I don't even know where to start. We decided to stop in since we were in the area and in the mood for seafood. BEST DECISION EVER! The service was top notch from the moment we walked in the door until we stepped outside. They were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and even double checked to be sure what I ordered was gluten free. I ordered the Twisted Salmon Oscar (from the menu; Baked Atlantic salmon smothered in asparagus, lump crab meat, and dill-lime hollandaise sauce). It was sooooo good. I don't usually eat much but I ate way too much today! Larry enjoyed the Fresh seafood Combination with blackened flounder (from the menu; Fresh catch, sea scallops, and lump crab cake: broiled, fried, or blackened). He also ordered the Fried Eastern Shore Oysters (from the menu: Perfectly breaded, flash fried crispy, and served with our barrier island sauce) as an appetizer and said both were delicious. all of the food came out so quick and were perfectly cooked. While we waited we enjoyed drinks from the bar and they even brought out a small bit of poke, even making sure it was gluten free for me! And lets not forget desert. I enjoyed the creme brulee and Larry enjoyed the key lime pie. We probably shouldn't have had desert but how could we say no! The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. Perfect for a date night. We will most definitely be back!

I remember no reservations accepted for this place and I double checked to make sure two people with physical disabilities could be accommodated. The staff and even some fellow customers were very accommodating to my friends to help them get seated. Other customers were excited to let my friends know that it is worth the trip. The trip was two+ hours one way. My fried oysters, cheese chive potatoes, asparagus, and crab cake were superb. The cheese samplers were on point. My one friend could not have the nuts and my other friend had some different food allergy that I don't remember- so I had to eat all three samplers because fingers crossed I have no food allergies and I like to minimize food waste as part of being more sustainable and my own culture. I seem to have missed a picture of the Jellyfish Sting drink I had. It was flavorful enough and I liked the rose syrup in particular. The blueberry lemonade cocktail was sweet like I like my drinks. The key lime has a cashew crust that sounds like it compliments the key line well and I had it the last time and loved it. I am not sure if they always use cashew crust. My guess would be yes. Unfortunately one of my friends is allergic to nuts and he could not have it. I believe all the food is made from scratch and it certainly tastes that way. I think the quality prepared seafood and the making from scratch contribute to the limited opening hours of this restaurant. If you are in the area, a must visit if you like seafood. 5/25/26: I forgot to add that I was impressed that they added a mocktail menu and vegan chicken as an option. I think that they should have a vegan seafood option as well being a top notch seafood place in keeping up w the present times for what people would like for options within reason.

Consistently amazing and delicious. "Off the beaten path" from the oceanfront and town center. A hidden gem in a shopping center in Red Mill and worth the drive. The service is exceptional. The owner, Charles is very present and goes around to everyone and speaks to them. Most are regulars and he remembers their favorites on the menu. Very personable. Pauline the bartender is also fantastic. He truly has a fantastic team but he obviously leads by example and that is felt throughout your experience. Now onto the food.....delicious. A small but mighty menu. It was a tough decision but I went with my favorite.....the Scallops and it did not disappoint. My husband went with the salmon. Genuinely a wonderful meal. Tip.....get there at 3:45 for HH or make a reservation. And that homemade apricot butter.....you could put that on a bottom of a shoe and make it taste delicious.

I was craving Crème Brûlée today & this restaurant popped up when I searched Crème Brûlée in Yelp! This amazing restaurant is nestled in Raving Health & Liddy's. It's always amazing to see a Yelp Burst & Award in the store front window! I was immediately greeted by a host who politely guides me to the bar. Very quickly after sitting at the bar, Bridget gave me menus & an ice water. She crafted a beautiful lavender take of their Hibiscus Martini minus the peach liqueur & add lavender syrup. It was beautiful and tasted amazing! She was very sweet & helpful throughout my entire time here. I was greeted with complimentary Shrimp & Crab Fritter & Sweet Potato Biscuits with apricot butter. Both were simply amazing. I could eat the sweet potato biscuits with apricot butter. So heavenly. For an entree, I ordered the Shrimp & Grits and it was so creamy, tasty, & filling! Lastly, what I really came here for -- the Crème Brûlée!! I was a tiny bit sad because it didn't have a crunchy top. I think it needed just a bit more caramelizing as the top was soft. Despite missing that crunchy top, it was still tasty. Bridget was so kind & noticed that it wasn't crunchy & she sent it back to be caramelized! Charles circled around multiple times to check on everyone & make light conversations Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants an elevated dinner with coastal vibes! It's very clear that the personal touches matter & there's a reason for their 5 star rating!

