This month, we hired BND Pool Plastering to complete a much needed renovation of our existing pool. Besides BND, we got 2 other estimates. All were competitive and each used a different pebble-type finish. We made the decision to move forward with BND because of our outstanding experience working with Michael, our estimator, and because BND is the only company in the valley trained and approved to install Wet Edge Technologies plaster products. We fell in love with their Prism Matrix Indigo Blue product (a multi-color pebble finish with glass beads, shell and tumbled tiny rocks). Their pricing was in line with the other estimates and fell in the middle to upper part of all estimate costs, but offered a longer warranty at 5 years and a longer estimated lifespan than some of the other finishes (estimated around 20 years with proper weekly care and maintenance). Overall, we are so happy with our decision! It was a GREAT experience working with all of the BND team and the finished results look fantastic!! (See photos.) Michael was just the best to work with! We were referred to BND by Jaron at California Pools. He provided me with contact info for Jay, BND's owner. He had Michael reach out to me right away to set-up our first estimate appt. Michael was my main point person during our whole project. He was so patient with us and let us put every color sample chip in our pool underwater next to our new tile selection before we finalized the contract to ensure we loved our selection. (It is so important to see them submerged as the colors can be very different under water than when they are dry.) In addition to draining our pool, chipping out the old plaster and replastering our pool, we also had the BND team remove our old calcified glass waterline tile and part of our back wall pool tile. The hard water in Las Vegas made both of the old tile selections almost impossible to keep clean. BND installed our selected Pearl Matte 12" x 24" pool tiles purchased from Aquabella (6" x 24" around the waterline to minimize grout lines). They handled the ordering and materials pick-up with Aquabella. (Our grout selection was TSP Sterling.) The whole renovation process was so well organized by both Michael and Dani at their office. And their crews were awesome!! They worked clean covering all of our outdoor furniture with heavy plastic along with our driveway, underneath their slurry box in the street as well as any of our walkways they would be using for their tools and to transport materials. Marco even put down plastic under the hose on our artificial turf when draining the pool. The whole chip-out process was completed in one day (Friday) with 12 crew members. The 2-person tile team came the following Monday to both remove the old tile and install the new tile. Both crews were so careful around our pool decking and our stacked stone on the back pool wall that was staying. All the guys worked very clean which I truly appreciated! Michael would come each day to inspect the finished work and give the okay for the next phase of work to continue. Dani at their office would confirm the following day's work schedules with me each afternoon. We had our pool lights replaced by Nationwide Pool LLC on Wednesday which we planned with our scheduling. Replastering was completed on Thursday. On Friday, a small team returned to complete the light acid wash. In a 9-day span, all of the work was completed! Marco returned the end of the following week to re-install our pool cleaning pop-up heads. Michael and BND also provided detailed instructions on the first 30 days of pool care after our pool was re-filled with water. The timing was perfect for us to use Nationwide Pool for our 5-day new pool refinishing kick-off. They appreciated the detailed instructions to insure proper care. Michael also fielded some extra questions from me the following week that came up during our 5-day kick-off service. Overall, Michael and the whole BND crew and staff were wonderful to work with. Well I usually don't provide reviews often but this experience with Bob was exceptional. I've been in construction for +30 years. There are a few things that most of the new generation lack as far as customer experience. 1- Be on time! 2-Be knowledgeable with the all the different products offered along with experience and real hands on knowledge. 3- No pressure sales tactics Well, Bob with BND hit every mark over and above. If you are interested in speaking to a company regarding your pool remodel, Bob is your guy! Review of BND Pools - Replastering Experience I've sat with this for quite some time, unsure whether to speak out. But after much thought, I feel I need to share my experience, as I believe I was taken advantage of--and that's not right. A couple of years ago, I had my pool replastered by BND Pools. A replastering job should last at least ten years, and I expected quality work, especially given the cost. Unfortunately, within 24 months, the bottom of the pool began to show unsightly staining, almost like an infection. It was incredibly disappointing. When I contacted BND, a representative came out and told me the issue was due to copper from a heater I have never even used. Then he blamed my pool technician--who, by the way, has been maintaining my pool for 28 years without a single issue. In fact, our first pool, installed by Desert Springs Pools, lasted over 25 years without a problem. The BND rep said the owner would come take a look and collect a sample. We scheduled a time for 9:00 AM on Friday the 15th. A few days later, his secretary called to change it to 12:00 PM. I rearranged my schedule and agreed. Then, on the morning of the 15th, my phone rang at 9:00 AM--he was at the gate. I told him I was at work as we had agreed on noon. He said he couldn't come later after all, and asked if we could do it another day. I already had plans, so I stopped work and told him to come in. When he arrived, I asked if he was the owner. His response was, "I hate it when people ask me that," and then something along the lines of, "God is the owner of everything, I'm just the caretaker." Honestly, that set the tone. He went on to say the problem was caused by "aggressive water." I asked why, if that were true, I had never had a single issue with the same pool guy for 25 years--only now, after the replastering job by BND. He responded by asking if my neighbors' pools had the same problem. I said I didn't know, and he replied, "Exactly. I don't know either." I was stunned. What kind of answer is that? He then held up a book and said, "I've had this since 1994." He pointed to it and insisted it proved my water was aggressive. I reminded him that a sample had already been taken the previous week, during which his rep blamed the copper and my pool man. I asked if he intended to take any responsibility, considering I had paid a large sum for the replastering. His answer was no. At that point, I asked him to leave. To make matters worse, I now have to pay out of pocket to have the pool acid-washed and refilled with new water--an expense I absolutely did not anticipate so soon after investing in a full replaster. And let's not forget: I gave BND not one, but two pool jobs--my pool and my parents' pool. I had trusted them with my business and my home. I just find it hard to believe they wouldn't take any ownership of this. It's disheartening. I hope my experience helps others make a more informed decision. As summer is about to come around, I look at my pool that was suppose to look brand new, and it just looks terrible thanks to BND. read more

