I'm just a tourist passing through Lee Vining, and I found this place on Yelp on a Sunday night. What a great find. This place was amazing! I ordered the tri-tip sandwich, and the chef absolutely delivered. It may honestly be the best tri-tip I've had in Northern California. The portion was generous, the price was very reasonable, and everything tasted fresh and perfectly made. Andres and his team were on top of everything and made me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I walked in. Great food, great service, and a great experience all around. Ohhhh... and the dessert? My family stopped at had a quick lunch after leaving Yosemite. The burger and tots were generic (which is good for me), my son said the tri-tip sandwich he said was good but my husband said the pulled pork sandwich was overwhelmed by the very ketchup-y bbq sauce. The meat and Dino ribs were so juicy and tender. The meat was literally falling off the bone! The chicken was so juicy, and the spare ribs was so saucy and packed with flavor. The waiter was so nice and joked around with us for a little bit. He was very funny and kind. There was also a salad and soup bar, and the soup tastes so good. This will be a honest review. First of all customer service is a 10 they get you seated very quickly and they do make sure you have refills at all time.. after that being said we were a party of four I ordered the ribs and the salad bar and My kids all ordered bacon cheeseburgers. The ribs were not good. There was absolutely no smoke to them. They were crockpot ribs with no seasoning and a very nasty barbecue sauce poured on top. The salad bar was very basic. They need to add more to it with fresher ingredients the three bacon cheeseburgers all the kids said the burger were just OK. We ended up in this restaurant as one of the few dog friendly places in Lee Vining. They have indoor and outdoor seating. During our visit, which was a US major holiday weekend, they were understaffed, and the service was slow, but they got the job done. The food was good. We both ordered hamburgers. The food at this place is just okay but the service is awesome! Stopped by with girlfriend and family for an early dinner and we sat outside. This place boasts having great bbq but there isn't really anything to write home about. I personally had the tri-tip sandwich and it was okay. It was a large portion with a lot of meat and generous serving of tater tots. But it lacked flavor and sauce. My girlfriend had a no bun burger which she said was still pretty good but her favorite thing was the fries. The service was awesome with good pacing, consistent check-ins, and timely drink refills and request for sauces. This place was on the pricier side for what it was regarding quality. We should have read the reviews prior to stopping here. Cheeseburger was about an eighth inch thick and flavorless, coleslaw also lacked flavor and the steak fries were undercooked and barely warm. The other dinner was a New York steak. This too lacked flavor. The salad was ok , but not terrific. The potatoes was good, but then it's difficult to mess up a baked potato. Wait staff was OK but nothing special. This is not, in my opinion, a true barbecue restaurant. The ambience is semi rustic, semi barbecue with some nice historic pictures on the walls. We've been coming here for years, either when passing through on motorcycles, or making a special trip from Mammoth when we stay there. My favorite is the BBQ tri-tip sandwich, always flavorful, with plenty of sauce and the bun and onions done perfect. The weather on the patio in the summer afternoons is nice, with shaded tables, and we love to bring our dog along. Service has always been great. After spending the morning exploring the eastern portion of Yosemite National Park with some friends, we all decided that we needed some BBQ in our lives. Bodie Mike's had some decent reviews here on Yelp so we gave it a go. We were promptly seated outside on the patio and given menus. Our waitress then came over to introduce herself and to go over some of their specialties. She was nice and informative about the menu. I honestly can't remember what anyone else ordered but I went with the pulled pork and I found it to just be ok. I didn't blow my mind but it also wasn't bad. Terrible service. Went in hoping to try the ribs after a long day fishing. We were seated and promptly asked what we wanted to drink which was fine, but that's where the service ended. We waited for someone to come and take our order and nothing. We watched other patrons enter, get seated, and then had their orders taken and still nothing! We finally asked the waitress if she was going to take our order and she plain out said it wasn't her area yet she was the only waitress in the entire patio where we sat. Chili ($5.95) tasted like Dennison's with some fresh ground beef (2.0 stars) and the Fried Zucchini ($6.95) was absolutely not fresh but made from frozen (2.0 stars) and blew my diet out of the water. Not the fanciest of places and a bit pricy, but given there aren't many options in Lee Vining, we were satisfied with our food here. We had a large party of 11 and everything came out relatively quickly. Portions were large. There was a mix up and one of the sides should of been tots and we got fries instead. Lee Vining is a touristy sleepy town with quaint shops. I love it! Right smack in the middle of it all is this very cute BBQ place. Their BBQ is truly awesome . Request to sit outside during summer. U will have a view of Mono Lake right across the street. We had baby back ribs and the sauce is just the way I like it. Slightly spicy and not too sweet.The side dish of beans was a disappointment. It tasted like cardboard :( They also have a bar inside and of course a sitting inside to enjoy your food. I will definitely return next month on the way for more backpacking trip!
