I learned that too much of a good thing is not a good thing. Once again, I am faced with this dilemma as an adult. I could eat an entire dozen of Sarah's oatmeal raisin cookies or the cowboy cookies. But I find myself in the same position as my childhood. Oh my goodness! These are the best cookies I've ever had in my life. And you can only find them at Sarah's Café and Bakery. Each cookie weighs 47 pounds and is a meal in itself. Perfect with a cup of coffee. Of course the coffee is good. My wife and I have had lunch there. The menu is vast and tasty. Once our table was ready, we were notified by the hostess and seated at a high top near the bar (bar seating it first come first serve at the bar). They also have low top tables for parties of 4 to 6. Despite being close to the bar, we were still able to talk easily and noise level was acceptable. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu and made some helpful suggestions that we used. We ordered a pickle fries appetizer with ranch dipping sauce with our drinks. These came out quickly and were still hot from the fryer but they were good and the homemade ranch was really good (our server advised they make all their sauces and dips in house). For our mains, we both ordered the original burger - a half pound burger on a bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles topped with ketchup, mustard and mayo. We also opted to pay an extra fifty cents to add cheese (American for me and provolone for her). We also opted to pay an extra fee to add sweet potato fries and onion rings to our meals as opposed to fresh cut chips. The burgers were a little slow getting out and drinks began to run dry. Once our burgers came out, they looked great but mine was a little salty and I could taste the salt over the other toppings in my first bite.
