If there were no stars, that would be my rating. I have never worked with any business that is as terrible as Blue Box Moving. They sent two guys with a Budget rental truck and they immediately broke a leg on a small desk. They loaded the truck so poorly with no wrapping or cushioning at all, that all my new wood furniture was damaged and the back corners of the sofa were ripped off. I repeatedly asked them to wrap the furniture, the lead driver Kahil refused and was unbelievably rude. The other guy was on his first day and was much more careful and polite. The move was very small with one bedroom, a desk and file cabinet, a small family room, a dining room table with chairs, a kitchen table with chairs, 10 boxes and some patio furniture. Nothing was loaded like professional movers, just throwing it into the truck in one layer, stacking wood stuff right against the trailer walls. Aa a result it took them two trips with damages to many pieces of furniture. Kahil told me and his boss that we had a 4 bedroom house which is why it took so long. Really? It was a small house in Sun City with an empty living room and empty bedroom and it was almost $600 for this move. The owner Tom Outman said that I lied about everything, that it was just flaking varnish and that the furniture was already damaged. It was new furniture never moved before. He promised a refund of $120, which was never done. He has blocked his number so I cannot reach him and he removes bad reviews from social media as soon aa they are posted. This is a very unreliable business that provides untrained and rude staff. Do NOT believe any of the positive reviews and do yourself a favor. Use another company and do not ever use Blue Box Moving of Surprise, AZ. read more

This is the worst moving company ever. I have used a lot of movers. They broke my deceased father antique Jukebox. And my barstool.The owner lied about straps got lose. When his guys said the broke. They wouldn't help to fix it. He said he comped the move. Which is not true. I had to put $150.00 down for deposit. He lied about the amount. Never got it back and key to my Jukebox. They were an 1 hour late and got lost. I had to find them. The owner is not returning my emails either. read more

Your company moved my girlfriends 11 items and I wanted to congratulate you on an amazing job, she had 11 items and your movers broke four, broke the leg off the credenza, broke the leg off the desk, broke the base of the stool, and dropped the antique jukebox. We fixed the credenza and the desk... the stool can't be repaired and the jukebox well I'm sure it will be fixed.. I guess your "movers" don't understand how to pack a truck so items don't move in transit, and the dolly strap is a very easy item to navigate if you actually use it.. A credenza should never be set down at an angle with all the weight on the legs.. Again congrats on a job well done I will be sure to recommend you to absolutely no body! And again I appreciate you leaving us to fix the items we could because that's what should happen! read more

Blue Box provided a great moving experience! They worked with our Schedule and provided on time service. Courteous movers that worked hard, and efficient. I have not had the best experience with movers in the past. The amount I was quoted was always exceeded by the "final amount due". I was so angry with the movers taking breaks, and spending more time shooting the breeze than actually moving my furniture and boxes. It also seemed as if only one of the movers actually knew what to do. I was so thrilled with Blue Box Moving! They showed up on time, had professional uniforms and they were so efficient with moving my belongings! They were on task! The guys worked nonstop and we're professional. They took care of my items and I didn't see them take a single break. Nothing was missing after unpacking, and honesty is the best thing to look for in a mover. Everything was packed well and the only complaint I had was some boxes were labeled to keep upright but were stacked on the side (no damage though). This is a small thing overall and I was incredibly impressed with their services and work ethic. They didn't charge to drive to my house or to leave my new home to their office, like some other mover quoted me. They simply charged labor in 15 minute increments and the travel from the old home to my new one. The initial quote was accurate and no surprises came up for the full 6 hour move. I was kept informed for the entire process and would absolutely recommend and use them again. read more

