Possibly the best $4 (per person) you will ever spend. We first went to the Blue hole spring near the caves, however the water was murky and brown with poor visibility. So I googled nearby springs and this recreation area came up. I was totally surprised to pull up and find that the water was super clear and blue. They have a pretty large swimming area with a diving board and slides. There is plenty of room to lay out and get sun. Also allow you to swim outside of the main area. The lifeguards were super friendly when I asked if I could swim outside the area and even told me where the underground cave was outside of the main area. Underneath the diving board is an entrance to another underwater cave. Be aware that there is a current in the main swimming area. We really enjoyed swimming/snorkeling in the area and seeing the underwater caves. It's a great value!!! I highly recommend hanging out here if you're in the area!! read more

This place is a GEM. It's clean and beautiful and has restrooms. There's no sand just grass and rocks. There's a diving board and a slide and multiple ways to get in and out of the water. The entrance steps to the water are really slippery but luckily there are railings that kept me stable. There are many picnic tables to sit at and lots of parking available in the lot. There was an entrance fee of 4 dollars which is reasonable. The wild life here was magnificent, birds of prey everywhere that fly right over your head while swimming. The swimming area is separated from the bigger area of the spring meant for boating and such. The only downside I would say is the amount of nats that were present and their persistence to surround you. Other than that, it's the best spring i've been to yet and I will without a doubt be going back. read more

Blue Springs is beautiful and a MUST SEE!! In the winter the Manatees come in and it's absolutely splendid to see!! During the hot summers there is bother better then swimming or floating down the springs!! read more

On a super hot day this is a great local swimming hole that is sure to cool you down! But let's not stop there! Want to have a picnic and bring watermelon. Just place it in the water till you're ready to eat it will stay cold as if it were kept in a refrigerator along with beverages or anything you want kept cold. Only spring I've been to that cost money. It was a big let down. Bathrooms were nasty and there were so many people that none of the amenities or concession stands were operative.. the lady who told us no Kayla's was so rude lol. Not worth the time or money. read more

10/10 would go again! Blue Springs is a gem located approximately five miles east of Marianna, FL. Admission is $4/person (cash). Kayaks and paddle boats are available for rental and Scuba-certified visitors can go cave diving for an additional fee. The swimming hole is located atop the main spring. Diving board and slide available for more fun! There's essentially no current all the way to the Chipola River making kayaking a breeze. My fiancé and I brought our own kayaks and put in at the park. Even with a slow drizzle of rain, the paddle was great! We saw an otter within 10 minutes of being on the water! Plenty of birds, fish, and turtles to see also. Various smaller springs are located on the way to the Chipola River marked by small docks. These areas serve as perfect resting spots and swimming areas. The water is clear and cold. This place was absolutely fantastic. Took my whole family there all the kids had a really fun time. They had snacks for all the kids a child area for the small kids. We even got to see divers going into the hole a really fantastic place for everyone can't wait to go back next year. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a place to cool off. read more

Great place to cool down on a hot day. Ice cold springs, crystal clear water. Quite a crowd on the weekends but has a great friendly vibe. Perfect families. This is the head of the Spring and boils out of the ground from a cave you can jump directly over. Snack bar on site or bring a picnic lunch. Life guard on duty. A great way to experience old Florida. Not many places like this still around. read more

Blue springs has always been a favorite spot to swim since I was young. The water is always cold and the convenience of the concession stand makes it a perfect spot for a hot day. Another great perk is their boat rentals! If you take someone with you to enjoy a day of beautiful scenery you have to ride the paddle boats. Place is beautiful but was very crowed when we went(holiday)which we expected, no parking direction given when you go in and no shade. Kayak dropping off was a mess to get to & launch. The family that rented the pavilion by the kids play area were smoking dope. People parked in handicapped areas that had no handicapped tag/ hanger. Bathroom floor had poop on the floor that had been there for a minute. Once out on the water it was peaceful. We didn't get to swim at the springhead because it was so crowded. Area has had improvements ( nice seawall, large pavilion which you have to rent)What was nice is the price was only $4 per person to get into park. But I wish we had just used the free public Hunters Fish Camp this holiday to launch our kayaks. Pond is known for scuba diving, fishing shellcracker, kayaing, water is crystal clear & we saw a lot of wildlife. Snakes, fish, turtles, birds. I don't think we will ever visit again on a holiday. read more

My fiancé and I met here today. We are living apart at the moment for our jobs so this was a halfway point. The springs is pretty and the water is refreshingly cold. The bad part of the day was when the lifeguards heard thunder one time and made everyone get out of the water. The sun was shining and there were small clouds in the distance. They lost a lot of people making everyone get out and it not being actual bad weather. read more

Unlike the Wakulla Springs, Blue springs appear tohave not been corrupted with water quality issues. I looked at the spring by the swimming hole, and you could see clear to the bottom. ( I was told 25 to 35 ft down) The water is crystal clear and great for swimming although it is a bit cold at 78° year-round. If you're looking for nature in Florida, make sure you stop by and see Blue springs. read more
