The cows are free to roam the 345-acre property, and Pastures of Rose Creek raises them with no antibiotics, no hormones, and no harmful chemicals. But the proof is in the taste--once you try grass-fed, you simply won't go back! Their steaks are cut to order and make great gifts as well! When I was there, a family was buying a half cow to freeze for barbecues. That's how good it is :) Be sure to try their new Piedmontese beef as well--it has a unique "double muscling" which makes the beef have less cholesterol and fat than chicken while still having that unsurpassed tenderness and flavor. Definitely worth supporting a family farm and getting delicious farm-to-table freshness! They are also at the Watkinsville Farmers' Market on Saturdays, 8 am to 1 pm.

No credit cards please - they didn't mind at all waiting while I counted out quarters... Fantastic small stop by at a local corner inside an outdoor mall area, where locals pull up in rigs, trucks, 4x4 and tractors. My bro and I had lunch at their BBQ place, literally on the side attached to the farmers market called, you guessed it; "On The Side Barbeque". The beef brisket sandwich melted in your mouth, it comes with 2 sides of your choice. I ordered mine with collard greens and homemade potato salad. The meal also comes with a can of soda or water bottle and a small bag of chips. It's actually a great value and they have a nice covered open air outdoor area to eat at. They had a perfect pack of candles that I HAD to have, and I bought honeycomb for The Granddaughter -- she loves it. The young lady at the counter was so sweet and friendly. The atmosphere was light and happy. This is a great place to shop. If you haven't been here, you MUST go. I could almost say, If they don't have it, you don't need it.
