I had a pleasant experience- it was exactly what you'd expect from a blow dry bar. I made the appointment online the morning of and went in for 9:30 on a Saturday. Brianna did my hair and was very cautious about my nut allergy (making sure none of the products she used contained almond oil, which is a common ingredient!). We discussed the style I wanted (just a simple blow out/straight). When she was done, my hair had a little flip at the end. She could tell I wasn't completely happy and immediately offered to go over with a flat iron. She was still able to achieve my desired look within the 45 minute appointment block. ETA the salon followed up very promptly with me and discussed my concerns in detail, which I appreciated. We came to an understanding and they seemed to take the makeup concerns seriously. I had to split my rating because I got two services done- my blowout was 5 stars, my makeup was 0 stars. I got an incredible blowout with curls from Danielle- she made me look absolutely beautiful and they were probably the best curls I have ever gotten from a salon. I would recommend her in a heartbeat and would absolutely return for a blowout. I also really appreciated her flexibility with timing as she was able to accommodate an earlier time for me because I was getting my hair and makeup done before my bridal shower. The only thing that confused me was their extensions policy is unclear for some types of extensions. Unfortunately, I had an awful experience having my makeup done. The woman doing my makeup honestly did not seem like she had any professional experience or training, and most of the makeup products were drugstore brands or extremely limited in color options (for example, there were literally two options for eyeliner, black or dark brown). As just a few examples- (1) I asked for very thin eyeliner, she put a thick line of liquid liner and the line was visibly wobbly; (2) when she removed the liquid liner, she also took off part of my eyeshadow, but then did not try to replace the eyeshadow until I asked her to, so there was a visible bare space on my eyelid; (3) she kept asking if we were done after every separate part of the face, I had to ask her to also do my face and lips... (4) I asked for a petal pink lipstick and she literally gave me rust orange. Eventually, I just had her stop what she was doing so I would have enough time to fix it myself, which is what I did- I literally went home and took off almost all my makeup and just did it myself. It added a huge amount of stress before a special occasion and I can't believe I paid $75 to basically do my own makeup. read more

Every time I come to Blo Blow, I get incredible service and blow outs. Much like everyone who works here, they are all amazing and different in their own way. I went to get my hair done and was completely disappointed with how long it had lasted. I spent $45 for them to blow dry my hair with terrible products and only to have it fall completely flat and straight within an hour of having a styled. For whatever reason it seemed as if there is no explanation as to what products were used in my hair nor any information as to what was being done to my hair. It didn't take long for the curls in my hair to completely fall flat. By the time I got to where I was going nobody could tell I had my hair done. Wow. Talk about an absolute waste of money. For reference this was my 150th visit to a Blo location. Talk about the worst anniversary gift to ever exist. My appointment was for 9am. I was on time but my hair stylist didn't show up until 9:18am. At no point did she EVER apologize for being so late. The receptionist had to wash my hair because the stylist was so late and it was honestly the worst hair wash I've ever experienced. They can review the cameras - it felt like she was just tapping product on my hair and barely washing it out. The water was ice cold and she never asked me if the temp was ok or apologized that it was so cold. When I finally got to the hair stylist's chair I told her I didn't want any product except for shine spray. She proceeded to use several products during my blow out and gave me a style I didn't ask for. She burned my ears several times and while I winced each time she only apologized 1x when she hit the blow dryer against my forehead. Another stylist who came while I was there chose to blow dry and style her personal hair only 3 seats from me while the entire room was empty - I felt it was unprofessional. But she's lucky that she gets to clock in and then do her own hair on company time! I am unclear on the mask policy here - the receptionist wore one the entire time but both hair stylists never had one on. I am now having to go back to my hotel and wash my hair because it feels disgusting, dirty, and full of product. Also just FYI they require tips to be paid on Venmo or cash. You cannot pay on a credit card. In summary I wish I could give 0 stars. Avoid at all costs! read more

