So I was in Louisville for a work trip and looked at Google to find a place I've never tried. Up popped the blind squirrel, the food looked good so I headed over. Got to the restaurant and found out they have outdoor sand volleyball courts, which is when I knew I was in the right place for me! Walked in, and decided to cozy on up to the bar where I was greeted by Rachel, a fun loving bartender, who falls into the category of badass. A short time later, her coworker, Emily, who is just as badass showed up and started slinging food and drinks as well. I ordered the sliders and the wings, because I'd the online photos. Well let me tell you, the food tastes just as good as it looked in the photos. I would 100% recommend this place. We had a team lunch here with a party of about 16. The business wasn't too busy and I will have to compliment them on their turnaround time because the wait was really low considering the amount of people in our party. We ordered appetizers, the nachos, beer cheese and pretzels and the poutine. These were good and probably my favorite part of the overall meal. I ordered the beer cheese burger, no tomato. Two bites in and found that yucky tomato. Also, ordered it medium well and there was WAY too much pink headed to the center for me to feel comfortable. So I ate around the edges and the darker colors before abandoning the burger and just eating the bun and onion straws. While I wasn't in love with their food, I will say the service was great. The waitress had a steady pace keeping up with us and she was on it. Drinks filled, food served and was even considerate enough to have dessert chopped into finger food portions for us to pass around the table and share. With that being said, I probably wouldn't venture back here for meal but would consider checking out their volleyball area and maybe the bar. read more

This place is AWESOME and the food is AMAZING! Like the saying goes "Don't judge a book by it's cover" well "Don't judge a restaurant by some of the "dumb" reviews" after reading couple of the reviews I just shook my head. For example do I care about how many urinals/stalls there are in each restroom....NO! And about the "waits" big restaurants are going to attract big crowds therefore, most likely there is going to be a "wait", right?....Well then, I'm going to wait and see what it's all about...I mean it's got to be good if it's crowed and there's a wait, that's how I've always looked at things. When I walk into a empty restaurant first thought is are they open, where is everyone or maybe the food isn't the greatest?!? My overall experience.............my first thought was wow how spacious it was, tons of tv's, beautifully decorated (loved the seashells on the stage), outside patio was huge, and loved the bar with the roll up doors. I thought the food was more like gourmet bar food and not just all fried basic bar food. (I loved the Street Corn) We saw another table get the Rumpke Mountain Nachos and holy cow they looked amazing! I'm definitely getting those my next visit. Can't wait to go back! read more

First time coming here, ordered online for curbside pickup. We ordered car-go margaritas which were made upon arrival which I loved! They were great. We got the BLT and it was good, there was mayo on only half the sandwich though. We also ordered two chicken salad wraps, one with a bun instead of a wrap. Instead of the bun they gave me a wrap on the side ‍. I was so excited for the chicken salad because it comes with a bacon wrapped egg but neither of ours came with the egg unfortunately. Was such a let down. We called to let the manager know, and instead of making it better with us, he just kinda argued and didn't offer us anything. Very poor customer service, was very disappointing because I've heard such good things but my experience just wasn't the same. read more

This place is super fun and cute. Four coworkers and I stopped here for happy hour on a Wednesday evening. Happy hour is 4-7 pm with drink specials, but no food specials. I purchased a 9 oz. Chardonnay, a couple of coworkers purchased regular margaritas on rocks, and one coworker purchased a Yuengling beer. All were $5 each. One coworker purchased Bourbon Barrel Ale for $6. We all just got various appetizers and shared. Everything we got was delicious! The pretzels were soft and the beer cheese was a perfect blend. The potato skins were good. The pickle fries were awesome, but did have a bit of a kick on the end. The nachos were HUGE, seriously you could feed 5-6 people easily. The street corn was uniquely different and delicious. The vibe is so fun and casual! They have live music, a cigar lounge area, outdoor beach volleyball and the service was excellent. I would definitely return and recommend as well. read more

Overall this place is pretty awesome, so awesome seating can be difficult since everyone in town knows. The patio is nice and indoor seating is abundant unless it's prime time or a game is on. I've always enjoyed my visits to Blind Squirrel. It's always crazy busy, but the food is consistent. Nice venue as well.

