During the art fest, there are several chalk artists put their work in front of the walkway of Dilard's. They will be completed at the second day of the art fest. If you like to try your artistic skills, there is a section on the driveway allow to put your amateur skill to work at kid corner. The booths of the artists were occupied along the street. It is not too crowded. I like the display of each artist. If you get tired of the the art, you always can jump into shopping next or enjoy the restaurant in the mall. Very convenient. There is also a music band playing live music. We are very fortunately this two days do not rain.

It wouldn't be difficult for anyone to find that unique piece of art to decorate the house or yourself.

One of the vendors sells the old lid metal signs that were discarded and fixed it up as an art for decoration. The street is flood of people that are curious or music listener. There also some food vendors that you can get food on the street instead of restaurant. I like city or the chamber of commerce bring business for the local restaurants with event. It also provides people to enjoy the evening. I like one musical band "voice of Jazz". They have multi level talent in the group. The musical night also has saxophone and harmonica musician.

Performers, musicians and comedians gather at the bottom of the Pier. It is a creative way to attract a crowd. There are bathrooms and a few restaurants across from the Pier. You can find lots of shopping and dining within just a few blocks. We were careful to have our pockets zipped and we took cross body bags. It is easy to get distracted with a large group of people. The top of the pier allows fishing. It costs a dollar to enter the gated area. It is super windy at the end of the pier. Watch your ball caps!

Loquat is small town festival that brings the charm to the city. There is group of the town people…read moreare striving for the good of the town and created this festival to bring people from other city to visit. It will help up the economics of the city. The loquat is actually a fruit from China or Japan. The Chinese call it Pee Par. They not require too much of care due to the rich soil near central west Florida. It need occasion watering to produce the fruit of the tree. There are several scientific researches looking for the cure of disease or cancel. The fruit is sweet on the tree it turn to golden. If it is green and you plug it from the tree it won't turn sweet like papaya. The local have several recipes for Jam, Pie, and Pastry. Today we have tried the limited edition pastry. Luckily we are early and we have the chance to buy one from the vender for $2.50. The people behind us do not have the chance like the early bird like me and Nick. There are improvement can be made to bridge more crowd and attention. Such as contact some food truck, artist tent, pie competition that makes the venue more fun. They need to make more amount of the pastry so many people can experience it.

This year is no different but a lot of people came out to enjoy this even at RE olds Park. The event is free to every one. It includes the movie at the lawn. My favorite is the snow slide. I saw a bunch of kid or parents with small children on the lap slide down on the man made ice slope. It is without friction and it travel a long distance without stop. Unless you hit a tree. Just kidding. They also have snow ball throwing, pony ride, art and craft and more. The Clearwater aquarium has a station showing how they transported the dolphins. You can take a picture with Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause. The festival has food stand, bounce house for all ages.

Or perhaps, when you compare it to the other amazing art shows in the Tampa Bay area, like Gasparilla Festival of the Arts and Mainsail Art Festival, that's why it falls short. Taking place in Hyde Park Village, all the booths are crammed one right next to the other, with a few located down odd little roads and entrances. This year's offerings seemed to be mostly paintings and framed photographs. And of course, lots of jewelry. There was also pottery, glass knickknacks, and leather aplenty. There were a few unique stalls I liked; one lady was selling handmade table runners made of gorgeous fabrics combined with leather and river rocks. Another had life-sized metal statues-if you have ever driven by Whatever Pops on Florida, you have seen their yellow one. Other than that, same old same old. If I'm in the area I might go next year, but I'll probably wait another week and head to St. Petersburg for Mainsail.

The park was filled with all kinds of vendors, a huge stage for entertainment, seats under shaded tents, food trucks and a great number of Asian food vendors. It was a great day here especially since the weather not too hot and not too cool. It was a nice time spent here. An hour was enough since I had the meter parking. Tons of people stood in line for food. I don't stand in line at these kind of fests, but the food looked and smelled so good. Glad we went this year! Turn out was…read moreextremely sparse, perhaps because of the heat and/or because it was Mother's Day Weekend, or both. Hoping next year's fest is held in February or March when temps are much more pleasant. Also, the countries of Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia were not represented. I was very disappointed. But, I stayed as long as I could, in spite of this fact. This fest was largely China, India, Hawaii, Phillipines and Vietnam. China put on wonderful performances with wonderful costumes and dancers. Hawaii had a small representation and the those present were treated to a hula lesson as well as lessons in Hawaiian culture, music, and dance. India's drummers were mesmerizing and a joy to watch. As I attended the Phillo Fest recently, i exited when the Phillipino participants took to the stage. All the performers, musicians and organizers deserve FIVE STARS! But, PLEASE have the next festival during a COOLER month.