I'm so disappointed with how my hair turned out. I made an appointment to have my extensions installed and the stylist said she never worked with the type of extensions I had. After trying several times to install my hair she had her next client sitting next me me waiting for her hair to be done and that's when I got frustrated with the hair that I asked to wrap up the appointment. Recently opened so I thought they'd be interested in getting a new clientele. Not really... No smiles, no inviting feeling.. Had to " fight" to get a first blow out coupon , $5.00 off- it was not even mentioned until I saw it. The person who did my hair , Frances, had the most miserable attitude,barely uttered a few words. She was terrible at washing( barely touching my hair or scalp) and even worse at blow drying. What a disappointment. Would never venture there again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I went this weekend to get an "up-do" for a black tie wedding I was attending. When I left the salon, my hair looked fine (not the best but I was in a rush and didn't have time to have her fuse with it more), after my 10 minute drive home I felt my hair drooping, looked in the mirror and the entire "up-do" was completely undone! There for FIVE pins holding it together! Every other time I have gotten an up-do, the hair dresser basically used an entire packet of pins. Without a doubt the worst hair experience of my life, and I'm nearly 60. I made a reservation (I thought it was Glam Blow as it came up when I searched "blow Dry Lewis Street") the appointment was confirmed, and I explained I had 30 min because I was hosting my step-sons 30th birthday. When I arrived, all the stylists were busy. I was told there was no water or tea -- and no one seemed willing to run across the street toCVS to replenish.. after 10 min I emphasized that I was on a very tight schedule. The receptionist said she'd wash my hair. When she did not I tried to wash my hair myself. As an amputee, using their sink was difficult. The receptionist then came over and gave me the worst hair wash I've had. She then wanted to blow dry my hair without putting in product. She didn't know what product to put in. I became increasingly more frustrated. Then she started to blow dry and she burned my neck, which didn't blister, but left a mark. I got up and left with wet hair. Thank God Glam Blow took me. Well I never got the chance to actually experience blo dry bar because an hour before my appointment someone called me to say my stylist went home sick and they couldn't help me. No offer of a future time, no redeemable offer for the future, no real apology. Just 'we can't accommodate you' Obviously, at 2pm on a Saturday it's impossible to find anyone else with available appointments before my event this evening. I understand about people becoming sick but no apology or no way to make me feel like they even really care is upsetting and I will never attempt to visit this business in the future. Highly recommend that you go anywhere else. I've had good experiences at other Blo locations, but this was truly the worst blow out I've ever received. The stylist took an hour and half and my hair was so oily from all the products used that I had to wash it right after I left. I had my hair blown out here a few weeks ago. I have a lot of very thick hair and I could tell the stylist was overwhelmed by the amount of hair I had. In fact, she actually made me feel guilty and made negative comments the entire time about how much hair I have. I get my hair done almost 3x a month in another salon (that was booked up that day) and I know how long a blow out should take for my hair. It took my stylist at Blo about twice as long. I could've done a better blow out myself and regret spending any money there. Some pieces were straight, others more curly/bouncy. I had to go home and fix it before a bridal shower. I was there a month or two ago and got a terrible blow dry. Probably the worst blow dry bar experience. I had to get it redone at another salon. I called as soon as I left as well as four other times and each time was promised a follow up call by the owner and never received a call back. Let me start by saying I​ had a Groupon​, 3 blowouts​ for $87.00, The first time I went my hair was oily from the product and the girl took forever to blow out the​ hair...but yesterday​ I​ went again and had Briana, she was terrific! I brought my own shampoo and conditioner. I was concerned my hair was oily the last time, so while she was finished washing my hair before the conditioner, I asked her to rinse it again. She graciously did with a smile. She was timely and efficient and did a great blow out. I was concerned that on a Wednesday afternoon, she was the only one in the salon, (i felt that just wasn't​ safe for her or me)..but that is just an aside. Ask for Briana if you make an appointment.
