Once I got wind of the looming stay-at-home mandate, I decided to run one last non-essential errand: picking up a project to keep myself busy at home. I decided that fixing up my flowerbed would be my project, and so off I went to Renaissance Gardens. The location of Renaissance Gardens somehow manages to be both convenient and inconvenient. Is convenient because it's on a major road, so I pass it frequently. It is inconvenient because it is on an oddly-shaped lot, and thus has a strange parking situation. There is enough room to park 2 cars normally/perpendicular, but then you have to get creative/parallel park. There's enough room that it's not really a problem, but it might catch some people off guard. Gardening isn't really my thing, so I can't be sure, but Renaissance Gardens seem to have a good selection of plants. Certainly more than I would've guessed from my various drives past them. I didn't know what I wanted, just listed my requirements - something to grow in a full sun flowerbed and help crowd out weeds - and the ladies were able to show me some options. So I got some professional advice, pretty flowers, and a random cat sighting; awesome.

Matthew is unprofessional, unorganized, and careless. He overcharges, uses deception to confuse you with your bill, does work he is not authorized to do, charged us prices we didn't agree on, actually changed one invoice and i just so happened to catch it. He claims he is 'very careful with the plant count and invoices' but he billed me for 900 plants on one invoice and there was no way possible 900 plants were put in the garden, it was more like 77 when we went back and counted. Everything on his bill was inflated, nothing was under estimated. When confronted, he acts like a child. I should have known from the start not to get involved with this man, he missed our first two appointments then begged me to meet him again. I gave him a chance and i should have stuck with my gut. He cut the att line for the entire neighborhood, actually got in verbal fights with another contractor working at the house, got in arguments with the neighbors, and to this day he texts me random photos and questions thinking i am someone else. And finally, he is now suing me because we caught on to what he was doing and how he inflated charges, charged for work he didn't do, etc. What a nightmare it was to work with this man. None of the other bamboo that he planted is doing that. My family and I have planted bamboo in our homes in Metairie and uptown.We have never planted a bread that needed that much maintenance. I pay Mathew Ponseti monthly for maintenance. Mathew told me today that to deal with this I would have to rent a dumpster and pay his men to cut it with chainsaws. Why did he plant something in my backyard that would require such expensive maintenance? I would never have agreed to that. He has also changed my watering system from watering twice a week to every day without informing me. I had no idea why my water bill had gone up so much until I found out the watering system had been changed. I still haven't been told why this was necessary.
