust style. We primarily went to this location because of the gluten free crust. My daughter discovered it a while back and loved it. This time the gluten free pizza came out with burnt crust; burnt to the point where I was debating whether or not to take it back immediately. Instead I figured I'd let my daughter try it and if she liked it just leave it be but before it was even cool enough to take a bite the manager stopped by to ask how everything was. She saw the burnt crust and just as I explained what my take on the situation was she said I'll make you another one. While we waited we snacked on the burnt one but my daughter couldn't get past the taste of it so she didn't eat more. The manager also came back with three free soda cups which was a really nice gesture, although I had just convinced my daughters to get water, for health reasons. The second pizza came out a little burnt around the edges but it was palatable enough and my daughter ate it all, except for the very end of the crust. Turns out they changed the gluten free crust. The manager said it was changed because patrons didn't like the old crust or liked this one better? My question is, how did she know that? We definitely weren't asked because the old crust was way better. It was sooo good and very similar to the flour based one. It also wasn't so thin that the crust burnt easily around the edges and a bit thicker in the middle, so you could pick it up without the toppings falling right off. Basically I'm giving this place 4 stars for the extra service one employee (the manager?) gave us during our visit. It was above and beyond the norm. As for the food, It's only 3 stars since the new gluten free crust sucks and when it comes to bang for your buck this place does not hold up to the test. The pizza is good but the price is high for what you get - an individual thin crust pizza with a mediocre amount of toppings. For $10 I can get a large two topping pizza with the same amount of toppings or more and a lot more crust. I guess it just depends on what your taste buds and wallet say to you. This might be 5 stars for those who like the style of pizza and have a fat wallet to boot. Not sure if because this location is in a college town the need for customer service does not matter to them or what but the staff definitely needs to be retrained on customer service. Today they mixed my pizza up with another persons and luckily I did not find out until I got home. When I told the gentleman who was cutting up and firing up the pizzas that he gave me the wrong pizza he gave me a nasty attitude and told me that I should have "noticed." Now this is a restaurant i wish they had in reno/sparks. The concept is ingenious. It is very much like subway or port of subs. You get in line and build your own personal pizza for 7.95. You can put as many toppings or as little as you want. The cool thing is the pizza is thin crust and takes only three minutes to cook. It comes out piping hot, because it is cooked in a 600 degree pizza oven. The dough is made fresh every day and not frozen. The pizza was cooked perfectly, crispy but not burnt. The line was literally out the door the entire time were there. This restaurant has been open for three years. To have the line out the door after three years, they have to be doing something right. Blaze's crust is thin, which sometimes has that burnt taste or burnt marks depending on how long it's been in their fire oven. Personally, thin crusts aren't my taste. I like the fluffier hand tossed pizza. But Blaze does get 4 stars from me because of their toppings and their quality. I tried the green stripe and the meat eater, which are both on complete different ends of the spectrum. Green stripe is more healthy tasting than meat eaters. But I feel like meat eater has the right amount of toppings and sauce. This is a new place in UTC and I can definitely see success coming it's way. It's fast and inexpensive. I'm glad Blaze specifies that the "Fast" in its name only refers to "Fast-Fire'd," because it's definitely not a fast experience. I mean, once you order, they're not lying when they say it only takes 180 seconds or so to cook your pizza. The problem is, it takes closer to 180 minutes to put your order in. The line is going to be ridiculous at any time you want to be eating here, so do whatever you have to do to survive it: pay a needy college student nearby to wait for you, bring a book and a portable urinal, eat another meal while you're standing there, etc. etc. The pizza's actually kinda worth it. For one, it has a leg/dollar up on places like Pieology by charging $7.95 for a build-your-own. Second, the crust is well-suited for stacking toppings without being either too doughy or cardboardlike. Also, while some of the meat looks rather sad (I'll never touch the pepperoni, for instance), they've got a good selection of vegetables including basil and non-pizza offerings, which I've never seen in person. Also beer, if that's your thing. I do occasionally Blaze up later on weeknights and it's much emptier then, so if you ignore the guilt of eating your own pizza after 9 you should be good. read more

My wife and I came in here on a Tuesday at 5pm, line was out side the door not a big deal. Customer service was a big deal though. Started with no greeting and rude employees. Prices are great the ingredients are all fresh even the sausage is the traditional crumbled not the east coast sliced. I may or may not be addicted to Blaze. Whenever I'm in the UCI area, I almost always eat here. The restaurant offers suggested creations, but the most popular is the build your own via an assembly-line set-up. You can even add vegan cheese or request a gluten free crust for $2 extra. The line may be out the door during lunch, so if you're in a rush, make sure you order online. Once you arrive at the the restaurant, you can cut the line and head straight to the cash register. The staff will then place your pre-made pizza in the oven, reducing your wait time significantly. However, make sure you double check that they do indeed place your pizza in the oven because I've run into a few situations where they have forgotten. I think for the price, options, and quality, Blaze makes for a wonderful lunch/dinner. Though there are a few similar pizza chains that have popped up in the area (e.g. MOD, Pieology), Blaze holds the #1 spot in my book solely because I love the thin/soft crust here. Blaze Pizza is basically Chipotle but for pizza. Blaze Pizza has the same set up as Chipotle, where you go down the line and tell them what you want on your pizza. The only difference is that have "Signature Pizzas" that you don't have to build. Food The ingredients were decent and reasonable when considering the $5-7 dollars you are paying for a pie. We made our own pizza and were beyond satisfied with it. If you build your own pizza and don't like it, it's basically your own fault. If you want to enjoy your experience I suggest you think twice about your toppings before selecting the whole loot. Personally, I think they can do much more with their selection of toppings but I'm not complaining it was still good. They do have other ingredients that aren't presented in the case such as oregano and basil. Staff The staff looked MISERABLE; not a pretty site to see if I must say. They didn't seem to follow protocol either. I noticed our server couldn't find a utensil for the sausage bits and decided to use the cheese utensil instead; Correct me if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure that's cross-contamination. I love the concept of unlimited toppings for a set price but I'm not sure if I love the pizza. I came in here with my friend a couple weeks ago wanting to check out this place. We got gluten free dough and only added a couple of toppings. The dough cost extra but definitely wasn't a necessary change since neither of us are allergic to gluten and it didn't taste any different. The pizza was made quickly and smelled delicious but the dough was extremely thin and super soggy. I could barely pick up a tiny slice without it collapsing and toppings flying.
