Like most people, we normally ask a friend or family member to watch our cat when we're out of town. But given we were going overseas during Independence Day when many others were out of town, we reached out to Bloomfield Pet Care. Cats are pretty easy to care for in the grand scheme of pets, but we really loved the job Crystal did. Finding Meghan and her team through Yelp was the best find! When I first moved back to the area, I had a dog walker that did not meet my expectations. I figured this was the consequence of leaving "the big city" life and had to deal with it. I was wrong! Meghan and her team have great modern conveniences like texting with your dog walker, e-mailing/texting appointment changes, and best of all online payments. While those services are convenient, obviously the best part is the care. I've had a few different walkers in the few months of daily service with the company and they have all been wonderful. I feel like they really care about my dog and are interested in getting to know us both and our habits. An example of great service was one day my puppy got "sick" in his crate. The walker helped clean up, called me to let me know, and offered to stay with him until I was able to drive home from work. When you're only paying a few bucks per day to have someone walk you dog for 20 minutes and they are that caring and concerned, you know you've found something great! read more

I took my dog here when I couldn't get in with my regular groomer. When I picked her up I wanted to cry she look like a rat. The haircut was the worst haircut I've ever had by anyone! I had to go to my regular groomer to fix it, she did the best she could. She told me it will take time to grow out. read more

This service, and in particular, Meghan, has allowed our family to take vacations. With more than a couple of cats and a senior, almost totally blind, diabetic dog, it is hard to find someone to come to the house timely to administer the shots. I cannot say enough good things about Bloomfield Pet Care and the services they provide. I used them this past weekend for the first time while out of town for 4 days and everything went great for my two dogs and my peace of mind! I requested the care takers come three times a day to feed/play/let out my dogs. Each visit was documented with an email message summarizing the visit and picture of my dogs (having a blast). I would look forward to these messages throughout the day and was happy to see my dogs having a good time at home. I came home to two very happy and well cared for dogs, which made my vacation even more enjoyable. We've been using Bloomfield Pet Care for over two years and we would highly recommend them. We travel frequently to our Florida residence and we have never had a problem. This company has been a true lifesaver for us since moving to the area! My husband and I have small dogs and cats. Before, when we had to leave town, we'd have a friend stop by to feed the cats, while the dogs stayed with family, but since moving to a new state, we had no one to count on regularly and wanted our pets to remain comfy in their home while we were gone. Bloomfield has met all of our needs and more - they've always been available when needed, the multiple staff members we've used have all been kind and trustworthy and the pricing is very fair (especially for a service where the sitter sleeps over with your pets). A few of my pets require meds and various special foods etc and it's never been a problem. They are also great about keeping us updated with texts and adorable pictures. The system is very tech friendly too - allowing you to easily submit a request and pay online, which I like. I seriously do not know what I would have done without them! read more

I am very very particular (some would say obsessive) about how my 14-yo cat with renal failure gets treated when I have to be out of town. I have had mostly good sitters, but a criminally awful experience with a sitter back in Colorado, where we're from, has made me wary. I had one sitter here in Michigan who was ok, but my cat wouldn't go near her. He's usually a lover - I still get calls from prior sitters checking on him because they bonded with him so much. He's never hated anyone before and she made no attempt to engage him, let alone cuddle him or play with him, so I went looking for another. Based on the other yelp reviews, I chose Bloomfield. I am very thankful I did. When Ashley came over for the meet and greet, my cat took to her right away. She has a gentle spirit that overcame his usual initial shyness. Meghan also took care of him some days and he enjoyed her company too. Most of all, when I had any questions, they were quick to answer me, which gave me great peace of mind. And when I got home, it was clear he had been well cared for and all my instructions had been followed exactly.
