Blockprojects is on Stephenson Street - the numbers on Stephenson Street start at different point on the street and Blockprojects is close to the corner with Balmain Street in Cremorne. Cremorne is a micro suburb is just south of the Richmond railway station.
Like most contemporary art galleries in Melbourne Blockprojects is an attractively renovated garage or factory with a polished concrete floor, a high ceiling with track lighting and white walls. There is an office and presumably stockroom space out the back. I found the room sheets at the back of the room next to the office space. This is where I met Malcolm, the director of Blockprojects.
As I had already seen half the exhibition before I arrived at the back I was already enthusiastic about the artist showing. And so was Malcolm, he was disappointment at not having any of the artist's sculptures for this show and his enjoyment of the artist's work was infectious.
