As someone who has had boba across several states, Tacoma generally doesn't really have the best boba options, so Bobalust is definitely an anomaly. I'd even go as far to say that it's the best boba spot in the Tacoma area. They have smoothie, slushies, tea, milk tea, and etc. The drinks are quite filling, so I usually have no room for food! (Cost): $8.27 + tip (Location): The shop itself is on the smaller end, with a few tables inside for seating. It's located in a very busy shopping area-- a little bit down the street from Tacoma Mall. It gets insanely busy during the weekend, so plan your trip accordingly. The good thing is that there is a lot of parking. (Service): I have been here quite a bit and the employees have always been pleasant to interact with. I literally cannot recall a time where I had a bad experience, and the drink was made in less than 5 minutes. I don't know if it's ran by the same people, but I went to a Bobalust near Tukwila that also had excellent service. (Food): Summer Saas (5/5)-- a fruit tea drink with peach pieces in it. I also added in some black boba. I usually stick to the Orange Dreamsicle, but I decided to try something new and I am so glad that I did. This drink was amazing-- not too sweet but also not too tart. I will definitely order it again. Orange Dreamsicle (5/5)-- a smoothie type drink made with vanilla and orange. BobaLust is our go-to spot for boba in Tacoma. It's located in a nice area, close to shopping and has a large parking lot adjacent. We have yet to find a drink we haven't liked. From the chamoy-mango slushee to the taro milk tea, it is all delicious. If it sounds good to you, most likely you'll love it. The interior has limited seating. It's not a great place to come and study, etc, because of that. They could definitely re-structure dead space and make it more friendly to guests staying, but maybe their business model doesn't work like that! We love BobaLust. :) read more

We go to BobaLust's in south center and Lynnwood. Gotta say this location does not live up to the Bobalust name. The up north locations feel more of a vibe and the crews are very warm and welcoming and even asks us how are day is going every single time, no matter how busy. So happy they opened a second location in Tacoma! I used to go to the location in downtown Tacoma all the time but sometimes had issues with finding parking. But with this new location, that's not a problem at all. This new location offers all of the same amazing drinks as the others and they all taste just as great. The customer service is consistent throughout all the locations and is absolutely exceptional. Super friendly employees. They take COVID precautions very seriously - enforcing social distancing and the staff is wearing masks at all times. The location is also very clean. You would have to be searching for bubble tea to you know it was there or just happen to see it if you are at one of the nearby businesses. We both got taro smoothies with honey boba. The drinks we had were honeydew milk tea with less ice and OG milk tea less ice less sugar.Both of them were not good. Aesthetic, the pearls, flavors, the signature menu, quality of drinks - always pretty happy with my choices here, and usually the workers have good suggestions if you're not sure of what to get! I'm glad to see that there is a location near the Tacoma Mall, Because the original location is difficult to get to and almost impossible to find parking near. Even so, this location is dark and feels more like a pop-up location than an actual store. The store owners would benefit from hiring an interior designer to spruce the place up. As always, I ordered the OG Milk Tea. I do think it's silly that you have to pay extra for Boba when you're visiting a Boba joint. It would make more sense to simply tell customers what the true cost is, instead of making it sound like the drink is just $4.50, then bumping it up once you add the Boba.
