It's been a really long times since last at a Bob Evan's. I know they are not what they once were a decade or more ago. So expectations were low. A stop first at the restroom and it needed immediate attention. I told the manager and he had staff take care of it. I think someone was supposed to seat me, but I wondered in and found a booth and asked a waitress if ok. Staff came to the table quickly and I ordered quickly. A late get road breakfast & coffee. This location was great! The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was prepared fresh and was served hot. The rolls were fresh and fluffy. Our kids loved the Mac and cheese with the dessert to go with it. I had the country fried steak and it was top notch. Seasoned well and crispy coated. This was definitely the worst experience I've ever had in any restaurant by far. I went there with just my girlfriend and I and for starters we had to wait 20 mins to be seated when there was only two other parties of 3 people. After that we had to wait over an hour to have any type of waiter come up to us to see what we wanted to drink eat or etc. the mood throughout the whole restaurant was terrible due to the lighting there were multiple lights out and it was dark in the dining area. And to top it all off after we got our food. It came cold, my girlfriend had a burger and it wasn't cooked all the way through, and the one waitress that came out was standing at the table next to us the whole time carrying on a very loud conversation with another party. We i've been seated for 20 minutes. We ordered coffee about 20 minutes ago and have gotten nothing except water.

So, we were traveling through the area - heading to my son's wedding town in Ohio - and decided to try THIS Bob Evans. We were seated in a nice, clean booth and were ready to order when everything went downhill.. well, at least my dinner. I wanted the pot roast but wanted to make sure they didn't have any raw onions (hate em). The waitress was utterly dumbfounded. We decided it should be ok and ordered our meals. My wife's salad came out the way she wanted it, and she was happy. My roast, potatoes, and carrots were COLD. Not luke-warm, COLD. When I told the waitress, she grabbed the plate and headed for the kitchen. No "sorry". No "OMG". Nothing. The nice lady at the table beside me said "at least the manager should take care of ya". Nope. No manager, no discount, no nothing. When she returned to check one more time, she said nothing when I said "that was much better" and said nothing after dropping the check a few minutes later. The roast turned out *ok*, but after driving 5 hours, it would have been appreciated if it were right on the first try. Worst waitress I've had anywhere in a long time as well. I'm moving from Denver to Virginia and both times I've driven through here, we have stopped for the summer chicken salad plate. It's delicious! Be sure to ask for the "chickens salad not the salad with chicken on it." There is a difference. Their customer service is great every time! read more

We were staying at a hotel super close and are not from the area, but we were looking forward to Bob Evans for dinner. It was a Tuesday evening around 7pm and the restaurant was empty... we walked in and had to wait 3-4 minutes for someone to even see us so we could be seated. Then... we heard chatter of staff across the restaurant. No one came to take a drink order or greet us. My husband even stood up to see if someone had noticed us. After 10 minutes, we decided to leave as this was no indication of good service!! We went to another restaurant that was busy and still gave us great service. read more

This location is right off the exit, so it seemed like a convenient spot to grab breakfast. If you've been too Bob Evans before than you can expect the same menu, food, and taste. Location looks well maintained or at least newly renovated. The bathrooms could have been kept a little cleaner especially for a franchise. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly. It was snowing hard while I was there and the employees were good about clearing the sidewalk and laying down salt. Only reason I'm docking one star is because making substitutions was not really possible. This really limited what I could eat unless I wanted to order everything a la cart. read more

Very happy with the vegetable beef soup, it was very delicious. and unlike most places when you get vegetable beef soup, you get very little beef, not at Bob Evans! You get plenty of meat, and my brother got mac n cheese and corn and loved it so much! And the sweet tea is so tasty! read more

First the good- Our waiter Zack was very attentive and understanding of the issues. The hostess was very friendly. Now, the food temperature was luke warm, the grits were soup, and the replacement grits were soup. They had to serve the grits in a bowl because you could not pour them on the plate. The picture is the replacement grits which were a little better than the first but still unable to be put on a plate. They did comp me for the issue. read more

