Boba & More Xpress is a SMALL hole-in-the-wall cafe. It's not ideal for dining in, there's hardly a place to sit. This place is more for quick to-go orders. The cafe needs some cleaning. When I came by for the first time, there was only one person working. She was nice and patient while taking our orders. Boba & More Xpress have a vast selection of drinks with multiple toppings and mixings. Some of the prices are decent, some are outrageous. Who wants to spend $10 on Korean fried chicken or chicken wings!? Their milk tea is excellent. I loved their BBQ buns and kimchi bulgogi fries. Did you know that they serve the viral peach AND manga shaped ice creams here?! I might come back to Boba & More Xpress if I'm in the area. There are some days where I'm not feeling the big chain boba and can find solace in the mom and pop feel of Tapioca Xpress. Many independent spots usually offer basic flavors but that's most certainly not the case here. TapX has done a pretty good job with their variety, but it's the customer service I appreciate the most. The place is small and the ordering area is really just a small counter. The feel is as unpretentious as it gets and they usually have a number of Vietnamese pastries out front. This isn't one of the places to sit down and chill while working on their WiFi. It's more of a takeout joint -- order the drink and perhaps a bun and move on. I appreciate their attempt at variety. They have a good mix of fruit based and milk teas, but many of their drinks tend to slant to the sweeter side. There are things like sea salt taro coco blend or cap n' crunch cream blend or even the infamous cinnamon toast crunch. I personally have enjoyed their wintermelon milk tea, as well as their lavender honey so minty drink. The classic TapX milk tea is easily one of their most popular choices but I think their Vietnamese iced coffee (caphe sua da) is super underrated. There is some limited outdoor seating and plenty of parking. They also offer a limited selection of pre-made foods ranging from fried rice to summer rolls (goi cuon). The folks behind the counter are super sweet people and generally are pretty helpful when recommending drinks. read more

Customer service was terrible. My son came to pick up an online order that was to be ready in no more than 15 minutes. The wait ended up being more like 30 minutes. The girl at the counter even took an order and started on it before my online order. Will never order from this place again. To top it off they didn't have a pastry so she only refunded the amount minus the taxes paid. Stated she does not know how to calculate taxes. Ridiculous read more

Happened upon this small boba shop after getting some lunch in the same strip and was pleasantly surprised! They had a whole system of letting you customize your own drink but I kept it simple with the strawberry matcha with boba. It was SO good. Not too sweet and perfectly flavored. The boba was fresh and chewy just like it should be. One of my favorite things was the art wall I got to look at while waiting for my order. So funny. Don't confuse this with the TapX chain. Seemed like a lot of people are repeat customers and he knew everyone and was very friendly to all that came while I was there. Tapioca Xpress is surprisingly really good!! My expectations were set low because the outside of the building looks very old, needs renovation, and isn't in a very popular part of Houston. But dang were we surprised! Walking in, the tapioca shop is definitely on the small side. There is only a couple of chairs by the window and like two more seating areas by the walkway leading towards the restroom. Due to the small space, I'd probably recommend just getting a drink to go, there isn't much room to socialize very long if the place gets a little busy. But even though the space is small, the drink selection is huge as far as flavors and toppings to choose from. I decided to try their taro milk tea with tapioca and sea salt cream foam. SO GOOD! This will probably become my go to order because I'm craving one now as I write this review. Big taro flavor, perfectly soft tapioca, and the creamy sea salt foam on top just brings everything together with its richness. We'll be back very soon Tapioca Xpress! read more

