I have been enjoying this gorgeous beach for over 25 years now- surprised I've not submitted a review before. My friends and I have a ritual of coming to this beach on New Years Day (last year was the first year we couldn't due to the king tides). We bring roses and "plant" them on the shore to remember the loved ones we've lost. Today was another of these special days

Pretty secluded beach, went on a Saturday and there were just a handful of people on the beach. But the beach is so long that you'll often feel like you're the only one there. The sand is nice and it's very scenic. Great place for a nice walk It's a nice hike down but the trail to get there is currently closed, likely because the trail to get to the last part of the beach has been worn out so it's a little bit sketchy to get down (if you must go, near the end where the trail meets the beach, the path on the left seems to be the safest).

Experience absolute tranquility on this - if you're lucky - much less visited beach just off the 1. A must stop, but it does require some physical exertion as you descend to reach the blind beach.

Apart of Sonona Coast State Park. When you see this sign, turn onto this road go get to the beach

Blind: Sightless; lacking the ability to see. Beach: An area of sand or stones beside the sea. Blind Beach: A mesmerizing escape from reality. Tucked away at the tail end of Sonoma Coast State Park within the beautiful little town of Jenner lay this immaculate little beach. With its' calming waves and beautiful sunsets, it's sure to relieve even the most stubborn of stresses. From Highway 1 coming south, you'll turn left on Goat Rock Road. While driving down this windy road, you'll first see a parking lot that's set high on top of the hill. This viewpoint is known as the "Blind Beach Arch-View" and casts a gorgeous picture of Blind Beach and the Sonoma coastline down below. This is an excellent spot to catch a sunset without becoming captive to the blusterous wind chills of the ocean. It will still be very cold, but not as cold as the actual beach itself. After exploring this viewpoint, you can continue down the road until you reach the beach where it dead ends. This is where the real fun begins. Bliss. That's what you'll be in as you meander through all of the pretty pebbles and soft sand along this beach. Although Blind Beach is located within Sonoma Coast State Park, it's very secluded and almost hidden from plain sight. The rock formations are stunning. There's a rock right in the center of the beach that resembles El Arco in Cabo San Lucas. The waves are ferocious but oh so charming and also quite calming. Since the waves are very active here, they should be enjoyed from afar. I wouldn't swim in this beach for fear of being swept away. However, getting your feet wet and walking along the beach is perfect. Since the waves are so powerful, they come with strong winds. Bring something to bundle up in because it gets really cold, especially when the sun starts to go down. When walking down to the beach, be mindful of the rocks as they aren't the most comfortable to walk over. I would wear flip flops at minimum to walk over the rocks. There are restrooms on sight and plenty of places to park throughout the beach. The sunsets are absolutely stunning here. I just couldn't get enough of it. The water is clear and waves are so white. I had to do a double take because I almost forgot that I was still in the Bay Area. But alas, it is the beautiful Bay. This is one of the most beautiful beaches that I've been to on the Sonoma coast. I can't wait to get back to those calming waves again someday soon.

Spent the afternoon with my best friend...a month later he would pass away. That afternoon was perfect....I miss him more and more everyday. R.I.P. Pete :-(

We choose to go to Blind Beach over Goat Rock Beach as dogs are allowed if they are on leashes. There is a good little hike down to the beach. On the way back up it is fairly steep so it is a great workout. The beach has a great view of Goat Rock and is full of rocks - not much sand here. It is so much fun to walk around looking at all the beautiful rocks. Definitely worth the stop.

It's just an OK beach, not impressed. There's lots of irresponsible dog owners not picking up their dog's poop. So watch out where you step.

Can you go swimming is there lifeguards?

No lifeguards here. Considering how cold it is and how dangerous this stretch of coastline is, I would not recommend swimming.

I went exploring around a large rock named Goat Rock. I did not see any of the hoofed ungulates on my visit. To the south of Goat Rock, the beach was a little narrowed with occasional pieces of rounded sea glass and intact mussel shells. I picked one of the shells up and noticed a faint violet color. It was one of those light phenomena where exposure to light drains the color from the shell, meaning the next day the faint violet color was gone. Parking was limited and I was fortunate to arrived before the masses. There were not any trees for shade on the beach, though the cool of the water on my feet did provide reprieve from the warmth for my feet.

I walked the Kortum Trail - it's a beautiful trail with stretches of wooden paths, sprawling greenery with mountains to on side and the, coast along the other. This trail leads to goat rock. It's a pretty steep incline towards the end but worth the views when you reach the top. It's a 2.3 mile round trip hike. I wish I had read a little history before I went on the hike, I later learned the large rocks you can see from the trail are named "Mammoth Rocks" it's believed the Mammoths rubbed against the rocks and created smooth polished patches 10-14 ft high. If you love the water, you can appreciate a nice beach regardless of the context or the particular environment. That being said, this is the kind of beach that I love the most. Quiet and secluded, no one around, down a long walkway and away from most everything. I could spend all day in a spot like this just napping and listening to the waves crashing in. If you're coming down this part of the coast it's definitely worth a stop if only just to take it in for a moment. There are a few trails that run around the hills overlooking it if you feel like taking a hike and seeing some amazing views, and a short trail that leads to the beach itself from the small parking lot.