I've stopped here several times in the past and was always happy with the food and service. Tonight I was so pissed I almost threw the food at them. The staff had a problem with the order, I watched as they tried to find out just what was ordered. Had three people trying to blame each other for their stupid ass ways. Got the order and was missing items, had to make them get what we had ordered. Got to the room and was missing my cold slaw and soup. These people give the true definition of a dumb ass hillbilly. Wow, this place is probably one of the best Bob Evans' I've ever been to. It looks very nice, the wait staff is incredibly pleasant to deal with, and the food is top notch (not just for a Bob Evans either!). Unfortunately, I live in California, so I doubt I'll be coming here often, but if I'm ever in the area, not wanting to go to Waffle House (or other east coast specific restaurants), and in the need of breakfast, I'll definitely be coming here. So yeah. Probably never again. But I recommend it to you, at least! read more

Very poor customer service. We waited 20 minutes until we went to the manager to ask to get our order taken. Someone finally came to take our order, who took 10 minutes to get our drinks. While waiting for our food, the waitress never came to ask if we needed refills, which our cups were empty... Our food was incorrect, and the waitress forgot to even put the order in. Worst service and dirtiest Bob Evans ever visited. We were there on a Wednesday at 10.30. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks when we sat down. They gave my daughter a hot chocolate from a machine they admitted was broken. Service was awful. When we finally got our coffee the waitress didn't bring us silverware. Our food sat on counter for 5 minutes before it was delivered. When I told our waitress how awful the service was she argued with me. To top it off I asked to speak to a manager and one never came over. We are regular Bob Evans customers; but, I think this might have ruined that for us. I'm another Californian who is a raving fan of this fine restaurant. I have not been to any other Bob Evans places but I will be ASAP- As the other reviewer said the service is exceptional and the food is incredibly tasty and well-prepared. I had the most delicious chicken pot pie of my life, the wife's country fried steak was also exceptional and we shared a piece of sublime lemon cream pie. I could live at this place forever. Can't wait to try the one in Lynchburg, VA. They have take out family dinners for four under $20. read more

Our server never came back to refill our drinks or give us our check. Our pot roast meals came with almost raw and un-glazed carrots and raw onions(which were suppose to be grilled). Very happy that we chose this Bob Evans to get dinner tonight while in town for an overnight stay in Beckley, WV. It is located very close to all of the hotels. Our waitress was polite and attentive without overdoing it. She offered us refills and extra rolls as needed. She even gave me a fresh lemonade to go. The restaurant seemed to be clean and well run. Stopped here while on a road trip for lunch. I wanted some salad and got pretty much what I expected. The place was clean. The server was efficient and friendly. The food is typical salad in these kind of places (i.e. Bob Evans, Dennys, Cracker Barrel). The greens were fresh. The restaurant looks relatively new and well kept. We stopped in for breakfast as we left our hotel traveling towards home on Sunday morning, June 30. We arrived about 915am. Maybe 4-5 other tables of people in there when we arrived. We had 13 people. Got seated quickly and had a great waitress - she was super. However we waited FOREVER for our food. It was well over an hour. People coming in after us received theirs first. We had told our group to try this as we had eaten at other Bob Evans before, but this was beyond what you should wait. We had never experienced this before at any of their other restaurants. Our waitress kept our drinks refilled, but the wait on our order was not acceptable, esp with no other customers really. The food when we got it - tasted great. We did have a couple of order errors, but they eventually brought the right item out. If you have a long time and in no hurry, stop, if wanting to get on the road - go elsewhere. This was the worst trip to Bob Evans I've ever experienced. The soup was cold and very salty. The pot pie instead of a real pie crust had a Cookie looking disk of poor tasting brown 'crust' on top of a bowl of soup. Horrible supper! read more
