A decent inexpensive local place to grab sushi! My nieces (9&11) love very basic sushi so this is a great option for them and for me to get some afternoon sushi. Waitress had a pre-attitude. This became my problem immediately. Did not check on the table. Staff spilled ketchup under my seat and never cleaned it up. Warm beers. Bill came with tip included. I'm sure the waitress did this because she was obviously not getting one. Owner was here but the coward disappeared when this all happened. Unreasonable. Do not recommend. I would recommend this place because the food is very good. However, just be aware that the sushi and the regular menu items are made in separate kitchens. So, if some at your table order sushi and some order from the regular menu, the food is not guaranteed to come out together. Which isn't a big deal other than on Monday there was a mixup on whether or not my sushi order was going to be able to be prepared or not due to a problem with a rice cooker. Back-and-forth back-and-forth at one point the manager told me she would comp my meal because the sushi wasn't coming (and I'd have to order off the regular menu). I thought that was generous and I thanked her then she came back and said actually the sushi is ready which was great because it's what I wanted, credit cards and she said she would "discount" my sushi however the "discount" was only 10% off each (2) sushi orders so $2.75 was my discount after waiting...my daughter received her food and finished it all while this back-and-forth was happening. I was honestly shocked at only 10%. I probably should have complained but I didn't wanna be "THAT" person to complain, but if you are that type and you have an issue, it's worth it to question it because it doesn't seem like they're going to offer you much off as a discount if there's an issue. I don't understand how they went from "comping our whole order" to $2.75 off my bill. So again part of it it's on me. I didn't wanna make a fuss but just be aware of it if there's an issue, you might have to speak up for yourself. read more

Service was good, but sushi was very bad. Seaweed salad and shrimp taco great. Philadelphia roll: daughter said salmon tasted like plastic. Blind owl roll: both daughter and I agreed it was the worst sushi we've ever had. Description said tempura shrimp topped with salmon. I believe it was actually coconut shrimp topped with smoked salmon and jam. Also, it was hot, which made for a gross seafood cheese sweet fondue vibe. Disgusting. Also, quite pricey. read more

#TacoTuesday! Buy 2, get 3. The puffy shells are #TD4! We had the beef with sides of ruce and black beans, both good-the veabs were stellar! The Merlot and Mojito () was a perfect accompaniment! We were hungry so I didn't get pics of the tacos but Myranda and Janice convinced us (didn't take much) that our night wouldn't be complete (yes, there was an upcoming bday) w/o the fried cheese cake. I chose this place for my birthday because of the location and coupon for a free birthday appetizer. The menu is overwhelming but we decided to try the street tacos. They were ok but we did enjoy the roasted Brussel sprout appetizer. It was delicious and large enough for 4 people to share. However, the service was not friendly and borderline rude. We felt like we were putting the waitress out every time we asked a question or a request. I returned on St. Patrick's Day with another friend, hoping to enjoy a Reuben sandwich. They did not offer any corned beef on St. Patrick's Day. What a disappointment. Again, the service was not friendly. I'll try the other restaurants in the area before going back here. read more

This was my first time here! The service was amazing. While the restaurant was a bit slower, we were greeted by an enthusiastic waiter who was super kind and attentive. I saw a picture of their grilled cheese online and of course had to try it. Absolutely amazing! The outside had a perfectly crispy cheese crust and the inside was gooey and perfect. Highly recommend. Of course, because we were there for brunch, I needed to try something sweet and also sampled the French toast. It was alright, nothing great, the same as you'd get at a Coney Island. Stopped in on Sunday early afternoon as I been doing that quite often on Sunday's as they have a brunch menu which is really good. I always get the boom Shakalaka burrito which is amazing! It's very filling as I only eat half of it. The bar server is usually Abby and she is absolutely the best!! Super friendly and very attentive. Ordered the two taco plate without any drinks and was charged $26. Two people in our party had their orders changed to more expensive meals. While not the restaurant's fault, part of the experience was having the metered parking double charge me, which added another $5.20 to my meal. Thus each taco cost $15.60. Went to the restaurant for an early dinner. the restaurant was mostly empty except for bar. We were the only customers waiting to be seated but no one greeted us for almost 10 minutes to include the bar tender whom I'm certain saw us waiting. We have been to this restaurant several times with excellent service and food. We will give it a chance again another time, but it shouldn't be hard to watch the door when customers arrive. read more

Came here on a Thursday afternoon around 130 for lunch. Plenty of seats open for your choosing but got a little more business by 2-230. Bartender was super attentive and had great recommendations. Food & beverage: Started with margaritas and weren't disappointed. Oh, we also started with chips & chipotle salsa PLUS the loaded fries. That's a meal in itself so get a to-go box for those before you order entrees. Please note the menu highlights vegan and gluten free options but they don't have a designated fryer. Celiacs be careful. I did very well with their mahi mahi & sweet pork house tacos. The hubby got street tacos (regular diet guy) and loved them. Parking: behind the bar has a small lot but there looked to be quite a few parallel spots around the place Prices. Were. Awesome! We only spent $60! 4 drinks total, 2 apps, and 2 plates of tacos. We had a party of 6 people. I was happy they took reservations especially on a Friday night. We got there and they were packed. Could have been because they had live music or the fact that New Baltimore is a hot spot these days with lots of great restaurants. I ordered a cranberry mule which came in a very large copper mug. It was delicious! They have many beers on tap and a pretty big cocktail menu. They serve Latin American cuisine with many options. I ordered chicken enchiladas. There were three that came with beans and rice. It was tasty! They also have a fresh sushi bar. My husband ordered the Blind Owl roll which had salmon in it. He said it was very good! Others in our party ordered a Cubin quesadilla, mahi tacos and banging shrimp tacos. Everyone loved their meals. Service was great even though they were busy. I will definitely be back! read more

I'm updating my previous review; the tacos today were fantastic. And the crispy Brussels were amazing. I got a Birria, dynamite shrimp and a mahi mahi taco. They served it with a Birria sauce. It wasn't the traditional Birria dip but this sauce was so good. It tasted like a chipotle bbq sauce. It went really well with each of my tacos. My wife had a carne asada and a couple ground beef tacos and I had a bite of the carne asada and I loved it. I would give this place a 4.5 stars because my jalapeño margarita was just ok, nothing special. But this was a very welcome update from the last time I was here! Wow!!!! What a find....the Blind Owl is a hidden gem. New to the scene, the Blind Owl knocks it our out of the "water". They are known for their tacos and margaritas. I was meeting up with a friend ifor a drink and had to stop in here. I'm not familiar with this little area, but I loved it. I'll let you in on a little secret....Tuesday is the day to be here. I ended up ordering a Birria Taco with dipping sauce. It was delicious and very filling. Normally, I would get a margarita but they have one of my most favorite beers on tap., La Fin Du Monde. I was also impressed with their tap list. 32 taps to be exact, with fantastic beers. The bartender, Mike is great and so helpful. I will most certainly be back. read more

Place can't figure out what it wants to be. Decor is sterile, unimpressive, and reminiscent of a failing Detroit bar, about to go under. Hard backed seats, out of place back-wall mural, just nothing natural or inviting about the place; no character at all. Food is unremarkable and grossly overpriced. Cost is nearly 2x Imperial in Ferndale, and quality is half as good. Now it's trying to sell tacos and sushi?... Good luck... The issue isn't the number off offerings, sell better food, and fix your decor and people will come. read more
