It was open when I walked to the restroom and when I came back out, this sign was up at 9:30 It specifically says closes at 10 PM. This was literally the last meal during our trip to Phoenix - a burger joint at the airport with Bobby Flay's branding. LOGISTICS Located in Terminal 4, Southwest Airlines, D Concourse (Gates 11-18) - Bobby's Burgers is a good option past security at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Can't speak for ambiance since it was a counter service restaurant in the middle of one of the terminals. There are tables around that you can use to eat. FOOD Bobby's Veggie Burger: Not a vegetarian but this looked really interesting ... and it was a good bet, because it was REALLY good. Far cry from the black bean / Morningstar burgers, the combination of mushrooms, chickpeas, and quinoa made for a filling and satisfying burger. It was meaty without being greasy and super savory. As a mushroom lover, I was a fan and would highly recommend this as a meat-alternative. Onion Rings: Do yourself a favor - eat these fresh. Don't carry them onto your flight because they will probably be soggy. That said, these were some of the best onion rings I've ever had with a caveat - they are very seasoned so if you're used to your onion rings being bland... fair warning. Breading wasn't too thick at all, very flaky, and it went really well with the buttermilk ranch sauce. Pistachio Shake: Terrible for my health, delicious for my soul. It was creamy and a nice sweet treat - you could definitely taste the pitaschio flavor. A bit heavy on the whip cream - I'd recommend trying to eat off the whip cream so you can get a cover on it. OVERALL Definitely a good spot for a quick meal at the airport if you're looking for something interesting- it's technically "fast food" but it tasted made to order and came out fairly quickly. I can't speak if pricing is more expensive for the food outside of the airport, but prices were comparable to what I was used to seeing at airports ($15+ for the sandwich) and at least they had some interesting options. I do recommend trying to eat these items fresh rather than plan on taking them on the plane. Bobby! Why would you put your name on this place?!? We tried the Bacon Crunch burger and the BBQ Smokehouse burger and both had one flavor and one flavor alone: salt! If you're putting bacon and potato chips on a burger, don't dump a bottle of salt on the patty, too! Same with the BBQ burger - my daughter had a hard time eating it because it was so salty. During our layover in Phoenix we decided to finally give this spot a try. We can't really speak to "ambiance" since it was in a food hall at the airport. However, it had the branding from the signage to the food packaging. Service wise, the ordering process was quick and we did t have to wait long for our food. For the food, I opted for the Veggie Burger. It was a unique take where it was a patty compiled of sliced portobello mushrooms and fried. Very cool and it was good. I wanna say I was truly excited to see this food option inside PHX airport. It was a walk from our terminal to arrive here but we wanted a burger. One you couldn't get in KC. The lady taking our early morning breakfast order was AMAZING . She was so cheerful and thoughtful she gets all the stars . Apparently she always works the opening shift at this , one of the first cafes open at Sky Harbor airport for coffee (or mochas ) However I Got the turkey sausage BREAKFAST SANDWICH. We needed lunch before a flight and decided to grab a burger here. We in really liked it! The girl that helped us was really, really energetic and friendly. The patties are pretty large, and you can have it cooked the away you like--almost unheard of for counter service. We both got the classic burger, but there are some other great options, like the crunch burger with potato chips layered in top of the patty. I also had a Cayenne Vanilla Latte. I had to go up and get my burger myself, and there were like five employees just standing there doing nothing. We have 3 Bobby's Burgers by Bobby Flay in Las Vegas and I've never been to any of them. Caesar's Palace , Harrah's , and Paris Hotels. When you work on the Strip you don't normally eat on the Strip or go there on your days off. So after wandering around looking for somewhere to eat for my 2 1/2 hour layover I found you. I passed a few other restaurants with $20 burgers and $20 personal pizzas , so I was surprised that your burgers were $15 from a Celebrity Chef restaurant. I was torn between the Brunch Burger and the Bbq Smokehouse Burger. I went with the Bbq Smokehouse Burger , Fries , and a Soda. I got mine Well Done and it was perfectly cooked , not dry or overcooked. It was a solid burger with buttermilk onion ring , Chipotle BBQ Sauce , and American cheese. It was pretty good. The fries were fresh and they gave me Ranch and Bobby's Sauce. I liked both and used both , but I think I like the Bobby's Sauce a little better. Also they do a 10% Military Discount which I appreciate. Not all businesses do that anymore. Also I got a free refill of soda. I would recommend you trying Bobby's Burger if you've never had it and for airport food the price is very reasonable. Even though it's located in the Sky Harbor airport, the quality of food and service does not suffer! The line was long but ,moved very quickly. The cashier was very courteous and quick at taking the orders. We waited about 10 minutes for our burger and found a seat. There's some seating right in the area. It's almost like a mini food court. I got the BOBBY BLUE + BACON BURGER with regular fries and the bobby sauce. Now that burger was cooked to absolute perfection. I got it cooked to a medium temp and the patty was extremely juicy and flavorful. (The fact that you get asked what temp you want your burger at a "fast-food" establishment is awesome) The bacon also had a delicious rich smoky taste. It was a thick cut of bacon. The blue cheese is just the perfect amount of tangy zestiness and creates a great flavor balance with the smoky bacon. The fries are perfectly crispy and pair great with the Bobby sauce. We were shutting the airport down waiting on our redeye flight to board but all the places near our gate were overcrowded with long lines. We made our way over to Gate Area D and hit up Bobby's. Menu is straightforward, but note, it's all a la carte, no combo meals. We had the Palace Classic Burger which had all the standards (cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles & Bobby's Sauce). For the 2nd one, I was able to add bacon to it as bacon makes everything better, and opted to get 1 order of fries to share as it was late in the evening. Burger took about 8-10 mins but exceeded our expectations for "airport" food. Burger meat and toppings were good and Bobby's Sauce had a nice flavor profile. The only hiccup for us was that I requested my burger to be cooked medium (with the bacon) and it was swapped with the other burger that was requested to be medium well/done. Located within Gate D in Terminal 4 is a cluster of restaurants, which this establishment is situated. This is a grab-and-go location, so no seating to enjoy your meal (no ambiance). I've had my eye on their Veggie Burger ($12.99) for a while, but typically take morning flights. Tonight was the night I finally took a night flight out and was able to try this location. Still shocked an order of French Fries was $5.49 and a burger at $12+ didn't come with a side of fries. I understand airport pricing, but insanity that it's $5+ for an order of French Fries that I didn't feel were anything special. For the price point we paid, we all did not feel the price justified the flavor or portion. Price is only one factor, so you may be wondering about the taste/flavor? The flavor of the veggie burger was overall okay, but not my favorite as far as texture goes. My parents had the Palace Classic Burger ($12.99) and they also weren't raving about the flavor. Though we overall weren't impressed, it still satisfied our hunger and the service was friendly.
