Received my first facial and I must say it was so relaxing. I left with a glow and feeling so at ease. Liz was so calm and pleasant. She explained each step and made sure I was comfortable. Her spa is so inviting and has a welcoming ambience. I received a much needed shoulder massage during the facial. I am not sure what products were used but they did have a nice scent. With each application of product I felt my face becoming pure and clean. My favorite part was the warm steam flowing across my face. I love how soft my skin feels and how it glowed. By far some of the best customer service I have ever received. Liz is so professional and thorough. I haven't been waxed (Brazilian) since November and Liz was very gentle with me. Because I waited so long in between waxes it was like starting from square one but it was SO MUCH less painful than my first time of getting waxed due to her wonderful technique. I got a signature facial first because I wasn't quite sure how my skin was gonna react. I haven't gotten a facial since I was in my early-mid 20s. Liz explained to me what everything was and as she did each step on my face which was helpful. I have found my new fav Brazilian wax spot! Thanks to a client recommendation at work, I called Liz and came for my appointment and was given a towel and wet nap to start. She uses hard wax where paper is not needed and puts oil so your skin doesn't flake. It makes waxing sooooo much more comfortable and bearable! I initially found Liz through Groupon and decided to purchase the microdermabrasion package from her because of her high reviews. On my way to my first visit, I was frantic because I was running late and got confused as to where her business was located, and texted to let her know. She was super chill/understanding and gave me instructions on how to find her, which instantly put me at ease. When I arrived, she greeted me warmly, told me what I needed to do to prepare, and I quickly got settled onto the table. During the facial, she made sure to tell me what she was doing, what product she was putting on, and what the effect would be. When she started doing the extractions, she apologized for how painful it was, which I thought was considerate of her (although, it actually didn't hurt that much). I've had other estheticians who would ruthlessly attack my pores and even get irritated at me for crying out from the pain of their techniques, but Liz genuinely took care to minimize the pain. In fact, I was so relaxed during that first session that I actually fell asleep during the microdermabrasion part, and woke up feeling rested, with nice, smooth skin! I was so impressed that I even bought a package of six, which was pretty reasonably priced. I'll be upfront: I met Liz through friends. But I've gone to her for waxing because she's good at it. Her new space is small, easy to get to from 17 (park in the back and and go up the stairs) and even easier to get back on the road from, and very pleasant. She's got Square so you can pay by card conveniently. Liz is gentle, thorough and efficient. I did my own waxing for years, have been to other places too, and regularly get my armpits and my legs waxed, I've had it good and bad. The exact suite was a little hard to find, it's upstairs towards the back, last door on the left. It's pretty much just a small room with all the equipment, but it's enough to get work done. Walked in and it's just her, no receptionist to talk to, so she's ready to go. This was my first Brazilian in forever, like maybe a year plus, and it went pretty well. Liz and I talked the whole time during it, so it wasn't awkward. It only hurt during the pull, and after that it was good. This was also my first time using hard wax. I've only gotten then soft with the wax strips, and those usually took like ~30min. But Liz was really quick, and it only took ~18min. I'm currently pregnant, 7months right now, so I can't see down there, and Liz didn't really do much extra plucking to clean it up..and I did find like 6 hairs left. But when I asked my BF to check it out, he said it looks good haha so it's all good. I also paid with a Groupon that I got for $29, and she said the maintenance is $50. She texted me that day to say she was running 15-min late and I replied back that was perfectly fine and thanked her for letting me know. I got to her office at 12:10, sat in the hall and waited. By 12:30, I texted her twice saying I was in the hall and asked if she was going to be much longer (her office door was locked). I never heard back from her. I left at 12:45. I just texted her again today (Saturday 11/29) to ask if everything was ok, if she's still in business but no response. I appreciate that she sends you a reminder text a day before your appointment. She's in a new location now but it's only 10 mins away from her old one. Her new spot is a whole lot bigger. Then I call her and she tell me because I am 9 mins late so she cancel my appointment and give my spot to another person. Then I told her that she should let me know before canceling my appointment what she did not do. She should call me where I am or how long I need the time to reach her, but she didn't. Although when I call her she said me she cancel my appointment. I really don't understand is it fair to any customer? I am very very frustrated and disappointed of that kind of service.