Another amazing experience. The blueberry lemon drop martini is to die for and sneaks up on you. The service is amazing. We had someone from the kitchen staff come to the table to make sure everything came out okay. It's a little on the pricey side but totally worth it. Def recommend.

*THEY DO NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS* BUT...It's worth the wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very small quaint restaurant- upscale mom & pop feel. Emphasis on small![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was amazing and each dish left us wanting more. Don't forget to get your sweet potato biscuits! Menu items ordered (party of four): starter - spoon full of ceviche Mama Charles' Brussels The soup of the day: Cream of crab Two orders of the fresh seafood combination: One with salmon and broiled Another with flounder and blackened add side garden salad. Both came with vegetable medley. One order of the seafood belle haven substituted a side Caesar salad for an up charge served with mashed potatoes. Finally an order of the broiled lump crab cake and tempura fried asparagus (appetizer but order as an entree). My salmon was bland but the flavors of everything else balanced out the taste. The asparagus was very different but enjoyable. I enjoyed the soup. The ceviche was a surprise delivery to the table but the sweet potato biscuits were a wonderful addition to the overall meal. We washed down our dish with a glass of Prosecco which came with blueberries There was no room for dessert I would definitely return. The hours are limited but I will certainly plan around them for my next visit.

Had friends in town who wanted seafood, so suggested this restaurant based on reviews. There was about a 45min wait for a Saturday night, which wasn't too bad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is intimate and personal. Great for date night or catching up with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once we received notification our table was ready we were seated promptly. Our server was very friendly and attentive!! The chef even came by and spoke to our table.Got the brussel sprouts for appetizer. My friend and I got the blueberry lemon drop martini which was tasty. We also got the salmon special that had crab meat and a spinach sauce, which was very good. My husband got the seafood combination. All the seafood was fresh and seasoned well. Our friends really enjoyed the meal. They got the creme brûlée for dessert which was yummy. Definitely a great dinner spot. We will be returning!!!

Blue Seafood and Spirits is located in Sandbridge, VA away from the craziness of the City of VA Beach . Even-though it is a small venue in a strip plaza it should definitely not be overlooked. The secret is out and it is challenging to get into the restaurant. They don't take reservations. We planned ahead and arrived at 4:44 PM. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and fortunately there was a table available. Our server brought us water and took our drink orders. We selected the award winning She Crab Soup (in a light tomato base) a wonderful balanced flavor. Fried Eastern Shore Oysters were cooked perfectly, a little salty and succulent. While we were waiting for our apps, the chef/ owner welcomed us and presented us with a complimentary sample portion of Crab Pastry with a light dash of aioli. The three people at our table ordered three different entrees and all were enthusiastically pleased with our choices. Seafood Combination, Crab Cakes, and double cut lamb chop. We shared across our table and there was still some to take home. Crab cakes were delicately seasoned and had a plenty of crab meat. The Lamb Chop was cooked as ordered . Fantastic flavor! For dessert we shared Crème Brûlée and a scrumptious Key Lime Pie with a cashew crust. Everything about Blue is unique. You will never find anything " run of the mill" at Blue. A tremendous amount of thought and creativity has made Blue Seafood exceptionally successful. Chef Charles sat down briefly at our table just before desserts arrived. He genuinely thanked us for coming. Service is professional, friendly and top notch. Never rushed, they make you feel like their only customer. I highly recommend Blue Seafood and Spirits.

Comp shrimp cheese crustini

[[HIGHLIGHT]]When walking in you instantly feel its a local fave. The restaurant had modern nice decore and the quick service was nice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I couldn't wait to try. It was nice fir them to provided comp shrimp cheese crustini bites which was very tasty. The excitement has built up and so excited to tr a dish. I ordered thier "Safood Bell Haven" cause I'm all about seafood. It came withl side dish of steamed veggies and mashed potatoes Let's just just say this. The veggie and mash was fine, but way too much on the cheese on the main dish. To a point I felt I was eating more of a cheese dish rather than a seafood dish. I normally don't care how much I spend on a seafood dish, but my suggestion is to cut back a little on the cheese or just do a traditional seafood scampi style. I will come back, and try other dishes. But honestly it's not my first choice.

Today was my second visit, and I can confirm that the reviews and ratings are accurate. The service was exceptional and quick! The food was phenomenal, with options available for those who aren't seafood fans. The pork chop might be the best I've ever had. The drinks were also good! We will definitely be back. Not a huge place so you might have to wait. Although We had no issues and were seated quickly.

Seafood Combo (blackened scallops, flounder and crab cakes)
Gary G.

