We hired Rock Solid Landscape & Irrigation to extend an existing rock bed with vinyl edging to match what we already had. The proposal and rendering illustrated vinyl edging all the way around -- but mid-project, the crew told us there would be an extra $1,500 charge to add it to the outer edges beneath our fence line. The conversation we had with the onsite crew was about bumping the bed back past the fence line (like our previous bed already was), while apparently they were referencing adding vinyl edging to the back fence line. After the rock went in and they called it "done," we were told it would now be $3,000 more just to add vinyl edging along the back side -- leaving us with rocks spilling into our neighbors' yards. This is a textbook case of hidden change fees and poor project management. Jeff, the project manager, allowed the crew to deliver and communicate a major change order without ever clarifying with us. Once complete, Jeff told us that "natural edging" was the norm for most projects - although during our initial consultation and walk through before work started, the term "natural edging" had NEVER come up. We were also told over and over that the work they were doing would match our existing bed (which has vinyl edging all the way around). Jim, the owner, backed this up with ego instead of taking responsibility for his team's miscommunication and doing right by the customer. Their lack of accountability, empathy, and detail was the downfall of this project. Alex and the crew did great physical work, but it's a shame their effort is overshadowed under such unprofessional leadership. This company has a pattern of hidden fees and misaligned expectations. Would NOT recommend.

I had been a customer for over 7 years. Last week I tried starting my sprinkler system. There…read morewere parts lying on the ground and a cracked plastic top by the system shut offs. The system was not working. Everything was working fine until Best Irrigation winterized my system last fall. I called the company and they told me there must be damage from the freeze that had happened. This damage was not communicated to me, noted in the service techs notes, nor anything said about any damage that could have happened because of the freeze. The parts were lying on the ground and parts were obviously broken. The service tech told me everything went fine. If parts were lying on the ground and cracked parts, then there was obvious damage and it should have been communicated. If I knew there was damage I would have scheduled an appointment. The lack of communication is unacceptable and I will be finding a new irrigation company. I spoke to Best Irrigation and they did not want to remedy or help fix the problem.

Took a deposit of $250 and left my yard in worse condition. Started the job and their equipment…read morebroke, leading to huge drag lines across the main part of my backyard, leaving the yard in worse condition than when they started. (I was using them to level the backyard and seed) I agreed they didn't need to come back right away for leveling, and that they could wait until sprinkler system was in place for seeding. That took a while due to delays from the sprinkler company, but when finally done I contacted them and I was asked if the owner could stop by and have access to the backyard when I wasn't home. I said that wouldn't work due to needing to go through the garage to get there (no access gate yet), but that I could be there within a 20 minute notice, or schedule something. From that point forward I was ghosted... by the OWNER! So I paid $250 to make my yard WORSE by this company. If they would have at least refunded the deposit I wouldn't be here warning others to stay away. I thought about small claims court just to prove a point, but I just don't want to take the time.
