    Order the fries trio!

Modern dutch mini sandwiches. Super lekker! Everything I've had here is great. You should order two sandwiches for an average appetite as they are tapa small-sized and about €3 each. I always want to eat more and more! Great to come with friends and sample a few at once. I really love the Manchego met vijgencompote and Gerookte makreel met citroen-kappertjes mayonaise. This a great place to go by for a lunch or afternoon snack. The front bay window area is very cozy with all sorts of cushions, and they often open the large windows -- ahh so great on a nice day... -- Update: In the evening there is another delicious menu. Try the trio of fries with sweet potato, curly and normal ones. It comes with three different aiolis too-- the truffle mayo made my taste buds do the roger rabbit. The meat & cheese plate looked incredible -- good for groups. Will be back to try more!

Cute little gem! Wednesday morning visit and we ordered a Bloody Mary. Perhaps a little judgement considering it was a weekday, but it was my last day in the city before I had to head back to the states. Server had great attitude and the place had the best AM playlist that set the mood for the perfect last day. American breakfast was plated so adorably. I hear they have DELICIOUS fries, but only available after 4... And a foie gras burger?

Medium fish boca platter, loved every bite of it as well as the fries!

My friend suggested this place and I understand why! After a nice soup as an appetizer we shared a medium boca platter (fish) and had the fries to go with it. It was delicious and came very quick as we went for a very early dinner, I believe it was around 5pm. Staff is very friendly and I loved the decor. Good for a date but also a girl's night out as we did. Two thumbs up!

After a long jet lagged flight, we settled it and were excited to try as this had been on our list. We arrived excited to try their famous Boca platter but were hastily told "sorry that's only for dinner you'll have to come back at night." That killed our appetite quick. That and the small tiny gnats that were flying around the empty table next to us. Regardless, we stayed and had a little snack near the bar area. Ordered three small sandwiches and they were all good; one w the pate, one w the beef tartar and one with a cheese from Amsterdam.

The middle boca platter and the potato platter.

I love this cozy dining! I got a middle boca's platter and a potato platter. The boca's platter was middle but it didn't look so.It was larger than I thought! And the potato platter..was so delicious! It's highly recommend! I definitely visit here again when I come to Amsterdam :)

My only disappointment with Boca's is that I won't get to try the various other options they had on the menu, but the one I did have was Brilliant! Bright, white and airy. That's the way I would describe it. Situated in one of the coolest neighbours of the Dam it is definitely a modern café/restaurant with an excellent but eclectic music play list, friendly staff and lots of tables to sit outside at if the sun it paying the city a visit when you are there. The menu is cool and unusual and seems to be different at different times of day. When we were there at lunch/brunch we had the Boca's (little bread rolls) themselves. You pick from a list of fillings and then they come out on a platter to share. We had a dynamite tuna & cheese salad, a delightful gouda and pickle one, a very unusual scallop and salami roll and also a nice triple cheese one. (There is 5 in the picture, but being honest I have forgotten one of them) The rolls look small, but were very tasty and actually quite filling. They also seem to do other dishes later in the day, there was some amazing sounding platters and I also love the idea of fries three ways!! A great place to visit and offering something a bit different from the normal café/restaurant style of pick from one menu. If I am ever back in Amsterdam, I will 100% be back to Boca's

I tried their fish plates. Very fresh and good taste. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxing. The people next to me had meat plate. Looks nice too.

Not too many vegetarian options. The one I had was decent. Really good vibe - good for a group night out.

Coffee & Coconuts, seriously another amazing cafe that I visited during my trip in Amsterdam!…read more This cafe is hidden on the outside, but once you step inside, it is massively huge with three stories of dining tables. After waiting to be seated, our hostess guided us upstairs to the third floor, where they have several more dining tables and cozy couches that you can sit on while you enjoy your coffee. My parents, having visited this cafe before during their last trip to Amsterdam, raved about this place and suggested that I try their famous coconut coffee. All three of us ordered their coconut coffee, with my dad adding an espresso shot to his own so that he could stay awake for the rest of the night. Once I reached that first sip, OMG. SO DELICIOUS. How can I make my own coconut coffee back at home?! I loved it so much that I really want to make a copycat of it. The straws are also bendable, which really makes it handy if you need to lower your straw a bit. If I could, I would get on a plane to Amsterdam just to come back for their coconut coffee. That's how delicious it is! Local or tourist, I strongly suggest Coffee & Coconuts. You will not regret coming here at all!

While it functions as a cozy, traditional Dutch brown café, virtually everyone comes here for one main reason: the famous Dutch apple pie (*appeltaart*). It completely lives up to the reputation. Served warm with a massive dollop of fresh whipped cream, it's thick, perfectly spiced, and has an almost cake-like crust that sets it apart. Pairing a slice with a fresh mint tea is pretty much mandatory. Because of its status and location, it's almost always buzzing with people--especially on market days--but the staff manages the perpetual queue remarkably fast. Snagging a table on the outdoor terrace for some people-watching along the canal is hard to beat. Whether you're taking visitors around the neighborhood or just out exploring the Jordaan.

I'd say about 95% of the people were ordering the apple pie, so of course we had to get one to see what the hype was about. The apple pie is pretty unique, it's basically a big chunk of cooked apple topped with a sweet, crumbly cookie like crust. The flavor reminded me of those little brown biscuits you get as airplane snacks... basically Biscoff cookies. lol!!! Overall, you really taste the natural apple flavor along with that Biscoff like cookie flavor. The pie itself isn't very sweet, which I actually liked, but adding some whipped cream definitely brings up the sweetness and makes it even better. The setup is pretty straightforward: get in line, order and pay, pick up your food, then find your own seat. It's definitely a popular spot, so be prepared for the crowd and a bit of a wait.
