    LOMO SALTADO
    Charlene K.

I came with my friends on a Thursday night and got seated immediately. We were all craving lomo saltado - it was generously portioned and tender. We also got the yuca fries with the yellow creamy sauce which was our favorite. My only issue was that a questionable stand of a few dessert cookies were out in the open air and in reach of customers by the front door, which if it's not complementary, I don't see why it wouldn't at least be covered and properly handled.

First time customers Family went to have lunch for Mother's Day. Nice decor, friendly service and big servings. We ordered two appetizers to share in addition to the individual orders. Food we ordered were all good. Servings are big so we ended up taking home some leftovers overs. Will come back and bring the rest of the family. It seems the place can accommodate a big group.

First time here and planning on returning. The food is authentic but you have to be patient, it is truly cooked to order. The ambience is casual but a good drink like the pisco sour makes the wait go by easy. Had the lomo saltado, a staple of any Peruvian restaurant- loved the tender beef and veggies were fresh complimenting the dish. The chancho was my favorite, crispy suckling pig with tender , juicy meat- what's not to love. Skin was crunchy, with a hint of sweetness in a good way. This dish is only available Friday through Sunday- this will definitely make me return quicker.

2/12/26: Lights! Camera! Acción! My gorgeous girlfriend surprised me with tickets to the Jennifer Hudson Show for a pre-Valentine's LA Road Trip! After our continental breakfast at our hotel before the show, plus some pre-show vending machine snacks, and awesome albeit lengthy live tv show experience, we were ready to yell "CUT!" on the day & head to dinner! Vibe check: synchronicity! While perusing Yelp for places in Pasadena, we decided we were in the mood for either ramen or lomo. We instinctually chose the latter & went with Peruvian food. Enter Bodegon No 69! Ready for its close up, it did not disappoint! From our guest starring hostess who offered us the cozy, romantic table in front, to our special guest server who recommended the Pisco Sours as an adlib to our initial martini request. It worked! Leave it in the script! As we spoke about the phenomenal Taraji P Henderson's appearance on the show earlier, we eyed our Hidden Figures...the Starter Menu! Choclo Serrano & Causa Limena to the set! The double C combo satiated our hunger pangs instantly! Bravo to the Best Supporting Cast! A climactic scene was building, as we locked eyes, while planning our future over strong drinks and even stronger chemistry! Still got that spark! Enter our stars: Lomo Saltado and Aji de Gallina! Oscar worthy flavor & plentiful portions of food! Deliciosity (is this even a word?!) thy name is Bodegon No 69! Chill vibe, good service, great food, and a divinely stunning co-star who shines brighter than a champagne supernova in the sky! TL:DR - Find someone you can love like crazy and who will love you the same way back.

Delicioussss meal and pisco sour for a Friday night dinner date. I've never satinside since you can sit outside but the decor inside seems lovely as well. Server was courteous and friendly.

The food here was genuinely delicious, bold flavors, well-prepared dishes, and overall a great dining experience from a culinary standpoint. Service was also good. Our server was attentive, kind, and did his best to make sure we were taken care of throughout the night. That said, this isn't the best spot for a larger group or a special occasion. We were celebrating my parents' 47th anniversary, and while we didn't mind being seated about 20 minutes late, the seating itself was disappointing. We were placed in a back room with dim lighting and long, shared tables that made it difficult to get in and out, especially if you were seated in the middle. The space felt cramped, poorly ventilated, and appeared to double as a storage area, which took away from the celebratory feel. They also ran out of Coke before 8pm, which was a bit surprising. Overall, the food and service really carried the experience, which is why I'm still giving 4 stars. I'd absolutely come back for a date or a small group (4 or fewer), but I wouldn't recommend it for a memorable celebration or larger party.

The food was so delicious and very flavorful! Portions were large as well and shareable. We went on a Saturday night but it wasn't too busy and we were seated promptly. The lomo was full of flavor and well cooked. The ceviche was bright, fresh, great amount of spice (we ordered medium). The variety of mocktails was nice to see as well. Already thinking of returning!!

