I was told by the secretary I would need to stop taking certain medications a week prior to my appointment for full allergy testing and they would send me a list of the medications I would need to stop to my home address. The list never arrived. After four calls to the office and no return calls, I stopped all of my meds abruptly out of fear they may interfere with my testing. When I got there the physician listened to my lungs, patted me on my shoulder, said everything is going to be okay, and sent me on my way. No blood tests, no poke tests, no information, no recipes, no nothing. For reference, I have newly diagnosed alpha gal syndrome, a tick borne illness that makes me allergic to beef, pork, lamb, dairy, butter, carrageenan, gelatin (including medication gel tabs), and natural flavors. It is bad enough it send me into anaphylaxis and I now have to carry around an epi pen that the people at urgent care prescribed. I also have had abrupt cardiac symptoms with the new diagnosis...hypertension and tachycardia for which I now need to take cardiac medications on a daily basis. Keep in mind my heart rate and blood pressure were fine up until this diagnosis and I am a heathy woman in her 30's with no medical history. My sustained tachycardia put me in the emergency room and I was almost admitted to the hospital because it would not go below 110 beats per minute at rest. Dr. Dillon told me it was just stress. She then said to continue avoiding the foods I was avoiding and she would see me in nine months. Her nurse literally told me to Google my diagnosis for more information, even though there is not a lot of information out there on it. They literally did nothing. I should have wasted my money on a massage. At least I wouldn't have waited three months for absolutely nothing and felt better about it afterwards. Their online paperwork is also a debacle. It takes forever to complete and it is filled with ads and research pitches. This sounds like a small office was taken over by a large money making business venture where the patient is not at the center of the practice's efforts. I am going to save the money and ask my primary care physician to retest me periodically. There was literally no reason why the urgent care should have referred me to this place. Save your money and your time.

Another appointment was scheduled to remove this problem. I decided to alert the office staff that I would like to be considered for an open appointment from a cancellation they might receive. I was contacted just a few days after I notified the office of my desire & was able to have an 11 am appointment. Dr Teran & his tech Kiran are bother professional and kind. It took moments to prepare, to numb the spot & then for the cancer to be removed and a few stitches set. I felt no discomfort whatsoever! I am thrilled that the skin cancer this office detected has been removed. My aftercare is very straightforward as I have dissolvable stitches. I enjoyed my brief visit with Dr. Teran and would highly recommend his services. The entire staff at Family Dermatology of Albemarle is friendly and helpful. My thanks to the entire team!

Just left me sitting there waiting and when I asked how much longer they said ," you are the next one" so I waited. Then the Dr said to me that that is what is to be expected with late afternoon appts. That they will be late. So if they know this why don't they give more appt time to morning appts. So basically she said it was my fault for having a job and only being able to get there in the afternoon and I should always expect my appts to be at least 30 minutes late. What a slap in the face. No apology for being late or anything. I will not be going back and if you go just expect for them to not be respectful of you or your time.

They also have a imagining center inside, pharmacy, urologist, dermatologist, obgyn, orthopedic etc!!! This place is so easy to get to and offers plenty of parking! I will say the dermatologist I saw on 10/24/2018 for a spot on my face that was concerning had no bed side manner what so ever. After telling me it's just a scar with scar tissue but really not offering any reasoning for it he proceeded to leave the room and without any eye contact asked me while walking out if there were any "moles on my back I would liked checked also"....I felt like I was just a waste of time in his day.
