I ordered a buttered lobster roll. The fries were served cold and my lobster roll was mushy, it tasted as if it was frozen and then microwaved. The pieces of lobster were served on top of a bed of lettuce and then on the roll itself making it all soggy and gross. The meat wasn't that good and I got sick when I got home. I love the atmosphere here and back when they opened we loved it. They used to have these salmon croquettes that were amazing. However the last two times I've been here the food has not been good at all. Eggplant last time was so burnt and crunchy it was inedible. The last time I went I got a scallop special that sounded amazing but there was so much lemon on them they tasted completely sour and I couldn't even eat them. What I didn't like that the waitress hovered over us till we finally order, only one menu for us to share, and a ladder outside the restrooms how do they expect us to get into the restrooms?? The place was Not busy and it showed the staff were all doing stuff they should have done in the restroom. Touching their hair, and braiding their hair at the bar area made me wonder what the heck were they doing in the kitchen. Listen to the words coming out of my Yelp mouth: the $50 Dinner for Two deal is now available Sunday through Wednesday, for curbside take-out, and it includes the bottle of wine. Two entrees, one starter and a bottle of house vin (we usually get the Kato savvy B) for $50. What a steal! I strongly suggest the shrimp scampi primavera, the chicken parmigiana or one of their pizzas - all are really decent quality and excellent values. The calamari is excellent when eaten fresh, and it does suffer a bit during longer rides post-takeout. We wanted lunch and liked the menu. The service was friendly and prompt. My panini with side salad was great and my husband's pizza was excellent and huge. We wanted to take leftovers but had an appointment nearby and didn't want to leave the food in the warm car. They didn't hesitate to keep the box safely tucked away for a few hours. I went here for dinner a few weeks ago and ordered the eggplant rollatini as an appetizer and a mushroom truffle pizza as an entree. The eggplant rollatini came with breaded eggplant in a marinara sauce. It was good although the eggplant was a little burnt. I was a bit disappointed with the pizza. I felt that the dough was not evenly spread out through the pizza. There were parts of the pizza where it was cracker crust thin and some parts where it had some doughy texture to it. We've been here a few times in the past for hosted birthday parties and only had the pizza, which is an amazing thin crust neapolitan type! We choose the Boathouse Bistro after a long walk yesterday at World's End. A gorgeous hike. First, the Bistro is covid/safety compliant. Sucks to have start a review like that but, hey. They have outdoor seating, weather permitting. We sat inside. Too windy. The vibe is casual but nice and bright with lots of windows. Tables are limited right now. Our server, Teresa, was very friendly as was her Mom, Tinka. She owns it with her husband Steve McCauley. Great people. Four of us dined. I had the short ribs with mashed. My wife had the mussels in white wine and a bowl of chicken soup. My friend had the spicy sausage and his wife had the Mussels in white wine with a side of linguine. We all started with the Calamari. Bevs were red wines, sangria and Jameson (that's me :) Everything was perfect and could not have been better or fresher. The calamari were lightly fried and extremely tender. If calamari are chewy, they are not fresh (and might not even be calamari. Look up fake calamari! Better yet, don't). The calamari were cooked with banana pepper and served with a smokey cream sauce. I wanted a bowl of it and a spoon! I do lots of braising (my Osso Bucco is to die for), and these short ribs were perfectly, fall apart tender. The mashed were creamy, buttery and delicious in a light gravy. The mussels were also fresh and tender and the chicken soup resembled a hearty tortilla soup without the tortilla chips. Delicious. Food and 2 rounds of drinks was about $200 with a generous tip. I was told they also have take dinner packages. I wish I lived closer. Try the Boathouse Bistro! You'll be happy you did. read more

COVID has impacted many businesses but apparently this one hasn't changed. The hostess was her first night and she had no mentorship from none of the waiters or managers, she cried multiple times as people were just seating themselves whilst the people with reservations waited 45+ mins past their time. Then when I did get a hold of the manager, she brushed it off like there was nothing wrong. Now the food: - Chef's "Calzone" Bites (2): we had Meatballs & Peppers. One was fully loaded and the other nothing in it... then the meatballs were horribly unseasoned - Mussels: Do not get the Garlic White Wine, it was all garlic, white wine was not reduced and mussels were dead... I opened as many as possible and none were viable so we then asked for wings thinking "they can't possibly make this bad?" - BBQ wings: a chicken would be sad to call it wings. It was the worst cuts of drumsticks and flats, waayyy too dry and the sauce didn't even stick to the wings. Best part! She wouldn't comp us for the 1hr additional wait to the reservation I made. We visited Boathouse Bistro for the first time to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We were there on Memorial Day so we weren't sure what to expect. Although service was slow and not overly attentive the food was good. We enjoyed a variety of menu items including pizza, salads, chicken parm, and seafood fra diavolo (although I think it was called something else on the menu). We were all happy with our meals. But now it is a tad better than ordering Dominos in college. it is slightly better if you eat It there before it turns to cardboard when you get home. But it's always inconsistent. I had lunch here today. No professional waitstaff working the lunch shift. The turkey sandwich I ordered was by far the worse sandwich I have ever ordered. It was very dry, so I brought it home to try and make it edible. No such luck. My dogs enjoyed it though. I have been in the food industry for 57 years. The turkey used to make the sandwich was was very dry. It must be a week or more old. Dry scraps, the best way to describe it. I don't recommend this place at all. read more