We always come here after a stop at the foot massage place across the street from Hong Kong. It's a fairly small shop, but their drinks don't disappoint! This time I ordered a mango smoothie with matcha and tapioca. The boba pearls were soft and chewy - the perfect texture! My drink was delicious! Why 4 stars? Because this is another great option for boba in the area. --- --- --- En route from Houston to Friendswood, my wife mentioned that the one thing that would complete her trip to Texas would be one last boba tea. She searched for something conveniently located near I-45 and we landed on Tapioca Xpress. I was impressed right away when I saw the chalk board menu with the top items - all of which were a bit unconventional than the typical things you'd see at a similar shops. I couldn't resist the temptation to order the taro/coconut with salted caramel. My wife went with a thai tea. We liked but didn't love our choices. Her thai tea was a bit less sweet than normal. And while I love salted caramel, I don't know that I loved it with this particular drink because it kind of overpowered all of flavoring. With that being said, I would not hesitate to return here again because I'd love to continue working my way through the menu to try some of these other concoctions. My parents live nearby, so when I visit them, I'll do my best to come back again. read more

We've been coming here for years and it's one of the best tapioca places in South houston/clear lake area. Their Coffee Milk Tea with Coffee Jelly is a personal favorite and they make it the best out of any other boba place we've gone to. Their strawberry and avocado smoothies are always a go to with right amount of sweetness to it. It's definitely not a large enough space to bring a laptop and do any work, mainly just a grab and go, but the gentlemen who owns the shop is always super friendly and respectful. Tapioca Xpress, or "TapX" for short, is a small family runned business in a Vietnamese dominant strip on the side of scarsdale. Their motto, if I remember correctly, is pick a tea and then customize the drink to your liking. The folks do provide a clever "Top 10" list--not necessarily top 10 most ordered, but just a small list of drink combinations the owner came up with. Spoil alert: their #1 drink is their spin on the classic Milk Tea. If you're a fan of sea salt foam, you're gonna dig this bad baby (at least for the first couple times until you get bored of it'd overpowering sweetness). But to return to what makes this place so special, it's little to no cost to make modifications--remember, it is their business motto, after all. Want something creamier with some flare? Ask them to mix the sea salt foam INSIDE the drink. Added bonus, it also balanced out overly sweet drinks. Some of my favorites: 1.) YOLO avocado - clever name. I like avocados. They actually use REAL avocado in their drink. 2.) Watermelon, Lychee smoothie - my fiance's current favorite. 3.) Mango smoothie with sea salt foam mixed into it (creates a pseudo Teahouse - Mango cream blend) 4.) Coco Taro blend - for the taro lovers. read more

