We bought blinds and had them installed some time ago. One of the connectors for the chain broke (a small plastic part) broke recently. I went to the store on Sportsworld Drive in Kitchener where I bought them and was told I had to by this piece for $3 or take the blind down and bring it in to have it covered under their warranty. This is a small piece that clips on. When I pushed back a little, I was told I could have 2 parts for the price of one (hilarious). This was a part that they dug out of a plastic bin and it took almost 5 minutes to process it on their computer. THEN... It turns out the part is $4.10+tax. What a horrrible warrranty/customer service expeerience. I recently purchased a set of vertical blinds for my kitchen sliding door. The price was very competitive, and it only took two days to fill my custom order, but I had a few problems with the blinds. First, i was given the wrong mounting brackets. I had specified an inside mount system, but recieved wall brakets for an outside mount instead. The store was able to exchange the brackets. Not a big deal, other than the extra trip into town. After installing the track, i started to hang the blinds and found that they were too long. I double and triple checked my height measurement, and there was no mistake. The store told me they were cut to the right length, and if I wanted to shorted them I'd have to do it myself. After a bit of complaining I was told to call customer service, where I was passed around a few times, and spent about half an hour on hold before I gave up. Cutting the blinds myself isn't the end of the world, but all in all it was a negative experience. Good price though. read more

I installed the blinds myself, but it turned out to be very difficult due to the poor design of the brackets. The left brackets were all built wrong in relation to the right bracket. If the bracket was to be fastened to the top of the window jam as the bracket is designed to do and the valence was to be between the jams as it was designed to do then it couldn't be done!! The left bracket would not open up. If you mounted the bracket on the side and left a 1/4" then yes you could open the bracket, but then the valence would hang down further leaving an unsightly gap at the top. I went back to the store to complain about the brackets and they only had one set of brackets that were built correctly. They ordered more in, but they also were non functioning. They told me that could not do anything as the brackets come from head office and they had no way to change it or to let them know there was an issue. So I ended up modifying the brackets to make them work correctly. In addition to this hassle the plastic clip that holds the valence in place is a joke. You cannot remove the valence without breaking at least on of the clips. Also the clip causes the valence to sit differently in some cases. It is not a consistent fit. I had ordered 4 blinds so this was very evident. Lastly I was disappointed with the cord design as well. Having multiple cords to raise lower the blind is just plain ridiculous! 4 or 5 cords are you serious. They don't resolve the issue of the child entanglement what so ever. They should have a clip that is designed to release at 20lbs similar to a neck lanyard. I can understand that the law has forced them to come up with this solution, but in reality it is not a solution just a way to get around the law and annoy the customer. read more
