I was in between a 4 and a 5.... Overall, this place is great. Everything on the menu sounded great. I opted for a grain bowl that came with a poached egg, but my egg was beyond boiled haha it was definitely not poached. The tomatoes were a little old, but overall it was a good dish. The gluten free banana bread was also really good! I shared it with my gluten loving guy and he also loved it. It's a nice vibe, no wait on this particular Saturday afternoon because people were at bars watching the World Cup. The matcha was ok, but I'm a snob about my matcha. The only negative thing that my group and I noticed was that 3-4 different girls came over to get our order before we were ready. I appreciate the attention, but we all felt like they were rushing us a bit. Our friends had kids, and we needed a beat to get them settled. We'll still come back for food, for sure... but may skip on the matcha. Cold brew was delicious!

This cafe is such a cute spot! Everything was amazing from service to food! When we walked in we were greeted and helped out right away, our server was also very sweet and gave some great recommendations. The quality of the food taste very fresh! My husband and I really enjoyed it, we think it's definitely a must try if you're in old town Orange!

Located a block away from the Circle, this charming eatery serves breakfast dishes (all day) and sandwiches as well as various coffees. I came with a friend for a late lunch and, upon entering, was told to take a seat anywhere. There are many tables inside and a nice patio, but it was too hot on this day to sit outdoors. We were immediately given a carafe of water and soon ordered our meals. I decided on a croissant sandwich with bacon, scrambled egg, cheddar cheese, with chipotle mayo, along with a hot mocha. The sandwich was superb! The fresh croissant is what really elevated it. The ingredients were all basic but the combination made for a perfect breakfast sandwich. The sandwich came with wedges (I used to call them jojos), which were crisp outside and potatoey-soft inside. Yummy. The mocha was exquisite, a perfect blend of espresso and chocolate, served at an immediately drinkable temperature in a cute mug. Best mocha I've ever had? Probably! Note: Easy parking a block away in the free structure on Lemon Street.

This place is fantastic. We were instantly welcomed by a very sweet young lady with red hair. I LOVE being greeted in this way-it sets the tone for the whole experience. Our server was great and the other young lady that helped cash us out was so personable. 5 stars for the staff, now onto the food. You must order the BL Burrito and vanilla latte. The burrito was flavorful and not spicy. I would order it again for sure. Excellent experience.

Came here on the way to LA from SD and thought it would be a cute brunch place with the family. Staff was overall friendly and the menu had many vegetarian options. They do have a kid menu and high chairs. I thought the food was tasty and for ambiance prices are fair. There was either no wait or a short wait on a Sunday morning. I also saw patrons studying or doing work solo like a cafe. We tried their green goddess salad which was very tasty and light. Their mushroom truffle grilled cheese was delicious as well and came with chips. The kids tried a fairy toast which was a cute idea- buttered toast with sprinkles. They also have protein smoothies, coffee, and tea. The smoothie we tried was good as well and I did not taste the protein. They have outdoor seating.

Came here with a group of 9 and they put us at the big table in the back. Aesthetic is really cute and the servers were attentive. My main reason for giving it 2 stars is because our entire table got their dishes except for 1. After asking two different servers, we were never really given an answer as to where her dish was. Finally someone came by saying it's coming ... yet it took another 5 minutes (by this time, almost everyone was done). The server just handed us the last dish with no apology and simply walked away. I would have expected that dish to be comped for coming out almost 20 minutes later than everyone else's but it wasn't. She took off someone else's drink on our bill instead? Didn't make much sense. Lastly, the pancakes were so sooo dry.

Food - Get the B.L.A.T.E sandwich! You can skip the lemon ricotta pancakes that everyone seems to rave about? We ordered them to try since the were mentioned so much every time we heard about Bluestone but they weren't anything special. They were good but there was too much ricotta and hardly any lemon IMO. The sandwich though, 5 stars! My husband and I couldn't decide between the sandwich and the burrito so we got both to split and while both were good, the sandwich was the star of the day. The little fries on the side were also delicious Coffee - meh. We both got vanilla lattes, I don't love overly sweet coffee but this one didn't taste like it didn't have any syrup in it. I would come back for the food but not the coffee. Ambiance - cute, clean and bright. Can't beat cute little old town to walk around when you're done either. Service - My husband and I came in for breakfast before the Valentine's Day rush states everywhere, I think we showed up shortly after 9 and were seated right away and our orders came out in a fair amount of time Price - for our 2 lattes and basically 3 dishes, it was $82 I think? With tip? Pricey for breakfast IMO but it is what it is. The prices are probably about the same at any other spot in eye sight too.

