Today's experience was the final straw. When I saw how little alcohol was poured into the super cheap Walmart opaque plastic cup of my friends drink, I commented on it to the 18 year old bartender. And she called the owner/ manager over. The owner proceeded to pour the alcohol In His drink out into a tiny one ounce plastic "shot glass" and then flowed the small remainder onto the bar (which she left for me to clean up). She was talking down to us the entire time and saying that she isn't in the business to give away free drinks. Absolutely absurd! A better approach might have been to pretend the customer matters and not try to humiliate them in front of friends and employees! No wonder the place was almost empty at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night of the biggest boating weekend of the year! Won't be back and will make sure everyone I know hear a this story.

Firstly,…read moreI would like to say that when we arrived at the Lacross Marina, where the Mississippi River Rentals houses their boats, we were kind of saddened by the state the entire marina was in. The washrooms are so scary I thought I was going to get murdered in them, and the staff at this marina are all but helpful. A group of my friends wanted to rent a houseboat for the beginning of the summer season of 2013, and we used the Houseboat Reservation website of Hucks Houseboats Rentals http://www.hucks.com/index.php. When we originally booked the reservation, the Hucks website did not say that it was no longer affiliated with Mississippi River Rentals. The changeover happened within days. FINE. But we should have at least received a boat or at least our money back. Neither of these options happened!!!! At first, a lady named Christine who was managing the building at the time of arrival was not giving us much information. She said the boat that we had rented was having engine trouble and needed the night to be repaired. When we came back the next day, the boat was still in disrepair, and they said that they could still get us a boat anyway. They drove us down to a shipyard where a houseboat was dry-docked and did not even have an engine in it. There was no way this boat could be water ready in 24 hours! There was a dead bird that had disintegrated in the hottub, dishes in the sink, and trashy looking beds. Hucks Houseboat Rentals could not give us the deposit back because of they had already liquidated it and the company seems to be bankrupt. I would call this a scam, but I really think it was a deal gone horribly wrong. I would never do business with either of these companies and I recommend to always have a contract and pay by credit card so that the credit card company can stand by you. I would be so happy to see my money again, but I hope these companies drown on their own boats.

We tried contacting the business multiple times, calling and leaving voicemails to no avail. We reached out to them via Facebook and sent a message, they responded "No" nothing else. You'd think the most essential objective of a business is profit, but not there. They must not care for customer satisfaction or profit. I wouldn't suggest doing business there. Take your money else where, somewhere that values customer service and satisfaction.
