This place is amazing. All the lots are privately owned and decorated differently. We got a platinum canal spot. It had a large ticket but with a large fridge, fireplace, 70" tv, microwave, sound system, lots of seating, dock, outdoor shower, fish cleaning station and bar. Lots of cabinets to store thins in too. It was fenced in for our dogs too. They have kayak rentals and a pool. A game room and bar and shower and laundry are near the pool. Rude, just rude staff. Called in to my a 45 day reservation and it was nothing but difficult and disrespectful and then got hung up on. 300 bucks a night and a campground with a bad attitude. That's not 5 star when information is given disrespectfully. Your staff needs new training. But if you're that booked with other people that tolerate it because you are expensive because of those side outdoors living areas. I just you can treat people badly when they are just calling you for information and pricing. If you don't want to deal with questions maybe improve your website so we don't have to call with questions. read more

This R.V. park was like paradise. Small R.V. park about 10miles from Key West. We chose a canal site because we love to fish and figured there would be better fishing on the canal side. The lot was big enough for our 30ft motorhome. We had our own private tiki hut, porch over the canal, fans, outside tv, and lots of privacy. Very dog friendly. Clean park. Only cons was each site is privately owned. Some owners take better care of their site than others. We were at canal site 3. Our lawn chair was broken, only 9 lights in the tiki hut actually lit up ( we still had enough light), and the solar lights on the dock were broke (no biggy). We still had a blast and can't wait to go back. They have a small pool at the end of the park which is not busy at all and perfect for a quick cool down. From our spot we saw many fish, string ray, two nurse sharks, and a seahorse. This truly is a paradise R.V. park and I highly recommend it. read more

In the top3 of our favorite RV spots. We had site #16 and it was gorgeous! Comfy sofa, big screen TV, and a kitchen setup for outdoor dining. Our site backed up to a canal with private homes across the way, and was very quiet & relaxing. The RV resort is less than 20 minutes from Key West proper so very close for activities in town. This time of year--end of summer, not quite time for the snowbirds to return--we had the park pretty much to ourselves, even though we saw other sites occupied. We will definitely put this on our "must return" list and try for a longer stay! read more

About 20 minutes past Big Pine Key, 20-30 minutes outside downtown Key West you will find an RV park of paradise- this is Disney-style paradise with the beauty of our glorious sunshine state. Each site is privately owned and rented out, some are phenomenal, some are more basic, some are on the water, facing east for the rising sun, some are on a canal to wake, fish and watch the sunset over the trees. Some are not waterfront, but ours, ours has a private backyard pool entrance - a few other of ours neighbors had this too, nice comfort station to shower, if your not using your full-hook-up. Private tiki had kitchen, fridge, couch, huge TV- makes for another outdoor living space - spread out! Improvements=fence in the pet area and make another one for those in the back of the park. The ground is very hot to make the pups walk from the back sites to from pet area. Somewhere put charcoal grills. Somewhere. Last, kept the pool open past sunset and a spa would be the icing on the BWK cake.. read more

Drove here all the way from San Diego, CA and it was, by far, one of the best RV resorts we have stayed at. Each site is individually owned and decorated differently. The pool is very nice and the laundry on site is clean. RV site prices range from Silver to Platinum and the price also depends on location of the site (Canal to Bayfront). We stayed in two separate sites. Both were Gold Bayfront sites. The first one we stayed at was worth every penny. The tiki hut was huge with plenty of comfortable furniture and a large outdoor TV. The 2nd one we stayed at had a small tiki hut with 2 hard picnic tables at the same cost as the first. So I would just recommend doing your research ahead of time to see what the sites have. We booked the 2nd site last minute and to us it wasn't worth the money we spent. Would we come back? Most definitely! We loved our time spent here and the staff is very friendly as well. read more

This is a perfect RV Resort in the Keys! About 10 miles from a Key West, it's a tropical paradise with SHADE! The Tiki Huts on each site is amazing for enjoying the outdoors even when it's hot outside! Lots of privacy as well with the huts and tropical plants. The staff has been friendly and very helpful. It's perfect if you like flats fishing in a shallow boat. All waterfront and canal front sites have a dock. The Bay side gets the best breeze. Also nice biking trails to the right and left of the entrance. We will be back! read more

