We're absolutely delighted to overnight in quiet Pod 5 site 1 which is a back in site with full hookup. Larry Thompson was a humor columnist for the Miami Herald for more than two decades until his death February 18, 1973. He is in the Florida Newspaper Hall of Fame. His wife Gladys "Penny" Thompson (née Rhodes), who died September 22, 1975, was a pioneer in women's aviation during the 1940s-1950s. She is in the Florida Aviation Hall of Fame and the Florida Women's Hall of Fame. She was the Florida chapter president of the Ninety-Nines, the women's pilot organization founded by Amelia Earhart. While in the Civil Air Patrol, she flew over the Gulf of Mexico searching for German submarines during World War II. Her plane was one of several hundred destroyed in a 1945 blimp hangar fire at the Naval Air Station Richmond, part of which was rebuilt as the park.

It had a large ticket but with a large fridge, fireplace, 70" tv, microwave, sound system, lots of seating, dock, outdoor shower, fish cleaning station and bar. Lots of cabinets to store thins in too. It was fenced in for our dogs too. They have kayak rentals and a pool. A game room and bar and shower and laundry are near the pool. Service was great!

The grounds are always immaculate. Even after a recent hurricane, the management team responded immediately. They were out clearing palm debris within hours and had the landscaping crew on-site without delay. In no time, the park looked pristine again--aside from a few puddles, you'd never have known a storm had passed through. The amenities are just as impressive. The swimming pool is always spotless, perfectly heated in the winter, and refreshingly cool during the summer. The RV sites are level, well-landscaped, and surrounded by palm trees that give the whole park a true tropical feel. During the winter season, the community really comes alive with events at the clubhouse--live music, social gatherings, and a genuine sense of camaraderie. The guests who stay here are wonderful people from all over, just looking to enjoy life in this beautiful city. Location-wise, it doesn't get more convenient. The park sits right off Tamiami Trail East, directly across from a brand-new Denny's, an excellent authentic Mexican restaurant, and a Publix (with a liquor store). Also within walking distance are several other eateries--Chinese, Japanese, Greek, and a cozy little Mediterranean spot. There's emergency dental care nearby, a veterinary clinic, auto parts stores, and repair shops just up the road. When you head further into Naples, you'll find every type of food imaginable--fresh seafood, Italian, Brazilian, Cuban--you name it. Around 5th Avenue, you can walk from restaurant to restaurant enjoying some of the finest dining in Southwest Florida. We are not campers, this was our first RV experience and Everyone, from management to neighbor were so helpful and cheerful and made us feel so welcome! ( and not stupid!) The place is CLEAN: the landscaping is kept up with planted flowers, the clubhouse is meticulously maintained along with the laundry facilities . They have a nice kitchen in the clubhouse that is used for parties and game nights. The pool is heated and has PLENTY of loungers and tables with umbrellas and a shade area. The Cove provides a yoga class, a water exercise class 2 x a week, and a time for gathering 2 mornings a week for a coffee and bagel time. There were dances and dinners for the holidays with amazing bands. Many of the RVers would arrange different outings to restaurants, boat trips, mini golf and beach days and we always felt welcome if we attended and no hard feelings if we didn't. There were game nights for the ladies and bags( corn hole) and poker nights for the guys. We had singles in all our events that never felt left out. And what a great location- many RVers had electric bikes and would take them all the way down town- beating the traffic many days! Lots of shopping within walking distance, so many restaurants. We found a wonderful church, Christ is King, 8 min away! Wanda and Lawrence are dedicated to the Park and the People! It is definitely an old campground, but it is well maintained and loved by those who run it. We had a great time on the private beach and the best kayak through the mangroves. I appreciated the bubbler for keeping dangerous wildlife off the beach area. It's nice and quiet in the evenings and a safe place for kids to explore and have fun. The heated pool is sparkling clean and warm. We had a beautiful weeklong visit over spring break and can't wait to come back again!

Everyone in the pool felt the pool was way too hot. The front office refused to do anything about it. They could have contacted management for us as well. Management never replied. The beach is very dirty. The playground is equipped for under 3years of age. I definitely would go elsewhere.

I understand places like this have bad turn over but if we're still paying for services, you owe it to the guests to TRY to give them a good experience. We're not cattle; we're customers. Even if we come on a truck bed. No hot water in the front bathrooms. Nightmare shower experience once when they were cleaning. Pool is shut down. Mini golf and playground is dilapidated. We can't use the fire pit. No yard game equipment. Clubhouse is condemned. I ask- is there any fun camping activity we CAN do here? They were truly rude and difficult to work with. Go somewhere else, I wish I did!

We booked this hotel for its close proximity to the Everglades and Biscayne National Park. It was…read moreeasy to get to the park visitor centers and the location was a good home base for exploring the parks. We also like how spacious the rooms are at Home2 Suites and that they include a kitchen. Free use of the laundry room and free breakfast were also convenient. The room was comfortable and spacious, but looked a little worn down. Everything was functional and fine for a two night stay. The reason I give this hotel a lower rating is because there was an unresolved issue with the room. On the day we arrived we were downgraded from the room type that we booked two months in advance without any notice or explanation. The staff at the front desk kindly apologized, but couldn't explain why it happened and said they weren't empowered to do anything about it. We were told that the manager was the only one who could do anything and she would contact us. She never did, not during our stay or after our stay. It felt unfair to not get what we reserved and then be charged the same price for the downgraded room type. Hilton customer service helped to compensate for the inconvenience when I called them a week after our stay after never hearing from the hotel manager. I've never had an issue at a Hilton hotel before that wasn't resolved right away or at least during my stay, so I know this isn't typical for a Hilton property. We will stay at a different hotel the next time we are in the area.

I need a job (close to home) to pay bills. Last week, on Tuesday, I applied to our local new Home2Suites/Tru (Florida City) by HILTON on Indeed, for their open night shift desk position. Then, on a Wednesday, I proactively visited in person and spoke to the night manager (who was working the desk due to employee shortage). I introduced myself, provided a full resume, and was told by the sales manager that they could by not see me, but would call me. A week later, still nothing. I called and spoke to the night manager I had previously met, and was told that the sales manager had decided against my application almost immediately. Obviously, I am very disappointed in HILTON. I am proven dependable, responsible, and am exceptionally qualified. So, could it be: ... my AGE?, ... veteran status ?, ... I live too close ?; or, ... HILTON'S $15. ph salary ? - YOU can decide (almost immediately)... if the HILTON brand deserves your patronage !
