This woman is the rudest woman I have ever met! This was our FIFTH and LAST YEAR ever coming to Bob Whites Acres. When we got to the stand to pay for our apples she literally started screaming (mind you, I have 2 small children with me) about how she's calling the cops on us if we don't pay double for picking the wrong apples. My husband walked her down to the row that we picked from, while she screamed at him the entire time so loudly we heard her from the stand, to show her exactly where we picked our apples from - THE ROWS WITH THE PINK RIBBONS. This woman is a disgrace and should not be running a business. My family and I will never return because of the way we were just treated.

Bob White Acres (aka Bobwhite Acres) is a PIY fruit farm that can be a little difficult to find but is well worth the effort. I wasn't driving and I'm terrible at directions so.. Mapquest and cross your fingers! At the moment it's strawberry season and we just picked some good ones for a low low $1.50 a pound. The whole area smelled like strawberries.. pretty tasty stuff. Since it seemed like strawberry season is winding down I asked what the rest of the summer would be like and it went a little something like this: June - Strawberries July - String beans (early), blueberries, Lodi apples, plum tomatoes August - Peaches and nectarines

Beautiful peaches

I've been to many orchards with my family. A great way to get fresh food, spend time with each other, and have a great experience outdoors. Bob white has been a family tradition since I was little and now I take my girls here. Bob white is different than other orchards for many reasons. First driving here is like a tour in the country with winding roads old barn and church architecture, mountain views and rolling hills. When you arrive the staff is friendly and give you tips on picking. Price point is lower than most places and the orchard is well laid out so if a few family's are there you can still have a personal experience. Picking apples and peaches are great because they have these old carts that hold the baskets rather than pulling around a plastic bag like other places. And the views in the orchard are beautiful looking down hill into the Lehigh valley. I usually bring lunch and we picnic right in the orchard (and enjoy a peach or two in the process). When you're done go visit coopersburg, limport, Bethlehem, or the promenade shops. All close to here.

My family has been coming here for at least 10 years. We make the trek out from Lansdale to come and pick apples every year. The people who work here are incredibly kind, and are always helpful with the "I picked 60 lbs of apples and how am I going to get them back to my car?" connundrum. They also have a pumpkin patch that you have to take a cute little hay ride to, which is always delightful. I hope Bob White is open for many years to come! Maybe one year I'll come in the summer for strawberry and blueberry picking.

Yesterday was another fun day at Bobwhite to pick apples. $.75/lb. Low trees for the kids and several varieties. Then the kids took a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out their own prize pumpkin for carving.

P.S. a lot of the apples are rotten. My girlfriend accidentally took a bite out of one...

Fantastic plump blueberries today. Staff is always fantastic. Thought 5 lbs was enough before we started shoveling them in.

This is not unique to Bob White but have observed peach picking has been minimal at other locations as well.

Fresh garland wreaths, roping, Christmas accessories and railroad gifts are also for sale in the barn, "Christmas Junction". Dave and Lynn Beck are good family friends so even though there are 3 or 4 other tree farms close by, we always go to Beck's. It is a tradition to go after church on a Sunday afternoon and pick our tree. Um, most people drive home with their tree tied to the roof of their car. My family is NOT like most people. Dad feels it's much easier to uh, drive our John Deere tractor/wagon here and load it up in the wagon so we can forgo the hassle of tying it to our car. It's been a little different since my brother and I left the nest as the tree is usually up when we get home from Penn State or DC, respectively. When I moved to DC and bought a fresh tree 2 years ago, I was astounded by the $50 price tag. A 4-5 foot tree for $50!? Not the case at Beck's. I believe the price is between $40-45 for a 6 or 7 foot tree which is amazing. Beck's also has a huge pile of garland behind the barn that patrons are free to take as much as they want. Mom usually takes a few pieces to assemble mini trees that she puts on our front porch as decorations. Go to Beck's for your Christmas trees. It's worth it. But you don't have to bring your tractor...you can just bring a regular car or truck ;-). [PHOTOS] http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/7p4m-QZKoAeVDK99Cvw1vQ?select=OwrLyYk8B0y7UkQxUPzfAg

Lenhart's Tree Farm

Last year my entire family came down with Covid at Thanksgiving. I nearly succumbed to it. After a…read morelengthy illness, we went looking for a Christmas tree shortly before Christmas. We had little if anything to spend on a tree. The folks at Lenharts were kind enough to give us a tree they still had on their lot at an incredible price. As a result we returned this year for our 2022 Christmas tree. We couldn't be happier. We found a gorgeous 10 ft Concolor Fir. It was freshly cut. The crew did a great job ensuring a straight drill job. They went to great lengths to make sure the drill hole was straight and done right. They baled our tree for us. They even loaded it in my pickup. The fields are full of trees. The variety and selection is extensive. Prices are still very compatible. The farm is not hard to find when following a GPS. Parking is along the road for the most part, but the road is pretty quiet and locals understand the dynamic and seem to be courteous. This is a multi generational, family run farm. You will not get an air of commercialism here. Here you are a friend, a neighbor and a valued customer. This tree farm gets a five star rating from me. Sadly I left my phone in the truck, otherwise I would have clicked a few pics. Once we have the tree up, I'll edit with a picture of our family's 22nd Christmas tree.

This year we had the dog in the truck and the girl working insisted on let him roam around. 5 mins later the wife the girl and the dog were playing ball in the field while I'm helping 2 other guys trying to load this tree (with roots) into my suburban. It must of weighted 400 pounds. After 10 mins of struggling we finally got it in. The guys asked how I was going to unload it and even offered to keep it on there dolly. They said I could bring the dolly back after I was done.. I myself like fake no work no back injury trees, but it puts my mom in the Christmas spirit so we will be back next year.(with the dog).
