First time visiting. The place is going through a remodel and is looking great. I did walk in around 2:30pm- I was the only patron. The vibe and even a local Florist from next door came in, so i can feel that this is a fantastic place. Hope to visit again to experience all they offer. My husband and I were in town and found Blues Katz on yelp. We weren't sure but decided to try it and boy howdy! What fun! We met the new owner Ted - the busiest guy in town and we can see why! Came here around 10am on a Saturday morning. They were not that busy, maybe 2 other tables. At this time in Dec 2022, service is fairly slow. You order from the front and they bring the food to your table. You also get your own silverware from a tray up front and bus your own tables. I got the Zion burrito and the assembly of it was a little strange, unlike any breakfast burrito I've had. The 2 included eggs wrapped up inside were cooked over-hard, not scrambled like I'm used to. You have the choice of bacon or sausage, and my bacon was given on top, not inside like I was expecting. I also ordered the iced coconut cream pie latte, and it was not good. It tasted nothing like coconut, more like a cheap hazelnut latte. I know it's an adventurous flavor, but it could have been better. They do have other interesting flavors available to try, but maybe stick to something more basic. Food is about a 3.5/5, but for the price (less than $10 an item) I can't really complain. Orders do not come with potatoes and toast like the typical brunch spot. This is more café style. Service is friendly so overall experience is a 4/5. Every once in a while, I stumble across a little gem-something that may not be well known, but has potential to be "the" new hip spot. Blues Katz Rock N Roll Grill fits this bill. My family was in town and wanted a quick bite-something more substantial than a drive thru, but not a large meal. We called ahead to see if there was a wait and if they would hold a table for us. (On a Saturday at 11am, you're almost guaranteed a wait anywhere.) The owner took my name and the number in our party and said we would have a table. When we arrived, I chuckled to myself-the majority of the tables were open. But one had a piece of paper with my name and "party of 3" written on it. Our table. I felt a little silly, but also a little special. Who doesn't like to see their name and a table being reserved just for them?! We ordered our food at the counter and then took a seat at our table. The vibe of the place is very intimate. I think it was the owner himself who answered the phone and then greeted us and took our order. He's a col guy. Patrons seemed to appreciate the small town feel of the place. It definitely brings in a variety of folks-great people watching. The food took a little bit to be prepared. From what I could see, the kitchen staff consists of one person making all the food. But it's worth the wait. The coffee was also really good. I learned that live music will start up in November, when they get their liquor license. The restaurant will remain open to all-they won't become a bar. So my music-loving teen will be thrilled to come hear live blues music and sip on some hot chocolate while his mom sits nearby with a glass of wine. Gosh, that sounds so nice! read more

I would advise anyone to call and confirm hours before heading out. We arrived on a Tuesday around noon and by chance we arrived at the same time as the "new management" did. The restaurant was closed and when I told him he may want to adjust his hours on Yelp, his response was that there was just too many things to address after taking on ownership. No apologies or desire for us to come back. Honestly I prob wouldn't anyways as the actual building had signage of "nightclub" and beers etc-we were hoping for breakfast/brunch. Stopped in this little cafe in a strip mall on a Saturday morning after the St. George marathon. Freshly made to order food (accommodating for vegetarians) by friendly owner and staff. We had the Angel's Landing bagel sandwich without meat (fabulous flavors with the eggs crispy around the edges and the sauce was perfect) and the Zion burrito without meat (large and pretty good but the group thought black beans would have been better than pinto). The initial atmosphere is a little jarring, it's pretty quiet in here and it's not a full service restaurant, rather you order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Drinks are from a soda fountain you can fill up yourself. We got the california club and the San Franciscan and both sandwiches were really good. The bread is apparently made by the chef herself and was definitely fresh and super tasty. The sandwiches don't come with a side but it's not really necessary since they really pack them in. The smoothies are good too. If you're looking for good vibes, probably not the place but if you're looking for good sandwiches, definitely. read more

First trip to the new digs since they moved from Washington and changed their name from Zions Blues Cafe to Blues Katz. The place has a similar feel to their previous local but larger and more accommodating to dining in. Service was friendly and fun as usual. I was hungry and excited to order one of my staple breakfast sandwiches which are amazing, but as I was just about to order a plate with pastrami surrounded by marbled rye made its way past me to another patron. It looked so good I had to give it a try. It was better than it looked. More than just a pastrami sandwich, it was a Reuben with sauerkraut and a unique version of 1000 island dressing on tender sheets of delicious pastrami. I love Ruebens and have had lots from many places. This one is in my top 5, absolutely spectacular. We live near the old location which is why it's taken so long to get to this one, but I'll be back...soon. read more

