No one told me I had to cancel 7 days in advance, so when I inquired about canceling right around renewal time, I was basically accused of "taking advantage" of their policy. Rude. And unnecessary. Just explain you have a 7 day advance policy. I don't need to be chastised. Be professional. For the record, I wasn't asking for anything free. I'd have gladly paid for individual classes until I was unable to use my membership anymore due to a move. The stars are for the teachers. I can't recommend a place where the spirit is to treat your former members like garbage because they cancel. Ps. I also got harassed for payment during Hurricane Helene. My debit card expired in the month of September and I had to go up to Asheville where I had relatives with power due to having twin babies to care for. I was unable to update my card or transfer funds because we had no internet. Instead I was fielding calls from Pace about "how can I help you pay." After I was unable to travel to Greenville for my 5th in-person 18-hour workshop, I was offered the 3-page AI-generated summaries, partially inaudible Zoom recordings, notes, and a link to a TED Talk in place of a refund - for a $325 payment. I also no longer have access to recordings of the sessions I actually attended in person due to the studio's lack of web storage. Prior to this, their 300-hour program that was originally advertised as 18 optional weekends completely changed after I had already paid $3,300. I was told this was in order to allow more students to sign up because they needed a way to pay their teachers. When I communicated my disappointment over multiple topic removals, I was offered, "maybe a dinner one Saturday evening your in town." Additionally, trainings advertised as running 8am-6pm have ended 1-2 hours early on multiple occasions, which doesn't meet Yoga Alliance's required contact hours. If you're considering a significant financial investment here, go in aware that there's no flexibility if plans change on your end, even though flexibility clearly exists when it benefits the studio.