We finally checked out Bluestone Lane in Orange and honestly left feeling pretty underwhelmed, so we are giving it 3 stars. We had the avocado smash and one of the grain bowls, but both were very mediocre and just lacked any real flavor for the price. We also felt like the service was pretty much absent the entire time we were there, which made the experience even more frustrating. To top it off, the whole place was kind of dirty, from the tables to the floors, which isn't really what you want when you are trying to enjoy a meal. The one saving grace is the outside patio area. It is a really nice spot to sit on a clear day and we love that it is doggie friendly so our four legged family members can join us. There is also plenty of metered parking nearby which makes getting there easy. While the patio vibe is great, the lack of cleanliness and subpar food mean we probably will not be back.

Cute Aussie inspired brunch place in Old Town Orange. Pretty busy on a Saturday morning. It was understaffed so service was a bit lacking. But the food was good, as was the coffee. Me and my boyfriend were looking for a pick me up and we wanted coffee . I got the iced vanilla latte and he got the quad latte iced with oat milk . Both of the coffees were really good and you can tell that the beans were super fresh . We don't get any food because we were full but the food sounded super amazing . We planned on having brunch here yesterday after visiting Thompson Building Materials' design center in Orange as I had bookmarked this place for a while now. Finding parking in Old Town Orange on the weekends can be gnarly so I stood in line while my hubs looked for street parking. They don't take reservations and the wait took about 20 mins. Nice decor, light and bright inside. The service was friendly. We ordered coffee and hot chocolate but they were not hot. My hubs ordered the BL Burrito while I opted for the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Unfortunately, both items were underwhelming for the price. For the pancakes, I expected the lemon ricotta in the batter, but since the lemon curd was poured on top, only the top cake had a hint of lemon and ricotta. The BL Burrito was just ok. For those who use inKind to pay their tab, you must place your order from the app. You cannot just pay at the end of your meal and enter the receipt # as all other restaurants do.

My experience at Bluestone lane was just okay. The interior is decorated very cute and whimsical. The atmosphere is calm and located in the beautiful old town Orange. The food was alright, I enjoyed my avocado toast but it was nothing special. My boyfriend ordered a sandwich that was kind of dry. They forgot to bring the sauce for him, which was supposed to be a creamy relish I think? But the sauce they brought out looked like curdled sour cream with chili. Smelled and tasted very off... They also forgot to add the cheese on my avocado toast (it's pictured since we asked for it afterwards), took 20 mins to take our order even though it was empty, and overall the service seemed rude. The coffee also was just okay, nothing memorable. Wish the service and food was better since it is a very pretty location.

Bluestone Lane is so charming. I love the cafe ambiance here. It's in Old Towne Orange just off the circle. There isn't a ton of parking, so best to park in a lot and walk over. The BLATE (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato and egg was HEAVENLY. The brioche bun was soft and the perfect complement for the breakfast sandwich. The potato wedges were decent although I could have done without them. I also had their version of an Americano and I have to say, the best espresso flavor I have had in a long time. Good flavor without being too bitter. The service was good, although I think one server had the entire restaurant and that seemed like too much for one person. She was incredibly nice and helpful. The music was a little loud and didn't quite fit the ambiance, but that may just be a me thing. Overall, will return!

Came here on July 5th and honestly had one of the slowest dining experiences ever. We were seated around 11:30, ordered by 11:45, and didn't get our food until 1:15. Everyone around us seemed to be dealing with the same thing. I used to manage restaurants, so I totally get that things happen and sometimes places are understaffed. I'm usually super understanding. But in this case, there was no manager in sight and our server wasn't great. When the food finally showed up, we still didn't even have silverware. After waiting an hour and a half, you'd think that silverware would at least be on the table lol Our friend has a gluten allergy and asked for a side salad instead of fries (since the fries are cross-contaminated), but the food still came out with fries. We didn't want to wait another hour for them to fix it. Honestly, her meal or at least our coffees should've been comped, but nope, we paid full price for everything. Again, I get that restaurants have off days, but when you're waiting over an hour for food, someone should at least check in, apologize, or try to make it right. Hopefully this was just a one-time thing, but I don't think we'll be back. read more

Was not a good day for BlueStone especially on Fathers day. Ordered a Chicken Pesto but didnt have pesto in it, so our waitress said she would have the chef remake the chicken pesto in 5 minutes. She took our regular chicken sandwich back, and returned in like 1 minute with a "pesto chicken sandwich". The same sandwich that they put pesto in it, but claimed it was a new sandwich. Was lucky enough to snap a photo of the before and after. Next was the cups, filthy and not washed properly. The food was okay compared to the other brunch places next door, def not worth the price. read more