What to get: The Pina Colada drink, the other smoothies, and my number ;) What else: Pre-packaged desserts and Milk Tea not great. But then neither is representative democracy. Houston, bless it, has an immense number of awesome Bubble Tea shops. Some of them are chains (and generally top notch ones, such as ShareTea and Teahouse), whereas others are cute little Mom-and-Pop places which sell all sorts of desserts and all sorts of styles of drinks. This is one of the latter, though I can't guarantee the adorably nice owners are actually parents of anyone. I mean if pressed, I'd say yes, but I'd be guessing. My favourite thing here is the Pina Colada drink, and that alone is good enough that I'd give it 5 stars. The other Smoothie type drinks (maybe Vietnamese style Bubble Tea, if you like), are all excellent too. The Milk Tea on the other hand, doesn't really do much for me. And the pre-packaged desserts (like the Red Bean bun and such) are not too great, nowhere near as tasty as some of the ones on offer in Chinatown. But the wonderful service and adorable owners (and willingness to serve shortly before closing) tip the scales in favour of a glowing 5-star rating. WOW WOW WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!! Honestly when I first walked into this place I was thinking in my head the owner is going to be super rude to me, and he isn't going to like me because I am black. Lol, but I WAS WRONG!!!! This guy loved me, he was so sweet, and funny. Him and his brother immediately started to joke and laugh with me. I did let him know how I felt when I walked in, and he told me he is nice to anyone and everyone who walks in. Prices are a lot cheaper than that spot on Fuqua. They are $3 for drinks. The owner I think he said his name was Peter (because when he told me I was thinking of that peanut butter brand) recommended that I tried Strawberry Passion Fruit Green Tea with fruit jellies at the bottom lol that was a mouth full, and literally it was. I stayed in that spot for a bout an hour talking, and laughing. Wow they made me feel very welcomed and warm. Wow, I will most likely be coming back. Small little place. Ordered mocha frappe blended and durian blended. Both are delicious. We also got a side order of Kim chi fries which was delicious. Love the tangy and spiciness of it and love how they also put white onions in them. Overall good. Parking can be hard here.. not a very big place to hangout for a while. Bathroom is decently clean. Tapioca Xpress was always that boba place near the Hong Kong market and My Quang, that I never stopped in. Until now. ;) The drinks are great - lots of variety, with so many sinkers, smoothies, flavors, warm or cold. I love the customization. Also, those kimchi fries... damnnnnn. They're delicious. They might not look like much compared to the super loaded ones found at other food trucks or fusion restaurants, but I like that there is just enough topping for flavor in every bite, without losing the nice crisp on the fries. Sadly, they don't have the kimchi fries every day. It ranges from totally calm to completely chaotic in there, but I love the drinks and fries, so I'll be returning, often. So i must leave a review this time though i have been here several times. Since i live in the area, its super convenient to pop in here whenever I'm craving boba which is pretty much every weekend lol. Today was extra special because i got to chat a bit with the owner of the place, Danny. While waiting for boba to "cook" i sat and chatted about everything with Danny. He is soooooo friendly, down to earth and fun! Everyone that works here is also very helpful and are always polite and in great spirit. I always get the same thing though so i cant help make suggestions on what to get- except jasmine green tea. Today i tried the kimchee french fries which are reasonably prices and delishhhhhh! I remember coming here in 2014 and not being impressed. Everything tasted like powder and so artificial. I used to live near a TeaHouse and would get my drinks there, but now that I've moved I needed to find another place for drinks. Came in here to give it another shot since it's been years and it's still around and I must say I was extremely impressed. This place got a complete makeover and is much more cuter now. The drinks have also improved 100%. I've started to become a regular now whenever I crave a smoothie. I've become addicted to their sea salt milk foam and add it to pretty much all of my drinks to get that rich creamy flavor. Shoutout to the worker that recommended the sea salt milk foam. Don't remember his name, but I would have never tried it without his recommendation. Their art wall they have is so cute, and I recommend downloading the clover app so you can get free drinks! I wasn't very impressed with the kimichi fries, I personally think they don't give you enough meat and the kimchi flavor is lacking but I definitely enjoyed the fried chicken. GREAT SERVICE!! I was traveling through town when I wanted boba and a quick snack. I decided to take a chance here and I had quite a good time! The employee there was so FRIENDLY, PATIENT, and ENCOURAGING. There were so many yummy food options and toppings I needed time to look through. Felt a bit risky and ended up choosing Cinnamon Toast Crunch smoothie from the TOP 10 drinks list. Anything from the top 10 list is a safe bet, if I was a local I'd definitely come back often and try the rest. The wall art was very entertaining to look at and kimchi fries were nice. This place is bomb. I came here for the first time about 3 years ago, but they were ok. I wasn't too big a fan since I've had boba in Chinatown. However, in the recent year they have done an amazing job on this place! The tapioca balls are very good now. They don't stick together in a clump like before but they are nicely chewy with an bit of sweetness to them. I don't often get the fruity drinks. I tend to stick with the green milk tea, honey green milk tea, or green tea with sinkers boba/coffee jelly/ egg pudding or a mix. Highly recommend! Prices are good, very reasonable and they don't charge for additional sinkers. The owner and staff here are very nice and friend. They are easy to converse with and that's very important for customers to come and feel welcome. This place is one of the best if the THE best tapioca spots in the area. I've been going to this spot since 2013 if that tells you how amazing this place is. Back in the day, I would only get smoothies with tapioca. Now it's rare that I get a smoothie because I'm busy trying everything else on their menu. I have not once been disappointed in any of their drinks. More recently I have tried their mangonada and horchata Thai tea and both were made beautifully. These friggin' angels are the best and don't disappoint when you ask for them to recommend something.
