David Burton produced a superb design. Jeremiah and Sam busted their butts, through two very hot and humid weeks. They were always polite, never in the way, and highly meticulous. In my opinion, they are also highly skilled, operating excavators and other machinery expertly in tight and difficult terrain. Every time (and there were several) that I worried about a placement or a height or grade or whatever, Jeremiah stopped what he was doing, listened patiently, and then took whatever measure to allay my fears. He was kind, considerate, and responsive, as was Sam. It's fair to say that Distefano Landscaping overall did a superb job for us in every imaginable way. And the job came out right around the quoted price, even though there were some bumps (like buried stumps) along the road.

But Kingfisher Landscaping saved the day for us and was able to do the job. But that's not where Todd stopped providing his professional services. In the course of planting the trees, he discovered a concrete slab that was buried under the ground that I knew nothing about. Todd took the extra giant step of actually going out and getting a Jack hammer, breaking through that concrete slab, removing the concrete and then finish planting the trees. I don't know if another landscaper would have gone to that extra effort for a client! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

When I pointed out how disruptive the lack of communication was, I was met with a snide remark telling me to "give them a call" when I couldn't find anyone else -- and that they'd charge me an extra $100 for a rush job. Completely unprofessional. If you want reliability, respect, and basic customer courtesy, look elsewhere. Wolfe Landscaping made it very clear how they treat their clients.

I reached back out to Joe for another tree removal in early August of 2025. I had a retaining wall…read moreI was going to be having removed and sloped but in order to do so, I had to remove trees which sat in the middle of it on the top. Joe was very prompt in responding to my inquiry and got me on his schedule as quickly as he could. We agreed to process the request the third or fourth week of August. He gave me an excellent quote! As always, Joe did well to come out and examine the trees himself and described his plan on how he wanted to fell the trees. He ended up having some other things come up but still managed to keep us in the same time frame as agreed upon. He felled a cluster of about 5-6 trees grouped together. These tree were close to the road and had one direction they could fall in a space between my house and my pool deck. He felled this group of trees in less than three hours (far quicker than I expected) and he did so on a windy day! We agreed to do the clean up and removal of the trees ourselves, but he still helped cut up some of the trunks before he left. Joe also re-checked some trees he had previous concerns about and explained the signs I should watch for so they don't become a further issue. I will always call Joe first for any of my tree needs. He is professional, responsive, willing to educate you, and reliable. I highly recommend him for anyone else with tree needs that are within the area he covers here in Vermont. Joe's first and foremost concern is always safety for the people and structures that dwell on job sites.