The rules at this RV park change depending on who's checking in. Pulled up with no reservations and asked if they have vacancy, the lady said that the most expensive spot is available ($250 per night). I said okay, I will take it. She said it's a 3 night minimum, I said fine. She then asked how many people, I said 2 adults and 3 children, she looked at my camper and said, is that "green thing" yours? I said yes, it's my first travel trailer and that I'm new at RV'ing. All of a sudden the $750 I was prepared to pay her wasn't sufficient and the camper slot available had hook ups on the "opposite" side and that it will be difficult to back up and that the water is deep and not good for kids etc etc... Then she said, maybe Boyd's down the street is better with kids. Okay... maybe I can come back when I'm retired, in my 70s with a pastel colored motorhome and no children. read more

This resort really is beautifully landscaped. There was a good level of privacy between sites, due to the lush foliage, & maintenance was frequently visible during the day. They pick up garbage & recycling from the sites between 8am-1pm daily, which was handy. They pick up fallen palm fronds, etc. Our spot was #36, with a large, spacious tiki hut. We used the refrigerator, a full-sized one, which was clean. We didn't use the dishwasher, a nice convenience, or anything else except the 3 ceiling fans & the standing oscillating fan. The fans made it possible to sit outside, as breezes didn't really come through very well. The bathrooms were very clean during most of our 6-night stay. One night my daughter & I were in the women's bathroom & there were several very loud guys in the men's room. They were yelling loudly & having a great time--it went on the entire time that we used the showers. At some point one or more of them opened the door to the women's room & came in, stopped only because others in the group yelled at them. We stayed in a site that backed up to the pool parking area. There were no people in the next site up, so that was quiet. In the (approximately) five or so next sites up, there were several large families with younger kids. Though the rules said golf carts were to be operated by licensed drivers, the kids driving them up & down the main road were clearly not 16+, These carts were not lit, & the kids came far too close to us many times as we walked our dogs to the dog area. This happened three nights in a row, then stopped--& the kids switched to an electric scooter. Though the posted speed limit is 8 & signs flash your speed & warn drivers of speeds higher than the limit, the children going 14 mph on the scooter (in the dark) were undeterred. This was not safe. The dog area was not clean. Apparently quite a few people felt no need to clean up after their dogs, & we quickly learned to watch our steps. There were bags provided & the boxes were always filled, but the area reeked. Also, between our site & the dog area, there were some areas that need lighting at night. The street was quite dark in spots, which made it worse with the unlit golf carts. Walking here felt unsafe. My husband saw a security car once at night, after a sheriff's car was at a site across the lane from us one morning. But other than that one time, we saw no nighttime security. We also would have liked access to the water from both piers shown on the site map. Though there was canal access, & the pier there was long, we had thought we'd be able to swim in the ocean on the other side. But there was no access available there & swimming in the canal wasn't appealing. If the rules were upheld & if some sort of staff made their presence known in the evenings, it would make the stay more pleasant--as would ocean access. read more

The layout of the resort is of course just fabulous. Each individual site is privately owned. Walk around the resort and peek into the sites and you will be amazed at how most of them have been upgraded to OMG wonderful. I have to give my review based on the site we were given (compared to others) and how we were treated. Compared to most of the other sites with kitchens, tv's and nice furniture in the hut, site 51 is a ghetto site. We had to back in and the site is obviously set up for to pull straight in. It has hookups on both sides. We had to park on the beautiful brickwork patio and walk in coarse gravel. It has some minimum required old rusty Walmart yard furniture under the hut. Nothing else. Cabinets are locked closed. There is nothing else. Beware:This place has very restrictive rules. examples: no propane fire pits, no washing your rig or truck (but they let you hire their cleaners). We didn't feel respect at all as we were sunbathing (on our own lounge chairs) and workers just walked right into our private area and started blowing and cutting down old branches from the trees. Not a word to us. The lack of respect for our privacy was shocking and unnerving. I'm giving the extra star because of Debbie. She went out of her way to make our trip wonderful, gave us lots of advice on the area, and was just a constant ray of sunshine. WARNING!!! NO-SEEUMS!!! This area has them! My wife was bitten at least 60 times on a warm evening with no wind. On windy days, they were not a problem. Bring your DEET! Bottom line: Nice resort! Site 51 is a no-go. Bring your DEET read more

Very beautiful sites however; the pool is way too small for an RV park that size and no circulation so it felt like a hot tub not a pool. Also most people who RV have dogs and a fenced in area would be nice so they could go off leash to run. read more

