I've dropped in here a couple of times per week for Yoga and Pilates whilst on vacation in St. Augustine and fully recommend this studio. The instructors are professional, passionate and motivating. They amend the training to the level of their audience, give excellent instructions and make time fly. I've literally grown (mentally and body-wise) in Laura's amazing Pilates & Barre-classes! The studio in general: nicely decorated, very clean & well equipped. Atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. You'll find a small reception, treatment rooms and a yoga shop on the ground floor and one large and a smaller training room as well as changing rooms and another treatment room on the 1st floor. Large windows offer lots of light. Most people bring their own mats, but you can also borrow one for 1$. I have to admit that I was a bit irritated by the photo currently displayed here in relation to this studio (breasts in a tight T-Shirt)...I'd say that the other pictures better reflect City Wellness. read more

I went for acupuncture this week at City Wellness. The Acupuncturist, Michelle, is a highly trained professional with many years of school and internships. Her knowledge and compassion is impressive. I know she is highly regarded among her peers and with her clients. Her re-assuring bedside manner made me relax and gave me confidence in the procedure. I don't know much about acupuncture but she resisted giving me the hard sell. I was impressed. I came in feeling lousy. She listened and set about immediately taking care of me. I felt better before I left an hour later. I made my next appointment right then, before I paid and plan to follow through with this treatment. HOWEVER... FOR THE OWNERS OF THIS SPA -- Please, someone tell her employers to stop expecting her patients to leave her a tip on their credit card payment at the front desk. The receptionist taking my payment actually asked me to leave "Miss Michelle" a tip. Seriously? ETIQUETTE FOR TIPPING is very clear. Acupunturists, chiropractors, dentists, physical therapists, doctors, nurses, -- these categories of medical expertise do not expect (or I suspect even want) tips. They earn their living through set fees. They are not wage workers getting less than minimum wage from a surly employer who counts on tips to supplement that underpayment. TIPPING can be an INSULT to some professionals. A verbal appreciation from a relieved patient, return visits, and referrals are how professionals like these know you appreciate the quality of their care. Not by a $20 bill slipped in "as a little something extra" as a hope for even better service next time. A medical professional will always do his or her best. And NOT because of a hope for a bigger tip. If the owners of City Wellness don't care about the etiquette and are coaching the receptionist to shame that tip out of a patient already paying $75 for an hour-long medical treatment, maybe they should consider a more graceful way to pay Michelle a higher percentage of that fee. (By the way, the receptionist's calling her "Miss Michelle" and me "Miss _____ " sounded patronizing. Leave that to pre-schoolers). And please, let the patient make her own quiet decision about a tip for any of the services offered, even those more traditionally tipped such as massage and facials. It is discretionary and should be confidential. I don't need to be hounded into adding an extra 15 or 20 percent at the front desk as I am paying my bill. City Wellness is making an effort to evolve into more than a yoga studio. I want to like it. Owners and managers, don't ruin it by a lack of social grace in your management. read more

I had a custom massage at Bodhi + Sol with Faye. I've had many massages from different therapists and various types of venues, but Faye's massage at Bodhi + Sol was the best I've ever had. Everything before the massage was lovely: making the appointment, getting my own blend of massage oil which I got to take home, the beautiful peaceful space and the oh-so-clean-and-comfy massage bed and linens. Take advantage of the 30 days of yoga for $30. What a deal! After that classes are only $12 and their is also the option to get class packs for cheaper. Teachers are very helpful to beginners and there are classes for everyone. The studio is peaceful and roomy. Fantastic experience at the vinyasa flow and yin classes. Very thoughtful instruction and innovative pose flow/progression. The environment is super relaxing and welcoming with a wide age range in students, which makes a really awesome class energy. Front desk staff is knowledgable and kind. Only suggestion would be to add a more shoe/stuff cubbies - they were more than maxed out at both of the classes. I didn't indulge in the spa services, but it's so exciting that they carry Eminence! read more

Such a beautiful, wonderful atmosphere! For the facials, they use an organic skin care line which I now love! The yoga studio has no carpeting (some other studios in town do and I don't particularly go for that) and is very clean. The yoga instructors are very soothing and it is a joy to attend :) read more

I had the Himalayan Salt massage today, and it was definitely one of the BEST massages I've ever had. I was totally relaxed the entire time and loved the hot stones. The subtle aromatherapy that was draped over my eyes along with the hot compress on my neck just made the whole experience that much better. Moving here not long ago from south Florida you become accustom to being papered. That being said City Wellness delivers. I had the best experience from the front door to the treatments I received. Nice Atmosphere, clean environment. They should not be confused with a day spa, it does not give you the same feeling as being pampered. Nice waiting area, how ever Unlike day spas you are not offered hydration prior to your treatment or after your treatment . I scheduled an ultimate facial for 75 minutes. The room was very nice and bright and clean, but a little too bright for a relaxing facial. I am familiar with Having my skin processed under a magnified light Prior to the facial and then given a recommendation for my treatment. At the city wellness I was told what my treatment was going to be without even looking at my skin. I was asked if I had normal , dry oily skin and at 56 yrs old I replied dry skin and the response was so you have combination skin. I felt that my treatment was very mechanical and almost scripted. I have been spoiled by experiencing some of the best spas and treatments in the world, but I am not comparing this treatment to any of the top spas however I basically was just waiting for it to be over. I could tell that the person giving me the facial was very inexperienced and was just going through the motions. I can honestly say I've never had a facial given with less interest in assessing my skin or recommending any future treatment plans. If establishment wants to charge top prices for treatments they need to have people who have the experience that will justify those prices. Logan should have charged according to her experience level. I was very disappointed as I recently relocated to this area and wanted to find a spa that I could stick with and go for my facial treatments every four weeks, but this isn't the place. read more

Best. Massage. Ever. Seriously, don't go anywhere else. I did a lot of research after a bad experience at another place and was apprehensive about having another massage. The location and friendly welcome definitely set the tone when you walk in. I had a 50 minute Swedish from Marilyn and I will definitely be back. I visit St Augustine frequently, and I'm thrilled to have found City Wellness. I scheduled a hot salt stone massage with Jennifer and it was the ultimate relaxation massage. I'm used to sports massages where it's intense to help me heal my sore muscles after a hard workout. This was SO relaxing and I felt amazing. I loved it so much I scheduled a mani and seasonal pedi for a few days later. Tracey was fantastic. I loved my mani and pedi and she helped me pick colors and was a pleasure to talk to. Went to City Wellness for areal yoga, a massage and a facial. My facial from Lisa great and she recommended products to use to help my skin. She suggested products from the spa but also what products I could buy that were within my price range. My massage from Rachel was AMAZING. Rachel clearly has a great knowledge of how the body works and incorporated that into my massage. read more