We had our pool replastered by BND Pools five years ago, and from the start, we noticed white etching and spotting. Over the years the issues have gotten significantly worse. They advised that our water was too "Active" and that was the cause of the white stains. My husband, who is pool certified, tests our pool water every week and Leslie's Pool checks it twice a year. We felt that their explanation was just an excuse to avoid taking responsibility for the poor work. Now, exactly five years later, we drained the pool to change the water out and can clearly see the extent of the damage. According to information we found online, white spots in a replastered pool are typically caused by improper plastering techniques. This may include adding too much calcium chloride to the plaster mix, applying too much water during troweling, late hard troweling, or using a wet trowel. These issues can lead to porosity in the plaster, allowing calcium salts to leach out and create visible white spots, also known as "spot etching." YouTube said many companies tell their customers it's due to active water as there is no way to prove and it's an easy out for them. So that Warranty they promise isn't worth anything!! Unfortunately, we now have to pay out of pocket to have the pool redone. It's incredibly disappointing that a company with such a long history in Las Vegas would treat its customers this way. They should take responsibility for their mistakes instead of passing the blame. read more

Poor Warranty Support & No Accountability We hired BND Pool Plastering in [2021] to resurface our pool -- and they originally told us the work was backed by a 5-year warranty. Within just 3 years, cracks appeared throughout the plaster. Despite calling regularly and leaving messages for months, we've never received a single call back. The receptionist is always kind and says they'll follow up, but nothing ever happens. They once claimed they'd come out to test the water chemistry -- no one ever showed, and no one followed up. Most frustrating of all: they're now blaming the cracks on an old, unused roof-mounted solar water heater -- something that was disclosed from the beginning and hasn't been active in years. We've carefully maintained and documented our pool chemistry the entire time. I don't leave bad reviews lightly, but this company refuses to honor their warranty or even communicate. At this point, I'm forced to look into other options just to fix what they did wrong. Very disappointing experience. read more

Just recently two big rebar spots came through the plaster I had a license companies come out and they told me that 9 years ago they were using cheap Chinese plaster and they did it way too thin they didn't cover the rebar and bnd says I I have no guarantee for rebar, well that's what they should guarantee . they don't stand behind their product read more

You CANNOT go wrong with BND Pool Plastering. I mean it. For real. My pool was looking really rough and after a major life event, I decided that I was going to renovate it. Everyone at BND made sure that I got exactly what I wanted in the pool while letting me know of any foreseeable potential issues. For instance, I wanted the pool water to be the deepest darkest blue I could get. Michael showed me all of the options and then gave me his recommendation knowing the water quality in Las Vegas. BND replastered our pool in Nov 2022. One year later we had a iron bleed through spot they agreed to repair even though they made it very clear it was a defect not covered by warranty. Now one year later I have another iron bleed through spot. (2 in 2 years). I am willing to pay for this repair (I am more comfortable with the company that did the replaster doing the repair) but they will not do the repair. Their exact response was "they are too busy doing bigger jobs to do such a small job." I find it very disappointing they were very accommodating when I was paying them thousands of dollars but when it is a small repair "they dont have time." In addition, we have had multiple spots and discoloring of the plaster. It simply has not stood up. I would not recommend BND plastering, they were decent when thousands of dollars are part of the plan but quickly turn their back when the profit isn't there in a small repair. read more

