You can rent a canoe or kayak then paddle over the ship wrecks!! how amazing is that? We loved the fact that this hotel/resort was located near the light house and that it was kind of quiet and private from the rest of Tobermory. We enjoyed watching boats coming and going and the sunset. Only down fall, small bathroom. If you are super tall.. just duck :) But its all good.

Food was easily accessible from this location as well. Basically everything was walking distance. Facilities were brand new and clean. The bathroom was spacious. There is a Fridge, a coffee maker and a microwave!!! Bed was the perfect firmness. The pillows were incredible. The comforter was perfectly insulated. It was 40s outside and we never needed to turn on the heater. The entire place was well insulated. The TV had google, Netflix, and Hulu. But we couldn't enjoy bc of the shoddy WiFi. ....I think that's all of Canada tho this wasn't the first place where we had a hard time with WiFi. Also a nice balcony when weather permitted. Had two chairs to sit and watch the Bruce peninsula in the distance. Ample parking. I did not want to leave this place. So comforting coming back from a long hike to a place like this.

At check-in, I wanted to ask for restaurant recommendations and things to do in the area. However, the employee checking us in seemed to be in a hurry and told us to check out Trip Advisor for restaurants. We were informed of the patios and BBQs available for all guests to use. The other employee that we encountered was much friendlier. The office is open 24/7 and has Keurig, hot water, mugs, a microwave, an ice maker, and buckets for ice. Our room was on the second level and had a lovely view of the water. It was a spacious room with a connecting door in the wardrobe area. The downside to having a connecting door when we don't need it is that soundproofing isn't as good. We could hear conversations in the next room, especially when a baby started crying at 4 a.m. The bed was comfortable; the larger of the two windows had blackout curtains wrapped around the sides; a mini fridge and power bar with USB outlets in the wardrobe area; power outlets located around the room; and a few cushy chairs placed around the room. What I noticed later was that the room did not have a clock or a telephone. I suppose everyone has a cellphone, so those are not necessary. In terms of bathroom amenities, there is a soap dispenser on the sink, and body wash and shampoo are in dispensers on the shower wall. Restaurants, ferry docks, Bruce Peninsula National Park, and Fathom Five National Marine Park Visitor Centre are about a 10-minute walk away.

Very clean and nicely decorated. The blanket even have boat patterns. You get a/c, shower, sink outside the toilet, and if you need a fridge, there's a shared one in the check in room. Note: none of the rooms have the water views; the rows are facing the road. You get a bit of water view sitting on the patio.

Very helpful and gave me a map and went through a few places to go to because it was my first time visiting. We got the cottage bunkie - cabin 8 which is a double bed. It is just enough room to walk around the bed to the bathroom. This is the basics, bed bar fridge a 12 inch tv and bathroom. They give you a bbq outside along with toilet paper soap and hand soap. There is also a fan which helps with circulation within the room. The sheets looked clean but we brought our own bedding. This is a self cleaning cottage so they expect you to leave it as you find it! I thought it was fine for sleeping, the bed was comfortable. No intentions to hang out in the room so the bare minimum did not bother us. The internet is slow but worked ok for surfing web. Not sure about speed for streaming vids tho - I would assume very slow. The location is very close to the main strip. The guy who checked us in said if we wanted any boat tours book right away! After unpacking we went across the street to buy our tickets to flowerpot island. Luckily we followed the concierges prompt to buy tickets early because the Saturday tickets were almost sold out and it was 3pm Friday! Next door there is a kayak rental shop! On the main strip there is an over priced grocery store (way to monopolize) At nights there are Mosquitos because the cabins are surrounded by trees. Don't go unarmed!! There is a no noise rule after 10am and check out is 10:30am. I would also recommend to the owners a vending machine for the site too! Again, much better than anticipated. Since I did not stay in the room other than sleeping, this place was perfect. I can see how some can get annoyed by noise as you can hear people talking even in the outside cabins but again. It is what you make of it! Would I stay here again though? Unsure

This is such an amazing tour that combines all of the Bruce's beauty in one trip. The mesmerizing history, lighthouse, rock formations, turquoise waters, all of which make the tour worth it from beginning to end. Your tour starts at the Big Tub Harbour. You will sail pass the Big Tub Lighthouse, Canadian Coast Guard, and stop by the famous "Sweepstakes" Shipwreck. They maneuver the boat around the sunken ship so you can see the wreck from every angle. There is plenty of time to take photos. I wouldn't recommend crowding at the "see through" glass bottoms, as you can see it even more clearly on the 2nd floor. As you leave the harbour, they accelerate towards Flowerpot Island. They sail around the island for a full circle so you can observe the flowerpots, the lighthouse, and the breathtaking turquoise waters before dropping you off. Here is where I recommend the early bird tickets. Since there is no one at the island yet, you get to take photos that are undisturbed by the inevitable crowds later in the day. Not to mention you get 25% discount from the early bird. Throughout the trip, Bruce Anchor's staffs were friendly and helpful. Plenty of instructions (via text/email) were given for the parking and meeting place. The tour guide was engaging and knowledgeable as he provided commentary throughout. I was highly impressed by their employees. My experience reflects the Bruce Anchor's "cruises", not the "motel".