We have been renting a spot here for the last 7 years. The first four years were wonderful, leading us to become regular yearly customers. Unfortunately, after the first 4 wonderful years, the management has consistently been declining the following 3. Due to the lack of customer service and recent happenings we will be staying elsewhere moving forward. Not only are they less than willing to accommodate their customers, they have terrible attitudes and almost every recent interaction has been negative (and judging by other people's stories, we aren't the only ones). We rented two slots for one night and were told the check out time was 11AM, which to us means we have the slots until 11AM... Half of our group left early the next morning, but we still had vehicles and a boat in the slot under the impression we had until 11 to rearrange our items. Management came knocking on our door telling us to move the vehicle and boat at 10AM and during this pleasant interaction, the gentlemen stated we needed to move everything RIGHT THEN and that "it's pretty obvious that your stuff can't stay here" and ended it with, "I'm not trying to be a d**k." My hope from this review is that management will try to be a little bit more accommodating. read more

Well we are due to check in on Oct 25th and confirmed we would be here however we were delayed in getting here due to an issue with our RV in Florida City which is 122 miles away from here. They told us today that we only had until 5pm to be here and I spoke with them at 4:40pm. I was told I could park in the lot outside the gate for the night and could not delay checkin as brand new rule today that cannot checkin after five but was at 7pm. We tried to get here as quick as we could and we're laughed at by the emergency attendant for arriving too late. We had a generator issue in Florida City trying to get it fixed before making our way down for checkin today. Our generator was not able to be completed and therefore stayed the night at the gate with no AC or power to get our RV cooled down. It is 82 degrees out and at least 95 inside the RV and we have a small dog that we are trying to keep cool. We get to enter between 8:30am and 9:00am in the morning but I have to say that I do not know how I will enjoy myself knowing that the owners of this resort have a policy to not help a late arrival when clearly this wasn't addressed in the multiple confirmations and conversations I have had with the staff until this afternoon. Had I known I would not have bothered trying to fix the generator issue and would have made sure I was here. They will not help you even if you are desperate. They do not care. I very much hope that when we check in they will be very apologetic but I am doubting it very much. We have looked so forward to staying here since December when we found this resort and now I feel as though I am literally stranded and have already paid the resort for 4 nights. Over $200 a night and find out today that I can't checkin after 5 even with any type of emergency situation. Don't ask them for any help as they will not give it to you outside of their normal posted business hours of 9-5. We have been traveling for 4 months and have never had an RV Resort or campground not check you in. Apparently things are different here at Bluewater as I have found out the hard way. read more

Recently my wife and I were perusing camp grounds and RV resorts in southern Florida, specifically in the Keys, to make our maiden voyage the family's brand new 2021 Grand Design XLS 17MKE which is 22 feet long with a full shower and bathroom. We came across Bluewater Key RV Resort and were thrilled to have found the perfect place to spend a week with our daughters and our dog enjoying the picturesque beauty and tranquility of the Florida Keys. While looking over the resort rules and amenities and some customer reviews, we noticed there were apparently some seemingly discriminatory rules regarding the types of RVs and campers that would be allowed the privilege of spending their hard earned American currency to spend time at this resort. Specifically, no travel trailers under 24 feet in length, regardless of appearance or age, are allowed to book reservations in this resort. A potential customer who had experienced similar issues left a review describing an instance where he was told that he and his children "might be better off" trying the RV campground down the road. When I called to inquire about the absurd policy and the rationale behind it, I was told that "the HOA only wanted to accommodate full size motor homes, but compromised by allowing travel trailers and campers over 24 feet in length." When I asked about why this was the case, I was told "the homeowners want to make sure the renters have campers that are appropriately equipped with showers and lavatories so they won't use the resort/park facilities. I might understand this rationale more if only a few of the owners in the park rented out their spaces seasonally and the majority of the residents were semi-permanent. However, looking at availability through October and November, literally 90% of the 81 sites are available to rent on a weekly basis. Therefore, the 9 sites that appear to be permanent residents do not want the other 72 sites worth of paying customers to use the available shower and lavatory services. Ultimately, it appears as though the owners/management of this resort would prefer to only accommodate customers who can afford to travel in $100K or more campers and the thousands of dollars I was prepared to spend there aren't good enough. I'll be posting this same review on every travel website I can find to make sure people know what kind of place they are looking at before they get too excited about vacationing there. The place probably smells like Old Spice, BenGay, moth balls, and entitlement anyway. read more