I'm so glad we went out of our way to stop by this little spot. They had stopped serving breakfast when we arrived on Sunday, but I was pleasantly pleased with my lunch. I ordered the veggie sandwich, which sounds pretty basic. But let me tell you, the fresh bread used in this sandwich is truly amazing--you must order order a sandwich with this bread. To say that I could have eaten an entire loaf is only a slight exaggeration. The veggies and vinaigrette were also very yummy. I had such high hopes for this place. It took forever to open. It hasn't yet figured out it's brand story and personality. Service is really slowwwwww. I stood there for more than 30 minutes while the owner's wife cooked in the kitchen for two meals to go. And where's the music? Every time I ask, it's like "not this week because...". The food was just not compelling enough to want to keep trying. A pity. We need a good jazz and blues jam-session hangout for the musicians in this town. read more

After we sat down they told us they only had 2 bagels so we switched sandwich to a croissant. 2 bagels came out and they were cheddar cheese. With jam?? Ok whatever. I ordered the breakfast burrito. Fresh avocado which was nice. Eggs prepared pretty well minus seasoning. Sausage was round Jimmy John patties, not ground up or anything. Salsa was pace picante sauce, no joke. Ordered a bunch of drinks too. Hot chai was fine. Cold was terrible. Smoothie was laughable. 90% apple juice and not frozen at all. It was pretty much a disaster across the board. Would never go back for the food but looks like they have a nice setup for bands. So maybe go at night for a burger and live music or something....your mileage may vary. read more

Went to Blues Katz on a Saturday night in hopes of having a good time, listening to the live band and having a few drinks. The place is set up with tables better than when it was Jazzy's and the decor was nice. Two 16-17 y.o. girls were at the door selling wristbands at $10 each . I didn't know that kids under 21 we're allowed to be in a bar(?) They didn't have any answers to the few simple questions we asked. My friend walked to the bar to order drinks while I got a table. While he was waiting to order, he observed the owner/host being rude and condescending toward the bartender. Enough so that she began to cry. He paid $38.00, yes, you read that correctly, $38.00 for a Crown and water and a vodka water. Outrageous! We sat and waited for the drinks for about 20 minutes, listening to the band, which was quite good, but so very loud that we could barely hear each other speaking directly into the others ear. This venue is just too small for a loud band..... We still hadn't received our drinks We finally went to the bar to pick them up. The bartender told us she had already made the drinks, we told her we hadn't gotten them. She turned to the owner and told him he'd delivered our drinks to the wrong table, she was frustrated with him, he didn't seem to care She quickly made us replacements. We'd had enough. Owner is arrogant, prices are ludicrous and I don't want to give him anymore of My hard earned money . We walked out with our drinks in hand. Will Not be back! read more

Oh WOW!! What a find!!' Must visit! My new "GoTo Favorite Place!" I will be back again and again! My girlfriend and I were getting ready to go out for coffee and breakfast, we we're headed to our favorite breakfast place... again, when I asked her, "Do you want to try something new?" Of course, I had to take a taste of my girlfriend ham croissant, which was also fantastic, she loved it too! We ordered hot coffee mochas, I got the Raspberry Mocha, and it was wonderful, but after half the cup I felt maybe, for me, it was just a bit too sweet, should have got a smaller cup; I got large...me, splurging. ;) My girlfriend got a regular mochas, and she said it was perfect. We stayed inside, where the place is very comfortable with traditional wood and metal chairs and tables; a relaxed and comfortable feel. We talked to the owner, a tall thin man with amazing long curly white hair, as kind as one could be, if you see him walking the floor be sure to say hi! You can tell he loves what he's doing, the passion comes through in his voice. The price was very reasonable, our entire meal, both amazing sandwiches and two coffees only cost $20. I felt that was a bargain for the quality of food. Be careful, this place is new, at the time I'm writing this, they're still moving in, and we almost didn't stop, we weren't sure they were open, I'm sure glad we did. read more

Zion Blues Cafe is a local, laid back place to eat. I'm reminded every time I come why I prefer eating local over chains. The food here is fresh. I always feel so good after eating here. Love this little gem! It's quaint plays great music! Owner is very friendly and roasts and sells coffee beans! He's been doing it for 28 years and knows his stuff about coffee. The food is excellent. A must try are the Spring Rolls. They are made fresh and you don't need a dipping sauce! They're so good you might want to get extra for later!