Came here as a celebration and maaaaan it did not disappoint! The food was incredible, a beautiful combination of ingredients with the right amount of kick. Hit the citrus-y spot I was looking for. The staff was nice and patient (we were there for quite a while during non-busy hours). Passed an overall vibe check with the music, cleanliness, and customer service. I will absolutely be back here! We ordered 2 different ceviches FULL of flavor, along with the lomo saltado. The meat was juicy and flavorful. The ensalada rusa (pink dish in the photos) is definitely an underdog worth trying, it surprised us in the best way. Happy eating to ya if you try it!

I came back to try other dishes with my my friends. It was pleasant surprise with the ribeye with pesto pasta. The steak was cooked to medium rare, tender, and delicious. The fried rice with shrimp needed a little more flavor, so not too bad. What we all didn't like was the Peruvian corn. It was too chewy and it lacked flavor. If I came back, I would stick to the steak with pesto pasta and lomo saltado.

We happened upon this restaurant walking through Pasadena and I'm so glad we ended up here! I haven't had Peruvian food since a trip to St Maarten and the flavors brought me back! Our server, Omar, offered some recommendations and I'm grateful he did! The restaurant played amazing Latin music that added to the great ambiance. We'll be back next time we're in Pasadena!

I have visited Peru and had amazing authentic cuisine, so my expectations were high for this restaurant. The service was excellent with our server constantly checking on us and refiling water without us needing to ask. We were recommended the Ceviche Especial which brought a mixture of seafood in a citrus broth. It was delicious and by far the best thing I tried that day. The papas a la huacaina was bland and it left me feeling disappointed. The main dish was arroz con pollo and I was not expecting to get chopped up chicken bits with mostly rice. Desert was a delicious chocolate cake with a vanilla ice cream scoop. The esthetics of the place were pleasing, and the service was top notch, but I don't know about the food. I may need to try other things on the menu. Till next time, I suppose.

If you're in Pasadena and craving authentic Peruvian flavors, Bodegón No. 69 is absolutely worth checking out. I ordered the lomo saltado and was genuinely impressed. The beef was tender and flavorful, perfectly sautéed with onions and tomatoes, and served with that classic rice. The seasoning was spot on savory, balanced, and comforting without feeling heavy. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they're putting out. The customer service really elevated the experience. The staff struck that perfect balance: not overly attentive or hovering, but immediately available when I had a question. Friendly, professional, and welcoming, it made the whole meal feel relaxed and enjoyable. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, making it a great spot whether you're grabbing dinner with friends or enjoying a casual night out. Definitely a place to add to your Pasadena list. I'll be back.

