No staff are crb checked even though they are locked in a room with children. My daughter lost her adult front tooth when the party she was with were playing against adults (she is 8) she got hit in the face with an adults gun and now needs dental treatment for life. It states on their website that children are matched like for like and parents are only their to support their children however these adults were playing and hurting the kids and no staff intervened. When my daughter told a member of staff she was let out of the room and nobody accompanied her and they let her walk up stairs by herself to find her friends mum on her own. She had just been hit in the face and had a possible head injury and had already lost 1 of her adult teeth and the first aid was poor (putting an ice pack on an exposed nerve is only going to cause more pain) I spoke to 3 members of staff all of which had very different stories. I was told by 111 that if we could retrieve the tooth then they would be able to reattach it. The staff wouldn't allow us to look in the room as they said they had parties booked so it wouldn't be fair. I asked if any staff were looking and she said she had 1 member of staff looking with a torch inbetween parties going in and out. She wasn't prepared to use anymore staff on this and be short staffed for the sake of a chipped tooth. She told me she was the supervisor then when my husband got there he spoke to a young boy who also claimed to be a supervisor who wouldn't allow anyone to look for the missing tooth. (Just to reiterate this was an adult front tooth cut in half with an exposed nerve) I then later spoke to someone claiming to be a director who said there wee 5 members of staff looking for it and contradicted a lot of what the staff had said. The so called "supervisor" who i spoke to was incredibly rude and confrontational and i was shocked that she was able to work with children. There are a lot of very young staff working with kids here who clearly dont understand child protection and safeguarding.On top of this I have found out that the staff are not crb checked yet are left in a dark room with children all day. This is a huge incident waiting to happen for any predators wanting to make an easy target. This is increased risk given that young children play against parties of adults. I will never go here again and would advise anybody i care about personally to do the same.

Telly for sports if that's what floats you (which I'm guessing you could have predicted yourself from the name), pool tables, darts and the like. Pros: - Property - beautiful, picturesque, well maintained. - Amenities - the Stable Pub is fantastic, great food and beverage selection. The breakfast was also incredible, traditional English breakfast with plenty of selection for everyone. - Price - very reasonable for a nice facility! - Staff - great staff at the desk and Stable Pub. Took great care of us and responsive. The manager in the Stable was great and made us feel at home. Cons: - Room - incredibly small. While comfortable and had basic amenities, but our room was very small. The bathroom was also very basic with the smallest shower I have ever seen. The amenities are nonexistent. The soap was a squeeze bottle mounted to the wall with the shower having a combination "hair/body" wash. - Air Conditioning - fortunately it wasn't terribly hot but found the air conditioning in common struggled to keep things cool. This was common in all areas including the wedding and reception as well as Stable Pub. The room had a potable fan because there was no air conditioning. We weren't in the room during the day but it was warm at night. The beauty and staff at the property made it great. The facilities are very nice but be forewarned about some of the idiosyncrasies. I'd recommend but likely ask for a bigger room and a bath with a tub and shower.

So, as a wedding venue it was really good. It was actually my first wedding so I don't really have anything to compare to, but the service was streamlined and lovely - a special highlight was the bride coming down the isle to a wonderful acoustic version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow - it felt like a Wes Anderson film! But everything went perfectly smoothly, all of the staff were excellent and there were no hiccups whatever. The meal was probably a 4/5, but I didn't really care by that point! The evening entertainment was basically a not huge dancefloor with some decent pop songs and a few random awesome choices (Crazy Crazy Nights - get in!!!). So as an alternative to a church wedding, this was rather excellent. Now, from the 1:30pm start, the night went on and on after the scheduled entertainment, into the bar area and reception area until maybe 4-5am for a couple of us. One thing that we benefitted from was the presence of other random guests staying at the hotel who hadn't been there long and so still fancied a drink when most had gone to bed! For this, the bar selection was pretty decent. Lot's a variety in the spirits department, and a couple of good draught drinks - I was mostly on draught Budweiser, which I don't see very often. Also, at £3.50 the price could have been a lot worse! Anyway, the room was clean and spacious, with a really big, comfortable bed. Breakfast was surpringly awesome as well - a couple of different types of sausages and hash browns for example for a bit of variety. Of course, I couldn't finish what I'd started and had to go back to bed for an hour before leaving, but all in all it was an excellent experience, and one which I'd love to do again. Oh and they have both giant Jenga and giant Connect 4 in the garden - and who doesn't love them?!?!