Prices are different during peak and off season and for adults (18-64), seniors (65+), and youth (4-17). Kids (0-3) are free but require a ticket. There's the option to purchase a national park pass on the same webpage. We received frequent updates via text message in regards to our booking. If tickets were purchased online, they can be picked up the night prior to departure or the morning of departure. There was a hiccup in our original departure time. High winds had our departure cancelled. We were given the option to reschedule to a later sailing on the same day or another date, or cancel and receive a full refund. We chose a later sailing the same day and went to pickup our tickets at 10 Haybay Road and then park our car at 22 Legion Street, where a shuttle would take us to their alternate dock. The cruise started by going further into the bay to see two shipwrecks. The shipwrecks were visible by looking overboard or at the glass-bottom panels on the lower deck. Staff provided us with a lot of information about the shipwrecks and the surrounding area on the way to Flowerpot Island. Just a note that sitting on the upper deck, where it's open, can get chilly.

I chose Innisfree for our first trip to Tobermory years ago, and I won't be changing that choice…read moreanytime soon. You get the best of most worlds here. The 5-room bed and breakfast is located on the main strip in town. Most other places are motels and hotels that have nothing on offering a cozy place like home away from home, but where you're not making your bed and cooking your breakfast. Speaking of that breakfast, you get a full selection of fruits, cereals, yogurt, granola, toast, baked goods from bagels to muffins to croissants, and heartier items like hard cooked eggs, cheese, ham/cold cut meats, and with the new ownership for the last 2 years, bacon, sausages, and heated items like spanakopita style puff pastry with feta and spinach, fried potatoes, and even spring rolls. Best of all, you eat it in a beautiful 3 table dining area with the most fabulous view of the bay and boats in a front room glassed in like a sun room. If you choose one of the 2 front rooms that have direct access to the shared balcony, you wake up to a second story view of the bay with a slide of your door to sit on the balcony and watch the sun rise over Little Tub harbour. You will have to share the bathroom with the other of those 2 rooms, but it's a fair enough trade-off to get dibs on that balcony every morning. If you choose one of the other 2 rooms at the back of the house, you get your own ensuite bathroom. If you do have to use the shared bathroom, the silver lining is the skylight in that one. If you have to settle for it, there's a fifth bedroom on the main floor, which also has its own bathroom, but is off the kitchen. This settling for is of course relative to the other 4 rooms as those have their special perks. Guests have use of a large and comfy living room, which does have a television, although I've seen it used only once in all the years we've stayed. There's a selection of books to read and board/table games to play. There's a small guest fridge to store a few drinks. There are guest slippers to use on your way in, and a cold water dispenser to fill up your bottles on your way out. When you're done for the day, you can brew a tea bag or instant coffee, and use the mugs and glasses provided. Stay includes your usual bath linens, robes, and Wi-Fi. Not so usual on top of that, Peter your friendly host will meet you and greet you, and give you the skinny on the season's goods. Thank you Peter for another wonderful stay. We'll be back again.

The room was small, clean and cozy and I found the bed incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately we were experiencing a cold snap and no one had turned the heat on before we got there, so we froze in the room for a couple of hours. The TV was a 15" CRT placed on a corner near the ceiling, which wouldn't have been a problem, except that the weather was uncooperative so we actually did watch some TV on our vacation. Outside the patio door seemed to be a really nice patio area with a picnic table, muskoka chairs and a lawn where you can look out on the harbour, which would probably be great in the summer. I think I might investigate other options if we ever return to Tobermory.

Supermarket was just 100 meters away. Everything was very close and Harbourside Motel was conveniently located by the dock so it was easy getting to the cruise for Flower Pot Island. It was extremely easy to book for the motel online. I liked how they had a photo for every room so you knew exactly what to expect and made the selection much easier. I would definitely come back here again in the future just for the convenience. We also had a designated parking spot (right outside the front door). The only bad thing is people staying close to us were loud in the morning. Our windows were closed but we could still hear them chatting loudly outside before 8am.