The Malbec Salad was large enough to feed everyone in the Recoleta at sundown. Fresh Romaine, Radicchio, Goat Cheese crumbles, a hand carved Avocado fan (I'm a big fan of that), quartered Cucumber Coins, Frisee Lettuce, a sizable slice of toasted Bread, the large mound is mixed with a Caesar-ish Dressing and the whole pile is fresh, refreshing, tasty and a great dish to begin your dinner with. Did I mention that the portions are substantial? They are. The Chicken begins it's journey soaking in Lemon and Herbs. For an additional $2 you can bury the whole bird with Diabla Sauce. The Chicken arrives tender but with crisp edges, juicy and tasting like Chicken could and should taste. While the Chicken was definitely marinated it's hard to determine if it was brined first. No matter as it was spot on great. The Chicken Chef was not chicken and got it right. The Sauteed Spinach retained it's Spinach integrity and was fished out of the water while still slightly toothy. Excellent. The Kitchen elevated Spinach beyond Pop-Eye's power surge urge. This was beyond just a Side Dish. Vegans, have at it. The Roasted Potatoes were also good enough to enjoy as a Main. The Jerk chicken was cooked perfectly, though the spice level was mild, even after a warning. The oxtail was tender and good, but not the best I've had. While the rice and beans were a bit too wet, the plantains and cabbage were great. I would have preferred some hot sauce and fluffier rice, but overall it was a solid meal. A text notification system for when orders are ready would be a helpful addition, especially for those seated away from the counter. The staff member gave an estimated time, and my food was actually ready sooner, which I wasn't aware of. While not a major issue, this is an area that could be improved. When I finally logged into Yelp to do just that, I was genuinely saddened to see that this place has since closed. It honestly broke my heart, because this was one of those dining experiences that truly stayed with me. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was stunning--beautiful rooftop vibes, warm energy, and a space that immediately made you feel like you were about to experience something special. The food itself was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we tried was thoughtfully executed, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. You could taste the care, creativity, and intention behind each bite. The Peruvian inspiration throughout the menu was both authentic and elevated, striking the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was the chef herself coming out to introduce herself. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and passionate. You could tell she truly poured her heart into her food. She took the time to explain the inspiration behind the dishes, and it made the entire meal feel even more meaningful. That level of personal touch is rare and so appreciated. Looking back at these photos now just reminds me how special this place was. Delicious food, a talented and thoughtful chef, and an overall experience that left a lasting impression. Thank you for such a memorable meal--this is one I won't forget.

It's a small open air space, and it can get full right at dinner time, but if you go right as they open at 5pm, you'll be fine without reservations. The menu is limited, but it's all delicious! The Yuca Fries are a must! Fried and topped with chorizo. All of the sides sounded really good, but these are the best! The thigh meat chicken skewers are perfectly sauced, and can be ordered as an appetizer to be shared by two. All of the main dishes are meant to be shared. The prices are up there for the portions, but it's all a real treat for the taste buds, and the view is great! Highly recommend.

We enjoyed the food and experience. We walked in early and were greeted and seated immediately. The…read moremusic was kind of loud. Dried bread and dipping sauces were brought while we perused the menu. Our food came quick. First was the chicken soup we ordered as an appetizer. It was delicious! Warning - the red salsa side dish is super hot. We tested it first, added a small splash, and loved it. Next was a sliced beef and marinated onion sandwich. It was well filled and really tasty, our favorite of the night. The green salsa that comes with it is a perfect compliment - savory and spicy like a molé, but not too hot. We will order this again. Then came the beef heart, not a dish for everyone, but a personal favorite. Seasoned with a great dry rub and cooked on wood skewers, it was on par with the best yakitori I have ever had. What made it even better, however, were the sides. The hominy was perfectly chewy and seasoned. Mixed with the green salad, the potato chunks, and some of the green and white dipping sauces, well, it was an excellent compliment to the dense beefiness of the roasted heart chunks. OTOH, the salsa that comes with the beef heart, while full of chopped scallions and such, was far too sour for my taste. It was like pure lime juice. I tasted it and set it aside, only adding a few bits into my mix of sides. The final nice touch was the price. Total for three dishes was $40 before tax and tip. We will be back. The closest public parking lot is a couple blocks to the north, but we found a metered spot right out front. I didn't like that the meter needed a credit card or app, but that's the way things are going.

Everything arrived hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the whole chicken meal with three sides, and every item was a winner. The grilled chicken was cooked to perfection, it was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor in every bite. The plátanos were caramelized just right, sweet and melt in your mouth delicious! The yucca complimented the meal as a whole, and the beans are always a must order for me, they're consistently flavorful and comforting. And then there are the sauces, which are also stars of the show. They take an already great meal to the next level, adding the perfect kick of flavor to every bite. The only downside to ordering takeout is the amount of sauces given didn't suffice with the meal. Other than that, I have no complaints. From start to finish, everything was fresh, satisfying, and exactly why Rosty remains one of my favorite spots. Whether you're dining in or ordering takeout, you really can't go wrong. Highly recommend.
