This place is so cute and quaint for just the perfect stay. The restaurant is great and the food is wonderful. Everyone is so sweet and accommodating . I spent two days at the blueberry mansion to celebrate my friend's and owners announcing the gender of their upcoming baby. It was a delightful weekend, the staff is very friendly and respectful, the typical southern hospitality! The place is the heart of the community and people meet there from pretty much anywhere in a 30 miles radius, so lot of opportunities to encounter interesting folks. The mansion has a golf course onsite, and a hunting ranch, sand dunes, wetlands are all attractions within 30 mins drive and the beach is within an hour and a half. The place changed owners just before covid so there is still some work to catch up and renovate the place but it has a great potential. The food is abundant and flavorful even though I had way too much fried food for my healthy taste but hey, once in a while we all can be guilty The bar has a good choice of drinks and a nice selection of signature cocktails using local blueberry juice. Make sure to also ask for the electric lemonade which is another local favorite. read more

First time here. I ate the Cajun shrimp and grits and my fiancé had the Tuscan chicken Alfredo and both were amazing!! Cooked perfect, flavor was great. Very sweet southern ladies serving and service was great. Blueberry lemonade tasted awesome too. I highly recommend everyone to come and try this place. read more

3 years ago and my kids still have PTSD from our experience at the Blueberry Mansion. In 2020 my friend was getting married at the mansion. My wife, mother and 3 boys came with me as we booked two inside rooms for two nights. The night before the wedding and the night of the wedding. When we checked in the lady at the front desk told us they will have a continental breakfast the next morning and that there would be a small party in the bar that night but they would be done around 9-9:30. The only other individual who rented a room at the mansion that night was the soon to be bride. The groom and I left the mansion around 7:30 to go to his place and sit by a fire and kick back a few. Around 11pm we started getting calls from our wife and fiancé about the party that was shaking the walls and keeping them up. I called several times to the mansion to try and get an answer and after 40 minutes of calling, management finally answered. I asked why the 9-9:30 party downstairs was still going and keeping their guest up. They informed me it would be over by 12-12:30 now. I said this was unacceptable. They offered for my wife, mother, 3 kids and the future bride the option of getting out of bed and packing everything up and moving to one of their outside lower priced rooms in December when it was a decently cold night. I yelled a few expletives in my frustration. The next morning we find out it was a staff Christmas party that they were having that was keeping their guest up. When the groom and I get to the mansion my wife informs me the continental breakfast was two boxes of cereal on a cart with a gallon of milk. The staff was supposed to decorate the front porch area, dinning room and outside gazebo for the wedding. They put two poinsettia out in the front porch and called it quits. I talked to management that morning about cancelling the second night as the first night experience for everyone was not pleasant. They said that I was cancelling within 24 hours so I would still be charged the full price. I informed them I was not leaving the counter until I received a full refund for night two as it was their Christmas party the first night as to why we would not continue our stay. Their statement was well we are not having a party tonight other than the wedding your attending . I stood their until they refunded me. After that my mother, the bride and grooms mother started decorating the dining room area. While the groom and myself started working on setting up the chairs and the gazebo area to make it look nice with zero help from the staff. The wedding itself went great. The food was decent that they made. The venue is really nice. The entire venue was supposed to be for just the wedding guest. At the reception in the bar after the first dance and the other normal wedding activities a local who drinks there often was allowed in and proceeded to get hammered. He then decided to try and dance and grind up on the brides mom. He was quickly grabbed by several men and tossed outside when everyone found out he was not with the bride or grooms party. The staff at the mansion knew who the guy was and allowed him to come into the wedding and serve him drinks. He tried to come back in after being kicked out which results in him getting knocked out. My kids who were 12, 10 and 8 at the time still talk about the Blueberry Mansion as the worst weekend ever. The entire wedding could have gone way different if management would have just done their job as host. read more

This is a hidden gem in South Georgia! It has been under new management since January, so the other reviews are irrelevant. The new owners go above and beyond to make everything amazing- the inn, the golf course, the pool, and the restaurant. The food was AMAZING! I love this place. I have stayed here twice and have been impressed each time. The most recent stay was in June and under the new ownership. Reservations, checking in, etc. are very smooth. The rooms are large and comfortable. The restaurant is great - although the options on the menu looked great, the chef created special entrees for me and my client. They were delicious and I can't wait to go back and try them again! read more

The Inn was beautiful, but the reservations are sketchy. I wish I could have stayed there. In fact, I intended to stay there while in town for a wedding. I even booked my room a month in advance. I offered to provide a credit card number to hold the room, but I was told that wasn't necessary. I asked for a confirmation number for my booking, but I was told that they did not do that. Upon arrival, I was told that they did not have a room for me. They did have written record of my call, with the date and kind of room I was requesting, but that information was never transferred from that piece of paper to their official booking form. After waiting an HOUR for the manager to show up to discuss the situation, I was offered a complimentary stay at a dumpy motel a few miles down the road. Nothing like being downgraded to a room with peeling paint, a couch straight out of your grandmother's retirement home, and a view of the fence constructed from shipping pallets leaning on poles to separate the property from the apparent crack house near by, but at least that dumpy motel actually had a bed for me to sleep in when I arrived. I was thoroughly disappointed by the way The Inn at Blueberry Plantation handled their error. Needless to say, if you're planning on staying here, be prepared to end up at the motel instead. How about you update your antiquated reservation system? I won't be returning. read more

What can I say...2 years ago I would have given this place 5 plus stars but now I struggle to give it 1. My husband drives from Atlanta to Alma to work one day a week for 14 weeks a year (blueberry season) and I accompany him every other time. So do our dogs or at least one of them. We enjoyed finding this little gem years ago as it is only about a mile away from where my husband works. We have enjoyed the restaurant in the past and even ended up having to spend our wedding night at the Blueberry Inn! A few weeks ago the 2017 season began so once again we loaded up the truck and dogs to make the trip from Atlanta to Alma. Usually, we are one of the only customers at the inn and get the same room every week! This time was different. We were met by an unfriendly lady, who we had to track down and then she didn't even know we were coming even though we had called! We proceeded to tell her how we would like to book out the next 14 rooms that we would need in advance and pay for them.Then she informed us that there would be a pet fee for BOTH of our dogs this time. This has never happened in the 30 times before that we have stayed there!!! She gruffly said, well we have new management and we are enforcing the rules now! The fee for each dog would nearly double the room cost! We had no choice but for my husband to work into the night and to turn around and make the unsafe drive home the same night. We couldn't afford the extra fee and couldn't just leave the dogs in the truck! It still says on yelp that they accept pets so just be prepared to shell out $40. Last year the management said absolutely nothing about our dogs and there was never any problem with them in the room. They even told us that they even had a guest with a parrot once. The Inn hardly has any business and I guess it didn't hurt them to lose ours! We have been staying at The Hampton Inn and they are glad to have our business. We even get points from all of the nights we booked ! I'm a rule follower but that lady could have told us that next time we would have to pay a fee since we honestly didn't know or at least been sympathetic to our situation, not rude! You are better off to not support this disorganized, local business and just go to the chain hotel where they don't have an antiquated reservation system and are actually expecting you. read more
