It is a relatively new park (about 5 years old) and has a somewhat non-traditional playground. The playground at Johnston-McVay is actually divided into two sections: * the upper section (closest to the parking lot) features the HAWK, a large wooden climing structure and some "roller slides". This area offers a lot of opportuity for climbing and creative play. * the lower section (closer to the road) has both traditional swings as well as a very unique swing that aloows up to 5 or 6 kids to swing togehter at the same time. My granddaughter and four or five newly found friends were swinging and singing a pirate ditty - pretending that the swing was a pirate ship. One of the nicest features of the park is that there are plenty of benches (some traditional - some large blocks of stone) for parents and grandparents to sit. The park also offers a nice mix of sunny and shady areas.

Modern Nature inspired playground equipment: swings, climbing structures, and most recognizable - Hawk/Nest. The trail around the park has placards that mark a "story path" sponsored by Westerville Library. From the looks of it, it will be a rotating story every few months. Natural play area includes creek access and some large stones for crossing the creek. Park does have a restroom. Great fun for a variety of ages of children. Be sure to stop by!

This is a beautiful park that has a very large grassy area, a shelter house with a few picnic tables and bathrooms. There are a few tennis courts, a nice section with old large trees that provide wonderful shade in the summer months. There is a nice play ground with slides, swings for the little ones and a few larger sets that the older ones can climb all over. The city keeps this park looking very nice. We love coming here and spending a few hours here every week.

Which is perfect, as when the train goes by, we run up as close as we can to watch it go by. It has a baseball diamond and a nice soccer field - so plenty of space to run around, and a nice wooded area that you can hide in for shade. The swings are also the "toddler/infant" swings, which my eldest is getting a little big for, but he can climb on top of every piece of equipment there as it is.

It features several little waterfall areas that help mitigate the noise of the nearby highway. There is a pond and a couple of small shelters where you can sit and relax. It also features a really neat wind sculpture, the North Star, that can be seen when you are passing by on the highway. It spins gently in the wind and adds a nice focal point just behind the large waterfall. It was designed by Robert S. Mullins. There's a paved walking path around the park that provides a good view of the highway, for those interested. Quiet and relaxing.

Steering wheels so you can pretend to drive a firetruck, police car, school bus, etc. Baby K loved it, and ran all over between the toddler playground, the house, and the bigger play structure. We'll be back. Access to the playground is from the park lots, or park in the neighborhood, at the corner of Eastview and Northigh. Yes, Northigh, not North High, so don't get lost...

As you head over towards the park, you find several tennis courts, a basketball court, and a playground. The playground includes baby and traditional swings, a musical instrument area, and a very impressive structure with multiple slides and climbing pieces, a fun sound-making steering wheel, and a scavenger hunt. Just past these is a small green space and a gate beyond that. If you head through the gate, you can follow a winding paved path down into a natural area in a forest, with access to the Scioto River. If you follow the trail further down, you can see the remains of a former quarry before looping back around. We quite enjoyed our visit and exploring everything this park has to offer!

This time around, we accidentally came across this place. We were driving home from visiting another place and saw the holiday lights from the street and went to see which place had these beautiful lights. And lo and behold its Everal Barn. They did a fantastic job decorating the barn and the area around it with the lights. You can park the car, walk around and take pictures. It's definitely worth a visit.

They have a list of vendors to choose from, half of which can serve alcohol. This used to be a dry venue. We were happy to hear that it wasn't dry anymore. Kim was so easy to work with and we had everything we needed!! We received compliments throughout the evening about what a great space it was and some people didn't even know it existed!
