Quite a find. Looks from the outside a little rundown as part of beach rental complex. But inside very smart golf oriented modern wood booths with outside options. Strangely we tried to go to a nearby restaurant that closed at 2 pm for lunch. The hostess there recommended Bobbie's and as they say a person in the trade recommending somewhere is a good sign. Apparently famous for French dip - I tried it and nothing special but ok and hit the spot. My wife had blackened Salmon which was large and she could not stop overeating it. They are also renown for fresh fish so not surprisingly the Salmon was first class. Separately there is a bar that was full but strangely they had no fraught beer available in the restaurant. Stopped at Bobby's on a Sunday for a bite around 2pm. The ambiance was casual and the place looked, I'm assuming, just how it must have in the 1970s. The lounge, located in a separate room, was standing room only. The average age of the crowd was in their mid-60s or 70s, which is likely more typical of Vero Beach than Bobby's in general. We ordered a few things to try including a fried grouper sandwich, a cheeseburger and an order of ribs off the appetizer menu. The grouper was lacking in flavor, but was hot and fresh. The ribs were "fall off the bone" and actually decent. The burger was probably the best of the 3, it wasn't bad at all. Service was fast and she was pleasant. We didn't have to ask twice for anything. One thing I will note, the men's room was dirty, similar to a dive bar's bathroom. Maybe because the place is old and in need of an update but it made me wonder if other parts of the establishment were unclean. read more

It's been said that a bar is only as good as the bartender and boy oh boy does Bobby's have an incredible daytime bartender! We happened in looking for a drink and found two seats at the bar. Kristy asked what we wanted and served it in chilled glasses with speed that was remarkable. At one point I asked if we were the only non-local or not regulars - after a quick look she confirmed it! But we didn't feel like we were intruding so yay! We decided to go for lunch the next day and, although the bar was crowded, Kristy put her traffic control hat on and after a short wait we had seats. The food - omg - we had deli sandwiches that were a couple of the best ever! Mine was a pastrami melt on rye with Swiss cheese and spicy mustard, absolutely melt in your mouth. We came here for dinner because most restaurants in Vero Beach closed early which was shocking. The steaks were pretty good but the sandwich I got was absolutely awful. No flavor, nothing in it except meat between the bread. What kind of disgusting sandwich is that ? The sweet fries were great but I think they need to take that sandwich off their menu. This is a longgg time Vero Beach spot. We met friends who were staying at Reef Ocean Beach Resort from out of town. Bobby's is attached. We had the French Dip, which is a signature dish. It was delicious. Potato salad reminds me of my Mother in law's, which was yummy. Service was excellent, thank you Diane! Space is clean. Came here for dinner after hearing good things about Bobby's from friends. They were spot on! The ambience is very clean and dimly lit but still light enough for everyone to see each other and the noise was not too loud I was able to hear what my party had to say. Our waitress Julie was great and super friendly. Food was delicious I had the french onion soup and I have to say it's one of the best one I ever had. As for the main event, the primer rib; I had mine cooked medium rare and had the outer layer seared (per their recommendation) and my goodness it was wonderful! Perfect!. So juicy and every bite was a delicious as the last one. I am glad I got to experience a local favorite and my experience was phenomenal. If you are in Vero Beach and one to try a local favorite this is one that I highly recommend. read more

Prime rib was not even a prime rib cut . When sent back to kitchen was told "that's prime rib but just a different cut" medium rare was cooked medium well . I went to eat with 3 others and I had the bacon cheeseburger, friends had the turkey club with everything expected , the delmonico steak sandwich with added onions and mushrooms was huge and delicious...and the Bobby's burger was huge and great...the sides are good and staff is amazing! It's decorated in an old school golf club including artwork of different golf course features. The menu was comprehensive and not crowded. Located merely a building away from Holiday Inn on the beach, is Bobby's Restaurant and Lounge. It's a really popular place and since it doesn't take reservations, be prepared for long waits. It has both inside and outside dining but at the moment, due to understaffing, the outside is closed. My partner had their filet which was a large beautiful cut of meat perfectly prepared the way he ordered it. But I think I had the star of Bobby's menu choices with a perfectly roasted and lightly grill seared 12oz prime rib. It was exceptionally tender and full of good meat flavor. I love this place! The service is superb and no matter what I order it comes out perfectly. On my last visit I had the turkey Reuben with sweet potato fries and my husband had a club sandwich. We ordered lamb, med rare came out very rare, had to send back to get cooked some more, which was ok ,lamb usually is amazing alone does not need a breaded seasoning on it , took away from the lamb, not the best lamb we have ever had, prime rib was tough also, we went with thoughts of an amazing burger, we should have stuck to our first thoughts. Bobby's is still the place for pub food in a relaxing, cozy space. Bring a hearty appetite along with you, you'll need one! Bobby's was at one point in time the go-to restaurant for Tommy Lasorda when the Los Angeles Dodgers used to conduct spring training. The Dodgers left Vero several years ago but you can still see traces of their presence on the walls at Bobby's. Well worth a trip... and don't forget to bring your appetite! read more