From the outside, you think it's a small café but it actually is quite large inside ample amount of seating great coastal sea vibes to it and the menu had great brunch options! I met up with a friend here and we both really enjoyed our foods. I had ordered the soft chili scramble with avocado! It was some of the best breakfast item I've had in a long time!! We came on a Saturday around 1:30 pm. We parked at a nearby parking structure and walked here. They have outdoor and indoor seating areas. I would not recommend coming here for a quick bite because the whole process from waiting to getting our food took 1 hour and 45 minutes. I felt like they are short staff because they had some empty tables but we were not sat until 30 minutes later. The employees were extremely friendly though and always checked in on us if we needed anything. Inside, it was nicely decorated and definitely a nice place to sit to enjoy brunch. I saw there was a few people sitting and doing work here. They did have outlets but it can be loud and there's servers moving around so I don't know if it's an ideal study spot. Order: - $17.75 Brekkie Board (7/10): half serving of both avocado smash (avocado, feta, tomato & microgreens on multigrain) & gluten-free collective granola (greek yogurt, gluten-free granola, lemon curd & fresh berries). This dish was not bad, it was just avocado toast and granola so hard to mess up. - $16 Athlete's Burrito (6.5/10): contains scrambled egg whites, chimichurri mayo, spinach, lentil, roasted tomato, avocado & feta; served with side salad. My favorite part of the burrito was the scrambled egg whites and avocado. The egg whites were extremely fluffy! The roasted tomato ruined the burrito for me. It was really sour. Great location and design! Orange circle has a lot of breakfast/brunch places but this coffee shop brought its own unique vibe, design and taste to the neighborhood. Very cute, warm decoration. Quality of coffee and food is great. Parking can be issue during weekends but you can always go park in the park structure within 5 minutes walk. read more

I came here with a friend for lunch and as soon as we walked in, I was taken aback by the cute decor inside. The restaurant is the cleanest and the staff is inviting. We were immediately welcomed by the amazing staff. Menu is pretty good and the selections seem very healthy. I ordered the BBQ Brisket Sandwich and it was amazing. The meat was so tender and the glaze/seasoning was perfect. It had a slight kick but nothing I couldn't handle. It came with homemade chips that I really liked. The sandwich was so huge that I could only eat one half of it, so obviously, the rest went back with me. The quality was by far higher than I expected. I really recommend this location for either breakfast or lunch. You will definitely find something that will be well worth it. I will be back since it is close to my work and plus, I have a few specialty drinks on my bookmarks. read more

Service - The servers were very attentive and moved my friends and I to a back table when they saw us shivering by the door. However, I ordered a latte with no vanilla and was given and charged extra for a vanilla latte. Ambiance - Beautiful. I loved the space and decor. Food - I tried the Bayside Burger, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and Rainbow Bowl. Everything in the Rainbow Bowl tasted fresh but it was nothing special. Pancakes were a bit dense but the light lemon flavor was delightful. The beef in the Bayside Burger was dry but the burger tasted decent overall. Honestly, this place is nothing special and I would not go out of my way to try it but the coffee was delicious and the food was decent if you happen to be around the area anyways. read more

The hubs suggested coming here for brunch. Let's just say it's the last time he's picking anywhere to eat. The restaurant is stunning inside with the lighting. It took us about ten minutes to be seated despite the restaurant being relatively empty. The food came out quickly. All the dishes were presented beautifully. However, everything fell short in terms of flavor. The hubs had the Bayside Beef Burger. He said it was very dry and lackluster. The best thing on the plate were the crispy potato wedges. I had the Warm Chicken & Ancient Grains bowl. This was an extremely underwhelming dish. The roasted vegetables were so oily. Some of the vegetables were very hard and tough to bite through. The chicken was tender but there were maybe four small slices. Even drizzled with the tahini dressing, the entire dish was bland. I ordered my kids the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and Keen Green smoothie to share. They hardly touched any of their food. They normally love pancakes and smoothies, too. The pancakes were dry. The whipped ricotta on top didn't save it. Sadly to say we didn't enjoy any of the food or even the leftovers the next day. read more