Here is my experience which is far different from others, would not recommend * The crew was slow in my opinion * Broke the plug on my fridge, took 2 days for them to fix it * Scratched the front of my stainless steel fridge * Dented the side of the other door on the same fridge * Dollied a $4000 Henredon Armoire from the front with no pad which rubbed the finish off the front on the bottom where the dolly rubbed * Chipped stucco off the front door threshold * Gouged both the front and garage door jams in several spots on my newly built house, not scratched but deep gouges * Water drained from the washer as they dollied it out of the old house and they did not clean it up, of course the tracked through it leaving a muddy mess * Scuffed the front of both of my leather sofas * The forgot the bedframes and the dryer hose at the old house on the first trip so they all returned to the old house rather than being efficient and having someone stay at the new house to do set-up * They left the tools at the new house when they returned for the second trip to the old house, they needed these to remove the above mentioned fridge doors to get it out of the old house, instead of coming back and getting the tools they tried to manhandle the fridge out hence the damage * They hooked up the washing machine but did not turn on the water we did a load and almost burnt up the motor * They sent a 5th person for the last half of the move to speed things up, I only contracted for four, then they tried to charge more by the hour for the 5th guy they sent without me asking or approving, talk about breach of contract, you will see the owner likes to use that as a weapon later * They left the side gate to the house wide open and one of my dogs got out and took off down the busy street forcing my daughter to run into traffic to get her dog * When collecting at the end of the move they said there is a 3% charge to pay by card, I was never informed of this, they called the owner he waived it but later used that to say I breached the contract by not paying in full so he did not have to fix any of the damage, it was over $1200 as if people keep that sort of cash around, he should just bake the 3% in and give a cash discount, feels unethical to me The owner was supposed to come out and inspect the damage 9 days later, yeah I know great sense of urgency, instead he sends the below email on the Friday afternoon before the Saturday he was to come out, no call, no visit AN EMAIL. Here is the email from the owner - "Mr. Haughn, in response to the scratch on the fridge and the front door trim. All moves will result in a few minor cosmetic scratches/scuffs/dings; that is an inherent risk when moving a home to a home within 1 day. That is why all professional moving contracts including ours, includes a hold harmless disclosure regarding the fact that we are not responsible for cosmetic issues that happen in the course of a move. However, not being liable and being a caring human are two different things. We are not able to repair the fridge or trim however I would like to offer $75 refunded to you. I hope you feel this is an amicable resolution to your move with us. In all sincerity, you did void our moving agreement when you decided not to pay the full bill, but I looked passed that and immediately had the cord fixed. With the addition of a $75 refund I feel this to be a fair resolution. " $75 on a $1200 move with all of that damage because he is a caring human, what a guy. The hold harmless clause does not give you impunity to damage anything and not be held liable, his team did not take appropriate measures to assure damage was not done, for example padding the entry doors, going and getting the tools they left at the new house to take the refrigerator doors off and not try to "muscle" it through a space that it would not fit, not placing a pad on the dolly when moving an armoire, I could go on and on, this is carelessness, neglect and a lack of experience and professionalism in my opinion. This is not "inherent" in a move covered under "hold harmless". I replied to his email that same day August 24, 2018 at 6:01:45 and have not heard a word from him since. read more

Don't book or risk having no moving company. Booked Blue Box about a month in advance of our move. Paid the deposit at time of booking. Planned move was 8/2. Call on 7/29 to confirm everything. Got vague answers earlier in the day. After 5:00 we received a call from Thomas, informing us he "Double Booked" and could not move us on Friday. Sounds fishy how this could happen. What did he think our deposit was for, a charity donation? Sounds more like he got a better deal or a friend needed a move. Regardless, Blue Box was not going to move on Friday. He did offer to move us Sunday, with no inconvenience discount. We had everything already planned and coordinated to make this 15 mile move and could not change our plans. Thank God for small favors. He had us booked for 2 movers, one truck that would go back and forth. Fortunately, Move Team Six was free on Friday and handled our move. 5 guys, 2 trucks and took all of 8 hours. And these guys were studs. They didn't stop moving or take a break. Not sure how Blue Box would have pulled it off (Yes, we gave Blue Box the exact size of the load - same info we gave Move Team Six). If you want a reliable, dedicated and professional moving company, call Move Team Six. BTW - a zero star rating should be an option. I would have used it. read more

Worst pack and load service ever experienced. Previous residential move was OK, but was not done by the owner. The owner and two inexperienced helpers did my business move and it was far beyond their capability. A great deal of damage was done to machines, tools, finished Precision parts and furniture due to incompetent packing. In most cases, No padding or protection of any kind was used. Level of experience of the two helpers was grossly overstated. Over 30 boxes are labeled "misc" by the "expert packer" and everything was literally just thrown into boxes in a pile with zero protection. The owner accepts no responsibility for the extensive damage and considers it to be 'normal' and as with other reviewers, hides behind his 'contract' which holds him 'harmless' from his incompetent work. read more

This was the first time we hired a moving company to help us move and it was 100% worth it the money. If we would have had to rent the truck, rent the blankets, and buy the furniture wrapping it would have possibly cost us about if not the same as it did to have Blue Box Moving Company move us. And then the hard part would have been trying to convince family and friends to come help move when it's 105+ degrees outside on a Tuesday. Yeah, not happening. Blue Box Moving Company's went above and beyond all our expectations. The communication was great, the free boxes we received with our deposit were very helpful. We moved from California to Arizona and due to some renovations in the new house, our items had to be placed in the garage until finished. I hired Blue Box move the items into the home. Tom was wonderful and accommodating even at the 11th hour to fill our immediate need and to get ourselves physically out of a 3 week hotel stay. The process was easy and he answered any and all questions that I had. The guys showed up - and early - the next day and handled everything with great care. They (David & Ronald) were so polite, professional and very careful with our items. Having to re-assemble quite a few things that had been disassembled for the move - not easy but they did it.