We selected the Boathouse last night after a return trip from Italy. The plan was to keep the Italian food buzz going from our trip, while we acclimated ourselves back to a routine. Boy that was a mistake. Firstly, the offering were meager from the menu suggesting that the restaurant had selected a few dishes to prepare really well. The reality was that the few standard Italian dishes that appeared on the menu were actually very average. I selected Bolognese thinking it was a sure bet. What a disappointment. The rigatoni was undercooked, the meat was a melange of chopped beef (I think), while the whole affair sat in a indistinguishable tomato sauce that tasted like it was out of a can of Campbell Soup. While I could go on and describe my dinner partner's pasta primavara offering, let's say it was marginally better than the Bolognese. The wait staff spent more time chatting with each other rather than serving the diners and the lapse in time to get the check was insufferable. So... Final analysis, I would suggest you consider frequenting some of the other restaurants at the Shipyard and pass this one by. Incidentally, the bill was a tad over the top for a restaurant of this genre. read more

Subpar on so many levels. Came here with my family on a rainy Saturday night. The hostess, who looked like it was her first day on the job, said it would be 15 minutes. My biggest pet peeve eating out is weak, poorly made cocktails that you're charging me $10-13 for. This was a disgrace. If there was alcohol in it, I missed it. It was a watery mess. I rarely send anything back, but I had to with this. The waitress immediately was put out by this. Why, I don't know. I asked for a red sangria for a replacement drink. Welp, no luck here either. This might as well have been Sutter Home wine poured over ice with an orange dropped in it. Also watery. Bartenders are obviously a disappointment. I sampled a shrimp scampi crustini the table ordered. It was a little crusty, but soggy, and the shrimp still had their tails in. Why do this for a one bite finger food? My wife and I decided to share the BBQ chicken pizza. I think this place does brick oven pizza, I could be wrong, but that at least looks like what they're going for. The pizza was good, but too lightly cooked. Should be crispy outside, chewy soft inside. This was floppy. It just seemed like everything was just a soggy, floppy mess. Horrible! Met friends here and felt we were rushed from the moment we sat down. My friend suggested the restaurant and after looking at the menu, I had low expectations and wasn't disappointed. I ordered caesar salad that had no flavor. Then ordered roasted chicken with mushroom stuffing in a lemon caper sauce. Waitress said the chicken was great and so moist. The chicken arrived and looked Ok, however, the stuffing was slop because it was under the skin and steamed being under the skin. I then cut into a piece of the chicken and it was raw! I was completely turned off. My friend's potato crusted cod was black, ie..burned. He isn't picky and just ate it. He said it completely lacked flavor since all he could taste was burned potato. My family and I visited on a late Thursday evening and was able to score a seat outside. Inside was busy and kind of loud. We had difficulty finding the restaurant and had to call them since we drove by twice and didnt see them. They are located next to the movie theatres and behind Walburgers. We didn't order any apps and went right to the main course. They offered a nice variety of seafood and pizzas. We ordered the eggplant parm, chicken parm, and the margherita pizza. We didn't receive any utensils or napkins until after our food arrived. The waitress had plenty of time but failed to deliver so we had to wait. Overall, the food was very good. The sauce on the parm was tasty and not sweet. The portions were huge. Plenty for a meal the next day. The waitress delivered our check to us and then asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. No thanks, I don't want to put you out. This appeared to be a seasoned waitress. The prices were very reasonable considering the food was very good and the portions were generous. You will not go home hungry. There is plenty of parking in the mall parking lot. My daughter told me the ladies room was dirty and there were flies on the wall. read more

She said take a seat on the couch and a 2 top will open soon. The table she was talking about was against the wall, between 2 other tables and a woman was sitting there. We were disappointed and left the restaurant, went to another place near by and was promptly sat at a four top, outside with a nice view not squished between 2 other tables and no wait.