I would agree with most of the reviews that this place is really loud!!! They did tell us it would be and hour wait and it was about 25 min. They don't seem to have a handle on wait time yet. It is a cool place for big groups but u need to be standing close to hear. The staff was really nice and helpful and they had a lot of great drink selections. I got the pimento cheese and bacon burger and seasonal veggies. It was really good, I would have to say I still like the Grind's pimento burger better. The pretzel and beer cheese was great. I actually would recommend the beer cheese. It's a fun atmosphere with friends!! I will definitely come back. read more

My wife chose this location for a small birthday party. Our hostess was very friendly, and immediately began to prepare tables as our guests arrived. Although it seemed to be a busy evening (parking lot was packed.) We were seated in short order. My daughter helped me select appetizers for our tables: Bacon cheese fries, nachos, cheesy bread and pretzels with beer cheese. All delicious and sharable. Although the kiddo would devour the pretzels on her own if given the chance. Everyone said they enjoyed their entrees. Personally, I can vouch for their Hot Brown. If you are going to run a restaurant in Louisville, and put Louisville's signature dish on your menu, you better do it right. The Blind Squirrel's version certainly delivers in both flavor and as comfort food. The only downside for the evening was that our waitress was somewhat curt and would disappear for long stretches. There appeared to be some form of drama that happened around the time we arrived and she was not terribly pleased to be serving our party. I can't wait to go back here. The atmosphere is fun, loud, but I like the big TVs during baseball season. I liked that it was open and the kids could go watch people playing volleyball while the adults waited for checks and boxes. I thought personally some of the tables were too close together but luckily we were seated far away from any other tables so we felt very safe. But my favorite part was the food! I did not expect, with it being a big sports complex, to like the food so much! And it wasn't just me, my entire family loved their meals. Brussel sprouts were very good. The sidewinder fries were so crispy and had a lot of flavor. I usually don't like a thick french fry but these were great. Also, the BLT was the best one I've had in the city. And I love a good BLT so I feel like I'm kind of picky about them and I've had a lot of really disappointing ones around town... A lot of soggy bread and under cooked stringy bacon. This was the opposite of that, everything about this BLT was awesome. Also it was gigantic so I took more than half of it home to my husband. All of the food was just a really flavorful. My sister and I really enjoyed the bourbon slushes. Our servers name was Summer and she was super sweet. It's not a place I would recommend for a romantic dinner, but a fun night out with a group of friends would be perfect and I would also drive out of my way to get takeout to see if the rest of the food is as good as what I had during this visit. read more

We first tried Blind Squirrel on a Sunday and it was pretty packed for a Sunday! It's a very family friendly spot with lots of great options for kids and groups. The service was good and we were able to find a table right away for how crowded it was. The menu was mainly bar food, but everything we ordered was very good! We ordered the pretzels and beer cheese, the chicken lettuce wraps. There weren't very many healthy options, but did have a cauliflower pizza crust alternative to a typical pizza. The weather while we were there was unfortunately not very great, but if it hadn't been raining, I think the restaurant would have a great outdoor/indoor feel. There were multiple garage doors that opened to the volleyball courts. I'd love to come back on a different day when the weather was nicer to experience the patio and outdoor dining! read more

My new Friday happy hour spot Stopped in here with the family for a Friday night dinner and at 5pm it was a little slow and we thought it was maybe bc it's new. However, by 6 it was packed with a wait at the door. Awesome new spot just down from shelbyville road and behind Walmart. It's attached to king Louie's volleyball courts with patio seating, view of the courts, and cornhole out there as well. The bar is definitely worth coming back for. Connected indoors and outdoors with a large beer selection and tvs for days. The music videos were a nice touch with some late 90s r&b. Big portions for appetizers and dinner so come hungry or be prepared to take a doggy bag. We went for burgers and were not disappointed! Cooked to order and they got it right! The kid cheese pizza tasted like maybe it was 3 cheese but I never looked at the menu so who knows, still tasty. My little one wanted a scoop of ice cream for desert and they brought out what looked like homemade strawberry ice cream with whip cream and a mint to dress it up. However if you go on the nights that have live music, even if you're in the wait list, no matter how long you've been waiting, once the live Maui starts, they will close down the wait list and say "there's no wait list, it's seat your self now, good luck". We have eaten here a number of times. The service has always been consistently good. They have a great outdoor patio and even the inside is fun. They are always playing old music video clips. My husband gets a huge kick out of this. The food is good. I highly recommend the nachos, they're amazing! We moved to Middletown 5 months ago, and I pass by here every day. I can't believe we haven't made it in until now - we've been missing out! I went with an All American Burger with seasonal veggies, just to be able to compare it to other restaurants. My husband went with the BBQ burger with a side of twisted fries. I expected the "seasonal" veggies to basically be broccoli, like every other restaurant. Instead it was a mix of asparagus, squash, zucchini, onions, and peppers, and was seasoned wonderfully. The burger was AMAZING. My husband loved his, and I agree - I may or may not have swiped a bite. We definitely both think the BBQ sauce is better than Feast's. We will be back! They have a pretty decent menu, and they have a huge patio that you can sit out on which my wife and I like to do because of Covid. They often have music on the patio as well.