I went for breakfast there and ordered lemon ricotta pancake and my son ordered a bowl of tomato soup. Pancakes didn't taste like lemon ricotta but there a scoop of ricotta cheese on the top of the pancakes that didn't taste that great, I ate maybe quarter size of it, and the bowl of soup was the size of a cup of soup, we also ordered regular coffee and iced tea and ended up paying $50.00! By seeing the Yelp reviews, I was expecting something spectacular. Sadly, I'm disappointed. First of all, the prices are atrocious. My breakfast bowl should not have been $16. It should have been $8 maybe. It was a little bit of sautéed spinach or kale and hardly any quinoa. One large avocado which was a little ripe. The bowl itself was good but then the sautéed veggies tasted too mushy. We also ordered a breakfast burrito which was overkill on potatoes. It was good but too much potatoes. I also ordered a pumpkin spice latte and was super disappointed. It had overkill nutmeg or some spice on top. When I first walked in it took about 5 mins to be noticed, that was also disappointing. You will receive terrible service if you are not white. My friend and I are people of color and were left over 20 minutes without being attended after seating ourselves. A white group came in next to us and were quickly attended once they got there from a white server, which he walked past us and got to us on his way out. Space is big and they have a patio (pet friendly) We've been a few times and have not come across a bad dish - everything is presented beautifully and tastes delicious! We come here religiously every Saturday morning for breakfast. We really like the blade, the BL burrito, the waffle, the vanilla latte, The Golden latte, and love trying the seasonal things that pop up. It's a really cute restaurant. Come here the coffee. I first tried BL when one or their shops opened in Los Angeles. I really enjoyed all their coffees/lattes and was always intrigued by their food options. I've been to the Orange location a handful of times, mostly for coffee and a couple times for coffee & brunch. I've been to Bluestone Lane a handful of times now, and it never disappoints! Very authentic Melbourne-style cafe. The flat white I had was excellent-- Paired it with a croissant, which was really one of the best I've ever had actually. The girl who served us was super nice and a great barista too. Nice chill place with plenty of seating inside and out. Love all the healthy options, kind of reminds me of True Foods, which I love! My breakfast burrito was yummy and loved the potato wedges. They we're seasoned well and crispy. The lemon ricotta pancakes were perfect. Delicious and not very sweet at all. The baked eggs were good. It it was a little over cooked. I was surprised to find out that there are no free refills ice tea... in my opinion they should. Overall it was good and I would come back. Definitely worth visiting if you haven't been. read more

I have gone the past 2 years and never had issues getting it on the first day. This year was different. I got there around 5:05 and walked into the shop to see a lot of tables empty. I was shocked to see that. I waited in line with maybe like two people in front of me and guess what they asked of Pliny was still available. The guy working said to the people in front of me that they sold out. It was my turn I asked if they had it and the guy said that they had a line since 3pm and that they sold out of the keg. We ended up getting two beers since we went anyways but that's when things didn't add up. He kept telling all the other people that started to show up the same thing. These are reasons why it didn't add up 1) empty seats inside but had a line since 3pm and beer was released at 4pm 2) I don't think the people going for younger would just order one beer and not try other RR beers? 3) only one guy working beer counter and having to clean the tables and make sandwiches? 4) 12 oz pours of beer and keg with about 1984 oz would make it 166 beers. No way they sold 166 beers in an hour with one person working the bar and shop empty in an hour. They could have posted on their instagram or socials that they sold out but failed to do so. I'm sure a lot of people all night were disappointed to see that they didn't have it or post anything about it.

This was my first time at Bluestone Lane and was excited to try it. I arrived around 9:20-9:30 and was told I can sit anywhere right away. I ordered a matcha which came quickly. The matcha was good but I have also had better. My waiter came back and asked how my day was going and I asked about his and he said his day was going well since it wasn't busy today. After that he took my food order. It had been 40 minutes and he had walked past by me a few times but never came to ask me if everything was okay or gave me an update on my food. I was feeling very disappointed so I went to the cashier and explained that I ordered food 40 min ago, she was kind and said the matcha was on the house. But after reading several reviews now, I will not be returning and highly do not recommend this establishment. Snooze, Kimmies, and the Filling station are better options with excellent customer service that are also in the area. read more

I had a disappointing experience at Bluestone. There was no host to greet us on a busy Sunday brunch time. They were lacking a check-in and seating system. The busser seated people out of order, and our waitress paused during our order to grab a piece of paper. It took 45 minutes to get our food, and we had to ask multiple times for updates. The service and attention to detail were slow, and the food quality was mediocre. This location should implement a better system for their staff. The chaotic atmosphere and the barista stepping in to take orders at tables added to the frustration. It was a far cry from our enjoyable experience at the SF location. Sadly, this visit didn't live up to our expectations. read more

Wow, what an interesting place this is, talk about a one-woman show! The ambience is nice and there's plenty of outdoor seating, but don't expect service that's for sure. If it wasn't for my server Rachel, I don't think I would've given five stars, but she is a superstar! She was so attentive and helpful, despite having to serve everyone else in the restaurant, as well as take care of food, running and bussing! This is my new favorite cafe! I have been coming as often as possible for the delicious food and the lovely atmosphere. I absolutely adore the smoothie bowls, lattes, and avocado toast. Iced lattes were good. If you love Mayo, this is your place. The croissant breakfast sandwich had so much Mayo dressing that it over powered the sandwich and made it very messy. Wasn't expecting Mayo in a breakfast sandwich. Same for my friend that ordered a breakfast burrito. It had even more Mayo than my sandwich! Service is slow and lacking. Very cute inside.