BND was selected by my pool contractor to complete the plastering of my pool. The work was completed in June 2021 and the company has failed to communicate with my mine and my contractor's attempts to remedy the issues. Overall, the plaster job performed appears to be very poor given that the coloring is discolored/mottled throughout the pool and there are abundant craze cracks throughout the wetdeck area. I will let the images speak for themselves of the quality of work you can expect if you utilize this company. I resurfaced my pool in 2019 and now I have spots all over my pool. I called BND last year to have them fix my pool and their mistakes they made plastering my pool, instead they told me that my water was acidic. I told the owner that was ridiculous, I tested the water my self and then double checked it at Leslie's the water wasn't acidic at all. Then he tells me to watch a you tube that said water acidity maybe the cause for spots but in the same clip it says that contractors also need to take responsibility for using lousy materials. This is there way of avoiding their responsibility to fix my pool. I purchased the five year warranty, and paid for the stronger quartz plastering and they refuse to honor my contract...More to come. I'm also following up today with the contractor's board to be sure that they investigate the workmanship. We are completely satisfied with the pool re-plastering performed by BND Pool Plastering. From the initial visit by Jon to provide a quote to the completion of the project the entire team was helpful and knowledgeable. Jon provided samples of material choices and target tile colors. This was helpful in making decisions. Kim provided a copy of the detailed schedule for each phase of the project and followed up one day prior to the start of each activity. The chip out crew of five arrived on schedule and completed the process in four hours. After completion they removed all of debris and cleaned up the entire area. The plastering crew of five prepped the area by covering the deck and landscaping with plastic to prevent damage. The crew provided suggestions as to the placement of the target tiles and we liked their suggestions better than our initial thoughts. Plastering was completed in five hours and the crew did a thorough cleanup. After several days the final process was the re-installation of the in floor cleaning heads. Throughout the project Jon followed up on each phase of the project and performed the final quality check to ensure our satisfaction. BND just finished replastering our 1994 pool which hadn't been updated since new. To say it's improved is a massive understatement! We could not be any happier with our pool completed by this company! Micheal came in and gave us a solid quote and followed our project from start to finish. No hidden charges, everything explained clearly. We have a huge 30 plus feet long and 10 feet deep pool built in 1963 - so there were some challenges. However the BND team was excellent. They re-plastered the pool, upgraded the drain, replaced the whole clean out basket and added a wet deck with steps and a bench without breaking the budget. Tom their electrician went above and beyond with the electrical issue we had with our ancient pool light and found a solution when three other electricians couldn't. This saved us having to rip up our deck to fix it which was amazing. Not only that, but Tom also took pity on me one morning and helped me clean up half a dead bird that a hawk had left in my yard. This was certainly NOT his job at all, but he was beyond kind helping me! It was so appreciated. :) There are many companies to choose from in Las Vegas and we have worked with many contractors over the years renovating 3 houses, however we can honestly say the whole team at BND have been nothing but a pleasure to work with. They are responsive, professional, and did great work. Me, my husband, and our children are really excited to enjoy our beautiful pool this summer and for many more to come! BND came out today fixed the messed up grout.. we did have a hiccup but Thomas came out... fixed it and with any luck everything will end well No it's not the color I was promised Yes it's very mottled Yes they had to redo the top grout No I would not use them again That being said Thomas's integrity (NOT MICHAEL) is to be admired HE DOES CARE And for that I thank him Maybe he can tidy up his staff because if he did and they all had his work ethic it would be one fine company read more

Contracted BND to refurbish our 15year-old pool in December 2019. Where quart plaster came with a 7 year warranty. In less than two years, the numerous white spots and a rust spot appeared in the plaster. It took them a month to send anyone out to look at the pool and they immediately blamed water quality and said the damage wasn't covered by the warranty. Employee took a water sample but came back several days later because the sample was "lost". Never heard back from the company after that. Calls to their office are not returned. Our 15 year-old pool looked far superior to this 2 year-old disaster. read more

BND Plastering came recommended for their service and standing by their work. They came out, surveyed the job (removing pebble from spa and resurfacing it) and offered finish choices. The color was called Azure - it's supposed to be plaster with a speckled quartz finish. The job was done in a timely fashion. I was told to brush the plaster daily for a couple weeks, which I did, and that the speckles will become evident with the brushing. Fast forward - the speckles did not become more evident and the finish does not look good at all. When I look at it, I want to just paint over it. I've called multiple times over the past several months to both the main office and the "field/sales guy" Michael. Michael has come out to inspect my concern and agreed that that it doesn't look like the option I chose and paid for (the quartz speckles price was about $800 more than plain plaster for my job.) He took pictures and said he'd need discuss it with his manager because he didn't know what options we had. It has been 7 weeeks since I initiated my concern. The gal who answers the phone can only take my name and number and can't tell me who will call me back or even who she's giving the message to. Michael says he can only remind his manager and there's not anything else he can do. Took SIX months to resurface a SPA. They made every excuse to delay working on it and finishing it, even after $5000 was paid toward the $6500 cost. At the end told me I owed an additional 3% for using a credit card, and sent a letter stating they would threaten to put a lien on my property! Worse service ever!!! read more

BND originally plastered our pool when it was built in 2002. We had them re-plaster the pool the first week of November 2019. Again, the plaster looks great! This time even better! The customer service, workmanship, and communication was superb! Everyday we were informed of the next step.
