I used Branches for marital counseling for about a year. I have continued with them for group…read moresupport for 2 years. This place was a game changer for me, my husband and our family. The ability to be totally honest and transparent without judgment is what people want and need during life struggles. That is exactly what you get with Branches. As with any new relationship, including professional relationships, I was hesitant to really open up about the problems I was facing. However soon after our initial visit I realized that we could come get the help that we needed and make the adjustments needed to improve our situation. I was also able to attend a conference during that year that further helped me gain the insight and experience needed to be a better spouse, mother, and person. Branches is 100% worth the time and money. I was referred by a friend/church member and I am grateful that I was able to get therapy there. One key thing to remember: when places are good, they are busy. This means that if there is a waiting list then guess what--they are good. Don't let that stop you from calling or getting on the list. People change their minds, decide to go other places, or simply decide to give up - you could be on a waiting list today but possibly get a call tomorrow that they are ready for you. Be encouraged! Help is NOT handling your problems alone.

I unfortunately cannot recommend this practice based on my experience. From the beginning, the…read moreprocess was extremely disorganized. After I signed up for counseling, I was told that I had apparently been there before (I have never been). I explained this, and they insisted that I had until they eventually realized they had the wrong person. My name is a unique name and spelling so it is not easy to confuse me with someone else. After admitting the mistake, they immediately began asking for my payment information, even though I did not yet have an appointment scheduled. When we spoke by phone, I felt extremely pressured to provide my credit card information. When I finally arrived for my appointment, I was told they did not have any of the information I had already submitted online. I started filling everything out again, and about 15 minutes into my scheduled appointment, they suddenly found the information they had apparently misplaced. Despite showing up on time and the delay being on their end, my session time was cut short. Unfortunately, the counseling itself was also just as disappointing. I was consistently given very generic, surface-level questions and felt that the counselor did not actually listen to what I was saying. I would explain something and she would compare it to something else or redirect the conversation, even when that comparison did not apply. Sessions were also routinely shortened. I was committing to hour-long appointments but was repeatedly let into the room late and asked to leave early, so I never actually received a full session. My last appointment was particularly frustrating. I was let into the room about 15 minutes late, and the counselor spent roughly the first 20 minutes on her laptop typing (nothing to do with me or my session). She would occasionally look up and ask very generic questions such as what I thought about compassion or happiness, without any apparent connection to what we had actually been discussing. Eventually, she had me watch a full Brené Brown YouTube video, which took up over 15 minutes of the session. I was then sent out early and told to schedule my next appointment with the front desk rather than having the counselor schedule it as she had previously. I ultimately decided not to return. Overall, my experience felt disorganized, impersonal, and much more focused on getting payment and moving through appointments than providing thoughtful, individualized counseling. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this practice to ask questions about how sessions are structured and make sure they are actually receiving the full appointment time they are paying for.

There was 1 or 2 that did not treat people with total disrespect. The folks that ran the day to day should be fired and reported. I was physically abused, verbally abused. The did not know what hippa laws are for. They totally disregarded my right to privacy . The all night crew, were nothing but mean. So much was done and said and I cannot communicate the physical pain as well as verbal. The day that I was discharged I told the social worker about the terrible way I was treated. All I know the group were from another country, they twisted my arm, I observed one of the gang taking a recording of me on there cell phone. I had/have several bones broken in my foot. I was given a wheel chair and told by my Vanderbuilt Doctor to not put any weight on my foot. I was moved to a much smaller unit. This where I met the Nigerian Night Crew. They snatched my wheel chair from me and took it away. They were laughing and told me my foot was not hurt. I was threatened if I contacted the police, I would be sorry. This is just the tip of the iceberg . I did file a police report in Murfreesboro. I am sure it was never addressed. I was worse when I left than I was when I was admitted. ******************************* Please do not go there! It was nasty. Too much to tell like this, I hope this saves someone from going there. If you want to compare notes, please feel free to contact me via email: luvgill@me.com. I was told by the patient advocate that she would file a complaint with the state. I called back the day after discharged. The person I spoke to was rude and just mean. She advised me to never call back again.