I've stayed here a couple of times but I never remember the name of it, as it used to be something…read moreelse, so today I was in Harrogate and went past specifically to find out the name. Anyhoo, it's a really wonderful hotel. It's modern, and I think interior designer peeps would say it is full of 'clean lines' or something. My room had a 'feature wall' behind my bed with massive horizontal burgundy and gold stripes - very fancy and plush and nice it was. The staff were great, particularly as they had to cope with 50 rowdy teachers plus other conference attendees during the day (in the lovely atticy room at the top of the hotel overlooking that needle thingy in the square outside), then during the meal at night, then again for brekkie in the morning. The food was delicious, again very modern (the lunch looked like a work of art, with that stuff drizzled around the plate and things balanced everywhere. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay, or even have a wedding or event. Great hotel.

In fact, I'd urge more people in my bracket getting out and seeing some of our Leeds local talent. The last visit saw me checking out Leeds Youth Orchestra, for a fantastic evening of music, which went well beyond just the classics. The drum kit, for example, even appeared to have a Grolsch bottle. Exciting times. The space, much like The Grand, is a stunner. You could sit and take in the ceiling detail alone for a good hour, with the gorgeous detail and exquisite colour. I've always been intrigued by the curious and slightly socialist style statements painted high on the walls, and loved exploring the holding cells every light night. Here's hoping there's something special on again this year. In any case, being situated around a number of excellent bars and eateries, it's the perfect spot to check out some fantastic music from the International Concert Season programme, and then nip across town for a post-event sup. If you've still not managed to check it out, go have a goosey gander. It's one of our local treasures!

Leeds Beer Festival!!! Bloody brilliant…read more I truly think that there could have been scope for a huge amount of music but there wasn't! I also think that the booklet was vastly under informative. There was a fantastic list of breweries and he beers they sold. But there was no specific and accurate detail of where hey actually were. But the company made this beer Fest for me. Roweena was funny and amazing but Tori was an absolute Angel who kept us all together. From drinking to sing songs and back to drinking. This was an amazing event made so much more better because of the friends who were there. Fist bump anyone??

Now the address may imply that this is some American teen angst show but believe me Pudsey Civic…read moreHall isn't. No psycho nonsense chat in sight just a nice venue tucked away in Pudsey. It's not the most impressive place to look at from the outside but the hall offers some good events. It's a main central focal point of the area and is probably one of the main places to check out if you want to try something a bit different. First up, you'll find fairs galore. The Giant Military and Collectables fair is a regular activity and attracts quite a number of stalls and people alike. Throughout the year there are also toy fairs and craft shows. One of my favourite events is the Leeds CAMRA beer, cider and perry festival. You may've guessed booze would be involved somewhere down the line and yes I don't like to disappoint. You'll be able to sup silly named ales, drink around the world and then fall out of the door into a taxi. It's not big and it's not clever but it's lots of fun. So if you want to think somewhat out of the box (oh dear I've gone into management jargon now, flog me now), then this is a cracking option to look at.

A great location for this hotel though - right opposite the royal baths, and the HIC centre for exhibitions. It's at the bottom of the high street, you're just minutes walking from Betty's, The Stray and other points of interest. You're also a five minute walk from the train station. If you choose to stay here, it should be for the location and if you're ok with a very fawlty towers style, this will suit you. The whole hotel needs repainting, my room was above the pool and smelt like chlorine. The corridors smelt musty. The staff were mainly unhelpful besides one or two. They stop serving breakfast at 9 on the dot, and I only managed to escape with a gross old banana and apple which weren't edible at all. There is a pool which looks half decent, and a small gym. Gym equipment is old and doesn't calibrate properly, it kept telling me to do my cool down and I had to reset again and again. In a nutshell, if you were paying 40 a night, you'd probably be ok with staying here. I paid 104 and was glad to get outta there the next morning. Oh, but not before my shower fell on my head and then bashed me in the ankle. Dang. Would love to see this place redecorated and restored to what I'm sure was it's former glory. It's a beautiful building in a great spot.

The hotel has undergone a complete…read morerefurbishment since then and the swimming pool and Leisure Club is now closed - a staff member told me that it closed about 4 years ago. The hotel has now achieved high standards. My bedroom was compact but very well provided with all the usual amenities including tea/coffee, toiletries, etc and everything was comfortable. The shower was excellent. The hotel has free Wi-Fi in all the bedrooms as well as the public areas and this worked very well with no fuss. I didn't eat any other meals but breakfast was very good - the usual self-service arrangement. No grapefruit but a very nice fruit compote instead. No black pudding either but more than made up for by having the best mushrooms I have ever had at a hotel breakfast. There are some very elegant public lounges on the ground floor and a hotel bar (not tried). Good decoration throughout. Staff all very pleasant. The hotel is located opposite the magnificent Royal Hall theatre, which is a very central location in the town. The theatre is probably the most beautiful in the UK so if you are staying in this hotel do book something in the theatre if you can. My expectations before I arrived were not super-high but I didn't find any significant fault with the hotel at all and I would definitely be happy to stay there again, and probably will.