After living in VB for a few years, we finally got the opportunity to visit Blue Seafood. Soon after we sat down, the chef brought out some wonderful samples of a crab pâté on a cracker. For my main dish, I had a generous portion of fried halibut. It was the freshest, juiciest, tastiest halibut I've ever had in my life, hands-down. My two companions both had the seafood combo with blackened flounder, scallops and crabcakes. Both agreed that the crabcakes were exceptional. However, they were both disappointed about the treatment of the blackened seasoning. The peppering was way overdone and was intrusive to the flavor, which was a shame since the seafood was so fresh. We've had very fine, blackened dishes in the past and unfortunately, this one was a sour note. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere of this top-notch restaurant felt very local, bustling with a nice down-to-earth vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm sure we will return for some of the best seafood in VB.

Old Fashioned
Melissa M.

This was my first time trying this restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's definitely got a local vibe to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I sat at the bar and their tiramisu lovely older couple next to me I could tell was local to the area. The waitress was very friendly and the customer service was impeccable. I order an Old Fashioned and a 1/2 dozen raw oysters. I don't normally eat Virginia Oysters, I guess I'm very picky but I told myself why not give it a go. The Oysters were very fresh and delicious. I also ordered the Special which was the shrimp and grits and it was divine. I love their take on the dish. They put bell peppers, celery, and onions on top with the shrimp and grits. It was so good. I definitely enjoyed my dinner here at this local spot and can't wait to return.

I walked in, and the entire room seemed to stop. People turned and stared. I smiled at a few of them, hoping to break the tension, but they just kept staring. I sat down at the bar and waited quietly -- five, maybe ten minutes. I had no problem being patient as I understand bartenders can get busy. But while I sat there, I watched her serve others, chat with regulars, and even tell one that she'd just given him some fresh drinks. She continued cleaning her bar but never once acknowledged me. Not even a "Hi" or "I'll be right with you." Then she poured herself a Red Bull into her personal cup, walked right past me, and struck up a friendly conversation with the man next to me -- loud and casual -- asking if he was "golfing this weekend." That made it clear: she wasn't going to serve me. As a BLACK veteran, that moment hit hard. This bar, with all its patriotic décor, made it clear that their version of "supporting the troops" doesn't include people like me. I didn't serve my country to protect ignorance or racism -- especially not from those who wrap themselves in the flag while looking down on others. This place can take their support and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

Now the burnt ends... OMG, amazing. Easily one of the highlights of the night. Our lamb chops weren't originally cooked to the temperature we requested, but the flavor was good and they quickly re-prepared them with no issue, which we appreciated. P.S: The server and host were attentive and nice, so the low rating is entirely for the food. My bf and I ordered a truffle fries to share, I ordered the Braveheart Ribeye with broccolini and risotto(forgot what flavor but it was cooked in a cream sauce), and my bf ordered the Ribeye Lasagna. The truffle fries: the fries tasted fresh but they looked like the b-dub fries. Comes with ketchup, which I was hoping for some sort of aioli for an upscale chophouse. The Braveheart Ribeye: The temperature was what I asked for(medium rare), but the char is straight up crispy brunt and bitter as if I'm eating charcoal pieces. I also ordered a demi glaze on the side, and that tasted and looked like some McCormick sauce. No demi-glaze flavor and the color is transparent like those powdered gravy packets. The broccolini was bitter. They were tucked under the steak so maybe the brunt from the steak went onto the broccolini... The risotto was creamy but they were undercooked cuz they were still hard. My bf said his Ribeye Lasagna just tasted like a normal lasagna like he couldn't tell the difference of normal beef and the "ribeye meat" that they used, but it was a big size and the sauce was pretty good so he thinks it's worth the money. The creme brulee... I have this tradition with my bf which we will order a creme brulee(if the restaurant provides) during our first visit. I'm no Michelin creme brulee reviewer, but I'd say I tried and made enough creme brulee to identify what a standard and good creme brulee is, and unfortunately this just ain't one. The flame on top is a cool gimmick but it melts the supposedly crispy top to a little too soft (we waited for about 5 mins after the flame was gone before eating it). The texture of the creme was NOT creme brulee but more like flan, when the creme should've been more of a custard/solid but creamy like texture. We were told their creme brulee has a little orangey-taste to it, but the orangey taste just totally covers the flavor of creme brulee. All we could taste was a bitter orange flan. Although my bf likes his lasagna, we both agreed that for this price we would've expected better tasting food. I have no doubt that the ingredients they used were high quality, but this is just not gonna go nowhere when you don't have the right chef to cook them.
